I had been here before for an oil change and tire rotation on a different car. This past weekend, stopped by on a Saturday afternoon for a TPMS light. I didn't have an appointment but experienced no wait. They attended to my concern right away, looked at the tire that was triggering the light and did a thorough check. They didn't find any nails or leaks. They topped off all 4 tires with air, and also took the time to explain why they think the light came on (weather/temp). They told me to keep an eye on the tire pressure for the next couple weeks and bring it back if the light comes back on and stays on so that they can dismount the tire and do a further inspection. I really appreciated their attention to my concern. I may start coming here for all services. read more

I went in there to buy something and purchase gas. The person behind the counter owed me 2 cents change, which he refused to give me because he said that "pennies are rare", even though I could see pennies in his cash register. When I asked for my money back on the purchase, HE ALSO REFUSED TO SELL ME GAS! This is horrible customer service and I encourage everyone to go to different gas station so you don't get ripped off or are refused service. read more

I would not recommend this mechanic. He tried to sneak in storage charges that were never discussed so I took my car to another mechanic and he called me yelling saying I owe him money. We spoke days prior and he never once mentioned every day it's sits there. It cost money. He did not do any work on the car at all and when I tried to explain to him that what he was saying was not reasonable, he called me "sneaky" completely folded and said I don't care go ahead. Keep the money and hung up on me. Times get tough but projecting that on how you treat your patrons, especially as a woman who doesn't know much about this car stuff. Took my car in to get the brake pads replaced because my dealer suggested it during routine service. David was kind enough to tell me my brake pads will last another year easily. We bought a used car for our daughter about 6-7 years ago. Had to get it inspected and didn't know anyone in particular to do it. I found a mechanic at the Shell on Wisteria Dr in Germantown MD and he was really nice. For the first time in over 30 yrs I felt very comfortable I have a trusted mechanic finally! He was moved to Exxon on Middlebrook Rd which he manages (this happened a few years ago) so of course we followed him. all 3 vehicles we have is now serviced by Middlebrook Exxon and I've since referred the auto shop at this location to all my friends and family. Best place for Maryland Safety Inspection-required for private party sales in order to register a vehicle. Service manager, David efficiently took my information and assigned technician to perform the inspection. He estimated length at an hour and was completed within 50mins. I appreciate businesses that value customer's time. Although my vehicle did not pass initially, they were fair. Re-inspection was a breeze. This is the first time I've ever felt the need to provide a review of any sort much less a seriously negative one. If the owner David promises you multiple free oil changes to get your $3,500 engine replacement work be sure to get it in writing because he'll conveniently forget about it when you come back and try to get a free oil change. Hard to believe he would argue over $29 and actually called the police on me because I would not leave the shop. read more

so I went to this gas station today because I had called them ahead of time and said hey can you have me out of there ASAP I have one hour for lunch the guy was like yeah we can do it in 10 15 minutes at the most. Okay so I leave out and just go outside for a minute and maybe 5 minutes later I just walked back inside because you know I got to get back to work and I just walked back inside. And didn't say a word to anyone the guy said to me if you going to be rushing us I'm not going to do it? Brought my car here for an oil change. The price was fair, not a long wait time and the staff had a great attitude. Ask for Gerber, he did the oil change; job well done. Will be bringing my car back to him for any future car maintenance. Feels good to trust someone with my car. Here's my take on this shop. I've been here on several occasions and one is certain that the price changes every time I go back. Now If I'm going to spend $144.00 plus dollars at a gas station for diagnoses or just go to the dealership and pay same price if not cheaper depending where you go to tell whats wrong with the vehicle a little much considering they are using a universal machine that to read 100's car problems and and not one brand (honda, Nissan) what gets me is owner sits there and doesn't say a damn thing but instead will wait for his worker David to assist you to me is a dirty way to do business on tip of that the parts that are being used are very basic parts meaning the quality is all they say it is so just proceed if caution when dealing with them. read more

This is a horrible place to rib me. My car AC did not work, I called the manager David, he told me it is $148 for AC service. When I dropped the car, I also told hime my front passenge Tire got slow leakage. He did not give me a written estimation, told me it will take 90 minutes. Then he called me, my AC compressor did not work, a new compressor is $600 ( from a dealer is $172), and the car water pumps leaks, need be replaced immediately. I was shocked by his price, and told him I will not repair. Then when I went back, he insisted to charge me full $148 for the AC service he did not perform. I asked what he did, he told me he charged 2 Lb r134a freon. But, if the compressor did not work, freon can't be charged into the system! David even told me he plugged my leaked tire. End up I saw a nail is still there, I had to go to another shop to fix the tire. I was forced to pay $148 for just diagnosis, NO AC service performed. NEVER go back again. read more

