This is an older car that seems to have a problem big or small every few months. We correctly determined that this had to do with the exhaust system. We called and spoke to Dale, and he welcomed us in and offered us a very affordable and quick fix to get us back on the road. He was honest, his crew worked very hard, and we felt completely taken care of. My fiancée remarked, "That's the fastest anyone has ever diagnosed and fixed a problem on this car." DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE!!!!! I took my car here for a new starter and I have a few reasons NOT use this place. 1. Terrible service, they were rude over the phone and in person. They gave me no documentation upon completion, despite my asking. 2. Price gouging. They tried to charge nearly $300 for a new starter. Found one refurbished at OReilleys for less than half of that. 3. Very poor craftsmanship. After I got my car back noticed the check engine light on after a few miles. Car showing "knock sensor failure" code. Turns out these geniuses completely ripped the wires out of the sensor's clip, this is in the most impossible to reach location imaginable so I can't fix it myself without getting under my car. Ramps/jacks won't cut it. They did offer to take a look at it, but I never made it in because could never get off work in time, I got laid off from Alcoa and now I live in Houston, (THANK GOD!) and I'm not driving all the way to Victoria. Now I can't get my car inspected until I can find someone to fix this. All together a very bad experience taking my vehicle here. read more

I had my handicap van in for air conditioning repair. They told me the compressor was bad. I told them replace it and get it going. The next day they delivered the van. I paid by check, $1600.00. When I went to use the van, I found that the engine cover was behind the driver seat. A/C did not work. I drove it back to Midas. They said they found a leak in system. They replaced the engine cowling and I drove it home 2 miles away. When I got home the A/C quit cooling. I was charged $300.00 more. Finally I took it to another repair shop who told me the work was never done on the van. They found the leak in 15 minutes and had to replace a fitted line. Cost was $190.00. the A/C worked until the van was demolished in a hurricane. I was never able to get an adjustment on my costs with Midas. Never again! read more

This car shop will hand out a minimum four star service every time! I was greeting at 7:40 AM with an energetic assistant who made sure to (1) keep the order of service when other people arrived and (2) stay personable as other issues were discovered with my car. Although I went in for an oil & lube, the attendant was sure to inform me about the condition certain parts of my car were in, my expected leniency before changing those parts, and how they could help. It wasn't the usual "salesperson hype" to get you to buy their things - it was more like he updated me as he came across specific parts that he was working around. As a 20 year old female, it not only helped me with a general understanding of my car, it also encouraged me to trust them again with my "precious" vehicle. read more

This place is a joke. I was sent here by discount to have the lug stud replaced after they busted it. I have been here over an hour. They knew I was on the way from discount. This should have taken no more than 10 minutes to fix, I even came with the parts. One person was in line ahead of me. Two more have come in after me, one of which they have parked behind my car that is up on the lift. I have seen the guys standing around more than actually working. This is a bunch of bullshit. Unless you want to be here all day, go anywhere else. If I could give no stars I would. read more

Took my vehicle in for front end problems. They charged me $1200 and the steering was not any better. My husband called them to find out why and the man said that he told my husband it needs another $1100 to finish the repairs. We took the truck to another shop in Victoria and $70.00 later my truck drives straight. The steering is like new again! Midas tried to rip me off by claiming the shocks and ball valve needed replacement for it to steer straight; however, all it needed was an alignment. Will NEVER go back to Midas. read more

Awesome service and easy to work with. I had two flowmasters installed over a year ago at this location, well long story short one of the mufflers ended up falling off..I called the shop and told them what happened. Kenneth Overby, the manager, apologized for what had happened and even though my exhaust wasn't installed under his management he wanted to make it right and even willing to stay late to repair it being that I didn't get off of work until close to their closing time. I showed up to the shop 30mins till closing time and Kenneth pulled my truck right in..no fuss or extra cost out of my pocket at all he fixed it and better than it was installed to begin with. Now again the original job wasn't done under his management nor through any of his employees..reasons unknown they were no longer there. I would strongly recommend Kenneth and his team if you are looking for any exhaust work. read more

