1st Class! A+.... A rare company that puts customer service & satisfaction over making a quick buck. I needed a new set of 20" tires for my car & knew the dealer was trying to kill me in price. I called Kevin at Hanagans (he is a Hanagan) & he quoted me prices for mid range & higher range tires that had the same exact warranty. I was not pressured in anyway with some BS & ultimately chose the higher end Michelins. My greatest praise is that I was treated honestly & with respect. So often as a woman I'm treated as a moron w regards to my cars maintenance & the guys at Hanagans explained things to me with professionalism & courtesy. Tires are something I know very little about, but in the past I have tried a few places. So I asked around and Hanagan's kept coming up, including from my mechanic. So I left a message via online on Tuesday night and Kevin called me early Wednesday. I explained the exact tire I wanted and size. Kevin was very knowledgeable and explained throughly my options besides the tires I had asked for. ** the tires I asked for had come with the car and were no longer produced, however he could get them for me. As far as tires go they were mid range and all of the reviews agreed** Once we agreed on tires, he had Tim call me back with in minutes with a quote and we made a time for the service. When you first see the shop it is small and right on the street. It should have a sign that says "our pride is on the inside". I honestly would have never stopped there on my own. However once I walked inside right at 8am the staff was amazing. They took my keys and went right to work. I walked a few blocks and grabbed a bite to eat. I returned at 8:20 and by 8:30 my keys were being handed to me and the quoted price was what I paid. So great service, great recommendations (better tires then I had wanted with a lower price), and great customer service. I would recommend Hanagan's to all my friends! read more

Can I give more than 5 stars? For starters, they saw me 2 hours after I called. My wife decided to take a road trip last second and I had been procrastinating on getting new tires. Definitely not letting her drive 14 hours on tires that shake at 55mph. So they've already gone above what I expected by taking me on short notice, but then they get even better. They offered me some coffee which I gladly excepted, and then proceed to show me exactly why the tires wore so unevenly. I spent the rest of the time there chatting them up and watching them work; great conversation btw! So they replaced the tires, fixed the underlying problem, and gave it an alignment and oil change. Then they proceed to buff the cloudy headlights till they gleamed like new and check all the fluids unprompted because they knew my wife and little girls were taking a trip. I usually go to Costco to get my tires replaced but I got tired of the 2 to 3 hour waits to get the tires installed and waiting an hour sometimes to get them rotated. I went on yelp and found this family owned business and glad I did. I made an appointment for 10am and got my new Continental True Contact tires replaced on my Honda CRV in about 40 minutes. The customer service from getting a quote for these tires to getting them installed and having them answer any questions I had was awesome. If you need another reason to support a local or small business owner, this place would be it. I got a puncture in my tire on my way to work and fortunately, was right in the area of this shop. The shop was able to take me right in and got the job done in under 15 minutes. I didn't get his name but assume he was the owner and I can say he is just absolutely warm and friendly. There was also none of "may I suggest you get new tires, alignment, inspection, etc" that one would expect at a chain. It can be hard to find a reliable shop to take care of your car and not fleece you while doing it. Hanagans is that place. We found them thanks to some positive reviews here on Yelp!, and we have been bringing both of our cars and mom's car here for some time now. They are extremely knowledgable and very fair in their pricing and rates. Time and again they have proven themselves fair and honest. They never propose work that isn't necessary and they don't overcharge. They also won't tackle a task that is outside their scope of work. Two examples: brought my new to me used car here for a check up and state inspection; they told me it looked great, they said the oil had been recently changes so it could wait. They rotates and balanced the tires. Everything else was in good shape. They could have done the oil change and I would never know but they are not like that. Example two: an automatic door closer cable on my Toyota Sienna snapped. They looked at it but said this would be a fortune to repair and they said taking off the door and taking it apart to get to the motor was best left to a dealership. Of course they were right on on the cost and we have had negative experiences with our local dealership so we just decided that the doors are now manual. It will build the kids' arm-strength. In short: this is an excellent shop. They tell you clearly what is up with your vehicle. They get it done as quickly as possible. They charge fair prices. read more

You know, I had a very simple request, that is somehow very confusing for most businesses and entail a lot of stupid penny pithy costs: I have a wheel with a flat tire and I have an extra full size tire I would like you to put on. The response: Swapping tires? Sure that's easy, $24 (and no stupid disposal and pithy fees). I was super skeptical when I showed because of the layout, parking didn't have "lines" designating spots, but it was very obvious where I could park because it said customer parking. And of course I noticed it was Irish owned, so they won't lie to you, and they're straight about what everything is. This one hour job from dealerships, or even Sams Club took them 20 minutes. I was literally choking on thin air inside my head because I was just getting ready to settle in for one more lost hour in my weekend. I am sold on Hanagan's work on replacing 4 tires and wheel alignment. After doing some extensive research on some Continental tires, I asked Hanagans for recommendations, and they list the pros and cons of every tire. This is much different than your national brand tire shops, who often taut just the good stuff. The communication was solid throughout the ordering process, pick-up and drop-off. The tire price was reasonable comparing to online prices, and the labor rate was industry. The only reason why it's not a 5 star rating is because when I picked up my car in the morning, my car key was inside the car and parked outside in the parking lot . No idea how long it was sitting there with key inside, and I didn't tell them what time I'll be coming by. I don't like it one bit, even if Gaithersburg is one of the safer neighborhoods. read more

These guys are the best. Honest, great prices, fair deal. And not just for tires. They do repairs, too. If your car needs repair, it is what it is and it has to be fixed, but they'll give you options, their recommendation, and a fair price so when you're done, you don't feel ripped off and your car is fixed. And, if you need tires, they'll typically beat the big box stores, they're much easier and faster to deal with (in and out in record time) and they're great about servicing your tires after the sell. Can I give more than 5 stars? I already had this tire repaired at home in New York on Friday prior to driving down to Maryland only to find that it was half flat by the time I got down here. I filled it with air but sure enough in the morning it was half flat again. I knew that I could not drive back to NY on this tire but didn't know how to get it taken care of quickly and with someone who would not rip me off. I turned to Yelp and they did not let me down. Sunday night at 11pm I tried to make an appointment on line at Hanagan's but the system said there was nothing available until Tuesday. Needing a Monday appointment I sent an email through the web site but figured that I would just call in the morning. To my surprise there was already an email for me when I woke up at 7am from Kevin the owner! I then got a follow up phone call from him letting me know that I could bring the car in any time. The staff there was super friendly and although I did have to wait for them to get a new tire for me from another location, they let me know how long the wait was going to be and considering that I didn't have an appointment, I could see they were super busy and it was a Monday morning, they really got me out of there very quickly and at a reasonable price. Highly recommend. I plan to run this old Honda into the ground and the next time I need another repair I will see if I can drag this vehicle down to Gaithersburg to have Kevin's team look at it rather than having it fixed in NY again! read more
