My car failed its safety inspection elsewhere due to leaks at both exhaust flanges near the muffler. I brought it to Midas because they offer free evaluations, and I was curious what they would find. The outside looked unkempt and run-down. The manager greeted me when I walked in and was friendly. He got the car right in. The other place wanted $1400 to replace the mufflers, flanges, and pipes all the way back to the catalytic converters. The waiting area was filthy. One of the mechanics came in from the shop, walking slowly, spent some time in the bathroom, came out, looked at the vending machine, and went back into the shop. About a minute later, the same guy slowly walked back in again, looked at the vending machine again, and walked back out. He did this 3 times! I didn't get the impression that he was eager to do much work. As the car was getting ready to be lifted up, I went to the bay just to thank the man for looking at it. He didn't even reply. The manager looked at me and said, "Well, you don't have to sit there and watch him. Just kidding." I was sure he was not, and equally sure that I had not planned on watching the man work, even though this is my own vehicle. The manager seemed short and inconvenienced by me the rest of the time. The mechanic looked it over and showed me that the exhaust flange was leaking. I noticed the other one was leaking as well, and he said, "Oh, yeah. That one is bad, too, I guess." I asked him if he could cut the flanges out and weld in a pipe on each side, and he quickly said, "No, we don't do that." He seemed very shaky and nervous. I mentioned to the manager that I remember that they used to do exhaust work, and he said, "We still do." He said that they could do it, but was amazed that it failed for that. I looked up the Missouri code, which clearly states that it would be rejected if the flange is leaking. I gave him my number, and he was to call me later and let me know when it could be done. That call never came in. The next morning, I took it to Car-X, and they said that they would be happy to cut out the flanges and weld in a pipe in their places. This store was much cleaner and better organized. They also put paper down on the driver's side carpet so it wouldn't get dirty, which the other place failed to do. I'm very sorry to have inconvenienced Midas by thanking them for looking at my car and asking them if they could fix it. Needless to say, I won't go back there and would steer others away as well. If someone says they are going to do something, they need to follow through. read more

The Ballwin, Missouri location at 15230 Manchester Road 63011 opened on approximately May 2025. It advertised oil changes for my Chevy Equinox for $39.95 plus tax. I thought I would give it a try since Chevy dealerships were going to be about $100.00. The time I waited was about 1 1|2 hours which was acceptable. I paid about $52.00 with all the BS fees and tax. On the way home I received a call that their tech had left one of their tools in the car that checks errors codes. I called them back and they said they really need this expensive tool in order to do jobs they planned on doing that day. I dropped what I was doing and made the trip back to their store. The manager said they really appreciated me doing this to help them. As an appreciation he gave me a coupon for a free oil change in the future. Fast forward several months and I return to get an oil change. The new manager stated that Midas does not do things for free and the people that offered that are gone now. I don't make this negative review because I want free things. I only believe that businesses should honor their word. What good would their warranty be on work they do? Be very careful about doing business with Midas because they do not stand behind their promises! read more

They said it would be no problem, and two days later one of the tips has fallen off and two of them are not lined up with the mufflers at all. They have overcharged my father MULTIPLE TIMES and still having fixed the problem. Over $4,000 dollars and his car is still not fixed. Then as we asked him to explain what we are paying he laughed, spoke and circles while bragging on his $25,000 machine that he used to diagnose the issue, that was WRONG!!!!! After years of working with Tim and then Jason, I am very sad they are no longer there. They were always phenomenal to work with in my saga of problems with mine and my daughter's vehicles. If I find either of them, I'll definitely go where they are. Had my car towed there because eating oil and battery kept discharging. Oil had been changed 3mo before and I had put in 4qts of regular (not synthetic) since that was all that was that was available at gas stations I'd gone to. Mgr John said small leak from gasket, advised not to mess with it (16yo Scion xB w/268xxx) -I agree. I'm giving only a 3-star rating because charge was $225 for an oil change (full synthetic) and to tighten some wires connected to the battery, which seems high to me. read more