Great service and dependable work. I was on my way to Houston to see my parents for the weekend when I had a complete blow out to my rim and tire due to debris in the road. As a female in my 20's, I don't exactly have the most experience with car trouble. I wanted to go to an accredited place. I gave Midas a call and they were extremely helpful every step of the way. From having my car towed to the shop, to the manager calling around to different dealerships to ensure I got the best price for my rim. I was extremely pleased with my experience. I had a terrible experience here for the second time. I was cussed at and called a bitch by the manager on duty. This was all over me wanting the tire rotation I had asked for from the get go and they didn't do it. It was crazy. He was acting like he wanted to fight over it. Not me! read more

This is the kind of work you get when you go to the good ol Midas. Once we arrived home in Port Lavaca from Victoria around 6ish Tuesday (July 5th)... We noticed the car smelt like it was on fire and there was smoke inside as well as outside the car. We let is slide and thought "hey maybe it's the tire rubbing wrong" (which was being replaced on Thursday at Discount with new rims and tire) we went inside our home for the night. At 8AM the next day we are loading up our cars for work and ready to go. Only to back out and find out that the synthetic oil was all over our drive way. Called Midas, they send some technician all the way over here. Might I add with the wrong tools. Thank Bob my father in law was here to save that techs life and loaned him some proper tools. Found out that whoever put the filter on didn't do it right causing all the oil to just drain out. They said they would fix it. Soooo fast forward 3 hours later the tech is still sitting in his car in our driveway waiting for the tow truck service to come pick up the car. You know since it wasn't good to drive in that condition. I leave for work at 3PM the car had been loaded up and taken about an hour before I left my house. They fixed it and decide to also give us a complimentary fix on the one tire that was wobbly (the same one being replaced Thursday by discount btw). We thought "okay cool that kind of makes up for our troubles." I was expecting to get some kind of call to like you know to "notify me" that my car has been delivered and is now back home. But did we??? NOPE. They simply just dropped it off and left the keys in the mailbox. I arrived home around 8:30ish from work and see the car is back!! Yes we were happy and relived that it didn't stay the night, for the mean time anyways. TODAY!!! (July 7th) we leave for work at 8am like always. Come home at 3:40PM to only pull up and find our car like this. The only tire they messed with as a complement was rim to concrete. Even thought it was a "good used tire". Y'all this has been the most head bursting 3 days we have ever had. One mess up after another. I refuse to even let them touch or even try and fix their second fuck up. read more

On 8/27/2018, I visited the Midas Auto Repair Store at 6407 N. Navarro, Victoria, TX for a wheel alignment. I was contacted by Kenny O., the store manager. After waiting almost 3 hours Kenny informed me that the technician had found a faulty outer tie rod but that the alignment had been performed anyway. My first thought was that if the technician knew that there was a faulty part, why even do the alignment in the first place? Kenny recommended for the part to be replaced and that I could return and have the alignment redone. I followed through on his recommendation and had the part replaced and then a few days later I returned for the redo. I drove the vehicle for a few more days and found that the steering was swaying from side to side on the roadway. So, to satisfy my curiosity I took the vehicle to another reputable shop to have the alignment checked. Much to my surprise they discovered that the front wheels were out of alignment to a sufficient degree that would cause the vehicle to sway. In my discontent with the work completed at Midas and the safety risk I had been placed under I returned to speak with Kenny about a refund. Rather than try to make things right, he told me that since I had the parts installed at a different location the warranty on their alignment was invalid. The company warranty policy reads, All other products and workmanship are warrantied for (90) days from the date of installation. Ultimately, he refused the refund. My point of view was that it did not matter where the parts were installed, the alignment they performed was proven to be wrong. So, for whatever it's worth, I let him know that own four vehicles that periodically require repairs and maintenance and that I would no longer be a customer of Midas. read more
