We spent a week enjoying some of the most beautiful scenery in the world and filling the coolers with delicious fish. We witnessed pods of whales feeding, brown bear and more bald eagles than we could count. We caught halibut, several species of salmon and numerous other species of fish, as well as Dungeness crab and delicious shrimp. The accommodations on the boat were outstanding and the crew couldn't have been better. The food served on the boat wasn't good, wasn't great, but was phenomenal. The chef and his meals were top notch. I would highly recommend Alaskan Coastal Outfitters for a serious fishing trip or family vacation.

I spoke with Luke a few different times before I booked, and everything he told me to expect, is what you can expect. Luke is a straight forward guy and will answer all your questions. The main stay is on the Huntress, which is a really nice and well equipped 60' yacht with numerous bunk rooms and has a really good chef, Ed, on board. Ed even shared some recipe's with me that have been a hit back home. As for the bears, we had 3 guys hunting, and on the first evening, one of the guys, Andy, killed a really big black bear. About the 4th day, I killed my very respectful bear after a really experiencing stalk. The 3rd guy did not kill. There were opportunities for him to kill, however, he was after a record book bear as he has killed many bears in the past. If you are in the market for a bear hunt, I highly recommend contacting Luke for all details about what to expect.

He wasn't available so he set us up with Captain Aedon and deckhand brother Zander. Aedon picked us up on time with a smile and wonderful spirit. Aedon put us on the fishing spots to catch four King Salmon, one we were able to keep and ship home, one that was too small to keep, and two that I was unable to land :-(. We also caught a large Lingcod and a couple others smaller ones. Captain Aedon and Zander were both open to share so much information about their fishing techniques and the Sitka culture. Amanda from Sitka Point Lodge was excellent as well. She contacted us the day of the charter to get copies of our fishing licenses so she could print them and give them to Captain Aedon with our delicious Sandwiches. Chips, and cookies. We were also provided sodas and waters. She also asked us if we needed rain gear and deck boots. After our trip, Amanda communicated with me to organize the least expensive way to deliver our catch and a couple extras. She went above and beyond to get our fish to us in one day on Alaskan Air Cargo for a reasonable price. What a wonderful experience! Thanks for all the care from the first call to eating our catch im our home kitchen in Southern California.

My mom had many issues with her trip. Hidden fees - 3% cc…read morefees not on contract or in any communication but charged to her credit card without authorization. Continental breakfast is advertised and all that was offered is bagels and toast, no protein which was expected with the continental breakfast expected. License not included in package price and limits on fishing not discussed prior to boarding the boat. Also, package states unlimited packaging of fish caught, but we were charged $10 per box of fish. Again, charged without any communication of these fees. Group of 2 treated considerably different than group of 12 on the trip. If you do not go fishing and stay at the lodge you will not be provided with lunch (and have no way to get food otherwise). The large group (a few people that stayed also) was provided lunch after group of 2 was told they would not get lunch because they stayed at the lodge instead of fishing that day. Also told new group was coming in early and we would have to be relocated to a hotel before our trip was over. This was very upsetting. As we paid for the entire stay prior to arrival. Paid over 3k per person, airfare and tip to boat captain, will not support this business again.

He knows most of the fisherman in the area so he's always asking where the bite is. When the Halibut fishing is slow, he has no problem picking up the anchor and moving muliple times to find fish.