Made an appointment online. Manager called and told me could not accommodate my request but that there had been a cancellation for Monday July 28th at 3:00. I called day of and said I would be arriving 1 or 2 minutes after 3:00 due to road conditions. John the manager said no problem and thanked me for calling. I arrived at 3:02 for my appointment. At 3:35 I asked manager John when my car would be looked at as that was the whole reason for actually making an appointment. He said it should be any moment- after making a remark about me being 2 minutes late. At 3:48 PM 45 Minutes past my arrival and appointment time I requested my keys. I left without service and will never return. We have been coming to Midas for several different cars in the 10 years since we moved to Wentzville. Not anymore. I felt like they didn't want or appreciate my business so I will gladly take it elsewhere. I appreciated Tim and Jason as management for this location. Horrible place they don't know what they are doing in an inspection. when told the vehicle is in a non-emissions county they don't pass it. we took ours there and they did not pass it do to emissions we live in Lincoln County NOT A REQUIREMENT!!!!!! for passing. I truly believe they only want you to buy something from them. it is stressful enough without having to deal with false stuff and being taking advantage of. Do not go to Midas in Wentzville. Went in for a simple code reading, left with an ENTIRE NEW ISSUE with the Air Box. They blamed my 16-year old son for "messing with the car" after we picked it up, which is completely unacceptable and false. They then said that screws were missing from the airbox, when the Air box takes ZERO screws whatsoever. They said to fix that part will be over 200 dollars and are taking NO blame at all. Had an appointment for 9:00am and got there about ten minutes early and was met warmly by Jason, the manager, and taken in right away. My husband and I both suffer from COPD and the air conditioner started blowing warm air. Needless to say we knew we could not last the summer with no air conditioner. Jason told us he would check the lines for a leak and do a check on the compressor. About 30 minutes later he came out, explained how he checked the lines and the compressor and found no leak. He filled the freon up and it kicked in. We were so grateful to know that so far, nothing major to be done. He advised us to drive the car normally and let him know if we had any issues and promised to get us in right away if it started blowing warm air again. This is my second visit to this location and both times have had very positive experiences. He has a respectful and knowlegeble staff and bends over backward to assist every customer who walks thru his door. In this "hurry up and wait" world people just assume good service means putting them in front of others. Patience is a virtue people, check it out. read more

Took my car in for a safety and emissions 3 days ago. The staff left my lights on causing my radio to no longer work and outlooks lights to go out on my vehicle. This was due to the battery dying and low voltage. The manager here has been avoiding me and not answering the phone to deal with the damages. The female manager at this location refused to do work on our car because we didn't purchase the right part. After waiting 4 hours they called us and told us we had the wrong part. After going back to the ford dealer they double checked to find I indeed had the right part and the staff at Midas just didn't want to do the work. The female manager who used to work at CarX was incredibly rude, unhelpful, & just frankly lied to us about our vehicle. Dishonesty and shady business is the main reason why this company has less than a 2 star rating on here. The female manager should be fired as she needs some serious customer service training & needs to learn how to be honest with the community she serves. Sad to continually run into issues with this locations and their choice of management. As a sponsored driver by Midas it's sad my family and I get treated so poorly by the staff. We have already planned to drop them from our racing sponsors due to the mistreatment from the staff here. I recently moved to Wentzville. I'll admit I chose this shop because it was close, and easy for me to find as I was learning my way around. Having taken 2 vehicles in, in order to get things switched up for MO and returning for another issue the state so kindly requires of vehicles that my previous state did not require; I must say, I do not understand the poor reviews. The employees at the shop have been nothing but kind, helpful and professional. I really appreciate them, and their making at least, the vehicle part of moving state to state so much easier. I worked at this Midas location, the entire shop was a mess, I was illegally fired the day right after getting home from doing my military work. Why would any of the technicians have to move their tool box? It makes the job inefficient due to all of the tools being slid around from rolling the toolbox. This company cares more about meeting a time standard than they do making sure the job is done correctly. This is a business where human lives are at stake, not a how fast can you get the job done competition. I get that there is a certain time standard, but how can you do a job correctly if you are going super fast or not doing it thoroughly enough? I care more about keeping people alive than meeting a time standard that will cost someone's life. Also, the shop foreman (Bob), shop manager (Jason) and district manager (Tim) treated me like I was someone who was below them and it seemed like I had to walk on eggshells around them. read more