A gas station is a gas station- you get out, you fill up your car, and you pay- it's all the same to me. This review is for the auto shop at this location. These guys are WONDERFUL. I brought my car here tonight because I thought I might have a slow leak in my front tire (NTB up the street wouldn't take me unless I could leave the car overnight- as usual. Um, I do have a JOB to go to tomorrow, but hey...) They took me right away. I actually didn't realize it but they had closed nearly an hour ago (the manager and a few of the employees were just there cleaning up before leaving), but they took me anyway. The manager came out- in the freezing cold weather, mind you (wind chill is in the teens tonight)- checked my tire and found the problem. He could have just filled it up with air and told me to come back tomorrow to get it fixed, but he stayed even later to fix it for me right then and there, saying he didn't want me to get stuck with a flat tire somewhere in this cold weather. The garage was all closed up; he actually did this in the parking lot outside for me. There was some trouble getting the nail out at first, so two of the other guys even came out to help. They charged me less than $20. He wouldn't even take the tip I offered him for the huge inconvenience I must have caused. It's rare to find such people in this world anymore. Those guys could have easily said, "Sorry, we're closed," but out of the kindness of their hearts, they helped me out. My faith in humanity is restored for a while. :) Five stars. read more

This place as a garage was terrible. One of the front desk guys, David, was rude and arrogant. He made customers wait upwards of 20 mins before even speaking to them while he did some unknown work at the computer and chatted with people in the retail section of the store. Then when he finally gets around to talking to me, he tells me that it will be 50 bucks to mount a front licsence plate to my front bumper! I ask why so much and he says he part is 25 and labor is 25. I tell him that I looked up the part and its typically 5. He realizes he's just try to bs me (I'm a girl) and backtracks, trying to tell me it'll be 25 if I bring the part. I went to another gas station with the part and they did it for free. Do yourself a favor ladies, don't go here, especially if you don't know about cars or are having $$ work, they will take one look and try to rip you off. Don't recommend for guys either. read more

Gas is always more expensive than other stations around and the cashiers at the counter have been less than friendly sometimes. However, the auto shop did a great job on one of our cars. We needed to get a timing belt replaced, so I called around for estimates. I got estimates from the Shell on Wisteria, Cochran Automotive and some others in the area. Everyone else was almost double than what this place charged. Would definitely take our cars back there for service again, but will drive the extra block for gas that's $.5-.10 cheaper per gallon. read more

Last Friday at 7AM, as I pulled out of my neighborhood to go to work, my car started making some truly awful noises, and I didn't feel safe getting on the road. I took my car to Middlebrook Exxon, and despite them not actually being open yet, Joe very kindly took a look, and let me drop it off. I've been taking both my car and my wife's car here for the last year or two, and they are always friendly, to the point, and fairly priced. This time was a biggy. They really took the time to figure out what exactly was going on, and only got in touch when they new what they had to do. No "we think it's X... oops, it's this other thing"... I'm so grateful to these guys for taking such good care of our cars, and everybody really went above and beyond for us this time around. Do yourself a favor, and take your car here. Had quite a different experience with these folk. I got a flat tire while driving on Middlebrooks Rd and immediately pull over into the station with my car for them to plug the tire (front passenger). These folks charge $23 to plug ONE(1) tire. This is a complete rip off. Wouldn't recommend them. Meanwhile, I had bought and extended range head light that I had in my car to replace myself. However, since I was already at the garage to fix a flat, I had as the guy, would you also put on my headlight. I had planned to do it my self. He responded, oh no problem I can do it quickly for you. When I got call for my final bill, I saw another charge for $28.05 for putting on a headlight of a 2005 Mazda. Total of $51.36 rip off. All I can say is I am not going back there anytime soon. read more

I bought a used car from a dealership that Middlebrook Exxon supposedly MD State Inspected. Well, $3200.00 in repairs later (I only paid $3900.00 for the car), all of the items that did not pass inspection are now fixed. The ball joints were falling out, the CV boot was leaking and had been for quite some time, the catalytic converter had been hacked up and a universal one put on that set off the check engine light, the tires all had to be replaced and it needed an alignment. Either they are just writing the inspections and not checking this stuff or they are just incompetent. Do yourself a favor and look for a different mechanic. read more
