This last trip it was windy so we actually drove up and down the Keys multiple times being tourists. I stopped in my favorite bookstore in Islamorada to purchase another copy of Capt Fizz's book on Treasure Salving to re-read. When we got home, I started looking up some coin information online. I have a 1 Reale pendant that I love for the shape and I started thinking about maybe getting an (authentic) 8 Reale for my husband for his upcoming birthday. After quite a bit of looking, I kept coming back to one listed by DePaula Jewelers. Not so coincidentally it was a Capt. Fizz coin! I kicked myself for not getting this idea while I was THERE and could have shopped in person. I sent an email with a couple of questions and got a response the next day. My questions were answered and I was offered an incentive to purchase. SOLD! I PayPal'd the money and my purchase was mailed immediately. Thankfully the husband went offshore fishing today so *I* got the mail. O_O. The only drawback is that now I have to wait to give the gift! It is SO cool. I feel like I got 5 star service even with an online purchase. And I like that I got to shop from my home away from home. I recommend this store for unique items and superb service.

Quick easy turnaround time and quality work. I get all my jewelry from these guys and have had some repair to old stuff as well. I bought a watch from them that had a problem. It was within the warranty period from the manufacturer. The manufacturer was giving me problems about fixing my watch. I contacted them and Billy had the issue resolved almost immediately. This is a great local establishment. I shop mostly at the south store here in islamorada because of close proximity to home. They explained that a church runs the shop to support a youth program. They had two racks of clothes that they had marked down to $1 and I found a few treasures. My fair skinned husband found a hat to wear to block the sun for $6 that he said would have cost him $30 new. They had lots of nice items that seemed nearly new. The name fits the shop!

In addition, in the very back is a caged area with a few small alligators --for the kids (and tourists) to marvel at. They do have a few tee shirts at a bargain price, but most things you will want to buy are about $25 and up. There were a few band shirts that would have been good Christmas gifts... but not at the prices listed. The store also sells some classic vinyl records & some colorful cardboard ornamental displays (roosters, birds, etc.) of different sizes that can be purchased & then assembled in just moments. Wow. The owner here is so incredibly rude. She said there was clearly a sign that said no food or drink. I did notice the extremely tiny sign sitting on a short stool as I walked OUT that I shockingly missed on my way in. Might want to make that one of your bigger signs if that's a massive pet peeve for you. She told me I could damage the clothing by bringing food and drink into the store... it was water. And her approach was just so aggressive about it regardless. You lost some business and you should change your attitude to a little bit more customer service oriented. It looks like several other reviews mention her poor attitude. Not sure why anybody like that would be in that industry.