Went to have my vehicle inspected for safety and emissions. Was told that it failed safety inspection due to loose ball joints. Joints that had been replaced just 20k miles earlier less than a year prior to inspection. Took to my trusted mechanic to have ball joints replaced due to still being under warranty and was told joints are firm and should have no reason to be replaced. Almost was stuck paying over 500$ to replace joints that didnt bother needing replaced thankful for my mechanic. Dont get your leg by these guys either. read more

This was the best, most efficient, auto repair, oil change , location in St Charles County. Oil change took 10 minutes, inspection appointment was superb and best around, Mike the manager can't be beat , his knowledge of ALL cars is phenomenal. That all changed when the Midas garage changed ownership, and management in early 2018. A simple oil change, they rounded off the drain bolt on my Equinox, they didn't rotate the tires as advertised, said they could not find any leak in 5he left front tire, reason, they didn't check anything. Midas had a car they worked on loose a tire on the highway. I hit that tire as it was skidding across the highway after it fell off the car. Insurance quotes the damages over $3000. Jason said he would fix everything and wanted it to look as good as new. After talking to the district manager, the story changed to "we only will pay for the fender liner and tire. Not the cracked bumper, cracked rocket panel, or bent wheel, ect. No only will they not pay for the damages to my car, that one of their cars caused, but lied about their intentions to fix it. Not to mention they had ANOTHER tire fall off another car they worked on. They fixed the other two cars that were involved with hitting the tire. Mainly because they were able to fix them with junk yard parts. I guess you can't do that with a 2018 model car. Shame on Jason and Tim for not doing the right thing. read more

I've been bringing my car here for awhile now, but the last 3-4 times the wait times have been ridiculous and the technicians don't know how to do their jobs. I went in this morning for an oil change/tire rotation and I had an appointment for when they opened. It still took 1hr and 20 minutes. The technician didn't know how to clear the oil change warning from my car, so I had to wait another 10 minutes for him to figure it out and then after specifically asking them to not spill oil all over that would leak onto my brand new driveway (which they had done twice before), they did it anyways! So now I have another oil stain on a driveway of a home I've only owned for 2 months. Thanks guys! I love spending that much for an oil change to have to spend more money and time cleaning up a mess hours after a service. Well, this will be the last time I go here. NEVER TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE!! I brought my truck here to simply put new tires on. Absolutely nothing was wrong with it. Drove fine. When I picked it up it wouldn't start. Somehow they got it started in the parking lot and I drove off. Went to the grocery store down the rode and it died again. I tried to jump it but of course it wouldn't jump. I called up furious and they said they would have a guy come check it out. And of course the battery is now dead and I need a new one. They tried to tell me batteries go out all the time. WHAT A COINCIDENCE it goes out in their parking lot after they worked on it. This isn't even the first issue myself or my family has had here. And of course they made me pay for the battery which was up charged as were the tires they put on. I'm not quite sure how this happened they're are either genius in screwing people or the guys working back there are the dumbest people on the face of the planet. They deserve -100 stars if I could. Tried 4-5 times last week to call for an oil change price/appt. Each time I called the man put me on hold without even asking if I could hold. After approx. 7 minutes or more on hold each time I gave up. Yesterday I decided to actually go there in person since I was now desperate for an oil change and stood there for 5 minutes for someone to help me while 1 guy was on the phone. I walked out. Called back this afternoon to let them no I would no longer use Midas for our car (3 of them) service because of this and although I did get an apology, besides the guy who says he's the manager asking what they could do to keep our business, I was not offered anything. I am a Wentzville resident and have long-time friends staying with us for several weeks. They recently had brake issues and went to this Midas for repair. They were told that the spare tire assembly HAD to be cut off (and not repaired) to replace brake lines, and were charged well over what was estimated. Upon returning home and going to their trusted mechanic to repair the spare tire assembly, it was discovered that the old brake lines were left on the frame, the brakes had never been properly bled - the front ones never even touched - so they were charged for work that was never done, as well as being charged over 100 for an engine diagnostic that was completely unnecessary when doing a brake repair. BUYER BEWARE IF YOU ARE NOT LOCAL!! I'd give this Midas negative stars if I could. read more
