Midas off MacArthur rd in Allentown I believe deserves a rating of a 1 star and would give a zero if that was possible. I am writing this review to warn others about the incredibly unprofessional, deceptive, and exploitative experience I had at the Midas on MacArthur Road in Allentown. I brought my car here in early March 2026 for a battery and charging issue. I spoke with the supervisor, Rob Klotz, and was transparent about my limited budget. Rob explicitly promised he could "work something out" regarding payment, even suggesting they had allowed previous customers to take their vehicles home and make payments. I trusted him with a car I have maintained since 2016. Instead of addressing the battery/alternator issue I requested, they insisted on a $2,400 "tune-up" (plugs, coils, hoses). I felt pressured into this, as they made it sound essential to the car's operation. When I could not pay the $2,400 upfront, the "flexible payment" options suddenly vanished. I was then harassed with threats of my car being towed, causing me immense stress and leading me to believe I had lost the vehicle entirely. Four months later, my sister spotted my car still sitting in the Midas parking lot. When I called to inquire, Rob Klotz claimed they had removed the parts they installed. He then offered to put them back in for a reduced price of $765. In an attempt to finally get my car back, I paid this amount, plus the cost of a new battery. The condition of my car upon return was appalling: *My personal items were ransacked, items were torn off the mirror, and the passenger seat was left with a noticeable rip. *The car now has a dangerous wobble when driving that was never there before. *The tires were improperly inflated to a hazardous level. **^**To make matters worse! within less than 24 hours of Midas "fixing" my car, the new battery Rob Klotz told me to go buy, died completely, and the car broke down again! *When my boyfriend called Rob Klotz to report the failure, he showed zero concern, offered no solutions, and was entirely dismissive. ***********^*************^***********^************^****** This shop failed miserably to diagnose the original problem, misled me about payment options, damaged my property, and returned the car in worse condition than when I dropped it off and if offering no compensation or assistance. I feel completely exploited. Do yourself a huge favor and maybe take your business anywhere else. read more

WORSE SERVICE EVER!!!! In 2019 I took my car to get 4 new tires. They wouldn't sell me the brand I wanted and up-sold me to BF Goodrich stating they are a much better tire. Well two years and only about 12,000-15,000 miles later and the passenger front tire has a bubble and the passenger rear tire looks like it has the beginning of dry rot. When I initially complained they offered me two free oil changes, however the last time I went there for an oil change it was nor in the system and I was charged. These guys are amazing! My sister and I had just left our parents house to drive home to Indianapolis and when we started going faster than 45 the car started shaking. We pulled off and stopped at Midas. As soon as I said the car was shaking they knew we just had ice stuck on the wheels. We came in to the nice waiting room and they had toys for my 1 year old to play with. Within 15 minutes they gave us back the keys and told us it was no charge. The owner was knowledgeable and kind. I would recommend their service to anyone-- in an industry where it has become normal and almost expected for repairmen to take advantage of (most) women's lack of car knowledge, its great to find a place like this where they were honest, quick and professional. read more

i called today asking for help as my horn wasn't working. i was out on hold and asked if i could come in 5 days later? look i know everyone busy and booked but a little common sense says someone without a horn is in a very dangerous driving position. My answer was just forget it i'll find another place to fix it and i did. i looked under the hood myself and got it able to work. These guys are awesome. I needed a cat back exhaust system done on my 03 Pontiac Grand Prix. I called Midas in Whitehall and they were able to get me an appointment the next day. When I got there Kevin greeted me and listened to what it was i wanted to achieve with my new system. He walked me through some options that I had for an exhaust system that didn't break the bank. He also offered some of their services without being pushy. I got what I needed at a great price. These guys defiantly get a thumbs high. read more

I do believe I have finally found my new auto repair shop! Went for an oil change (great price of $19.99 plus tax and no hidden fees) and Kevin, the Service Manager, asked if I had any other concerns. The technician Jamie went thoroughly over my car (I was there for 3 hours) and uncovered other issues, yes, that were bothering me but forgot to mention. Kevin showed me everything on my vehicle with great patience, and I appreciate that. Everything he said made great sense and I know he wasn't pulling any fast ones on me. He gave me estimates and explained the priorities. He agreed to accommodate me to leave it with him for a month while I go out of town! This is an honest shop to get your vehicle serviced. The estimates are fair, the service is thorough, and the staff is friendly. It seems they have 3 bays. The only drawback is the location on MacArthur Road but I'll get over it. I am thrilled that someone recommended them to me. I want my car to be safe so I have piece of mind, and I did not get that from my last mechanic who did a poor inspection last month and completely missed that my emergency brake didn't work. This is a blessing in disguise because now Midas will get the work and I can feel confident I won't have to return for improper installation. read more

alert!!! taking this place to court for fraudulent practices. the injustice is real! see the attached pictures. there was constant brake noise and vibration because the mechanics never changed the old hardware, used cheap aftermarket brakes/rotors and they used an excessive amount of brake grease which could have caused major damage to my vehicle long term! these are aftermarket rotors and brakes! Midas will not own up to the fact that they installed aftermarket parts on my car and falsified the invoice stating they installed OEM Kia equipment which breaches the warranty that comes with the parts.. the regional/district manager and store owner were all uncooperative. people please be skeptical of this place and always get a second opinion. read more

Last month I took my car in for inspection. I spent over $600 on back brakes and four new tires I needed in order for my car to pass inspection. Ten minutes after leaving this establishment with my four new tires one of them went flat. They did not want to replace this tire free of charge and instead were trying to blame me saying I must have hit something like a pothole or an obstruction on the road to have this happen. I did not hit anything and was only going 15 to 20 mph. I am just thankful I was not driving on the highway at the time the tire went flat as I could have had a serious accident. It took my husband calling Midas corporate office for them to force this particular franchise to replace the tire. Needless to say they have lost us both as customers. read more

Went to this location based on prior experiences with another Midas franchise that had closed. Needed state inspection and exhaust work that I believed was from cats back. They replaced the flex pipe and a transmission mount for a total bill of $400. 10 days later the left muffler broke loose. Went back and they quoted a price of $900. 10 days after that the right muffler broke as well. End of the story I replaced the exhaust myself at a cost of $375. Not happy with the quality of work done, the cost of parts and labor is excessive. Would not recommend or return. read more

We need to talk about Kevin....he is just the sweetest. I went in for an oil change and a maintenance check on my way through town on a long road trip. Ended my visit with an oil change, two new front tires, a repaired rear tire and alignment adjustment all in under an hour for an extremely fair amount.
