It came about because I wasn't sleeping enough for weeks and my body was probably feeling both stressed out and susceptible to infection so my eye this time around took on this burden. It was unsightly and did not go away for a number of days, and because of its proximity to my eye, I couldn't risk permanent vision damage and whatnot. At first I went to Parton Health Center on Middlebury College campus to get it checked out, and the nurse was worried and wanted a nurse practitioner to check it out. I came back the next day and the nurse practitioner wanted me to see a doctor that same day. I went in to see the nurse practitioner at 9:45 AM and got an appointment for here for 2PM of the same day! When I walked into Middlebury Eye Associates, I was greeted cheerfully by the receptionist and was checked in promptly. The waiting area is a cute room with a lovely rug, and it feels like I'm in somebody's home because of course, like many other local businesses in town, this optometry office is an old house in the town of Middlebury converted and repurposed into an optometry clinic! The upstairs portion is who knows what. Maybe more offices, maybe someone's living quarters, I don't know. Well, here I am getting my eye checked out, and my suspicions were right! The doctor said it looks like a cold sore under the microscope. Dr. Monica Wolosinski was my optometrist for the day and she, as well as the other ladies working here, is very sweet and attentive, and cares about her patients. I had to pay $60 to get my eye checked out to see that it was mostly fine and now my left pupil is dilated and sensitive to light, as well as useless for seeing things up close, but it was a great experience, and I'd come back here if I had any more pressing eye issues.

The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Dr. Horan has provided great treatment and put me at ease (I do have a bit of dental phobia). My 4 year old loves going there, so much so that I can't tell him when I'm going because he gets jealous! I would definitely recommend Valley Dental if you have dental anxiety (or even if you don't).

She started having serious issues, so we knew she had to be seen. I spoke to Adirondack Dental Health Center and they gave us a same day appointment for the late afternoon. From the kindness of the office staff, to the wonderful manner of Dr Cook, our experience here far exceeded our expectations. My daughter's care was absolutely first class. She took X-rays and told me what she had found, and cleaned my teeth. A few days later. Dr. Derick did work on a tooth, and he gave me Novocaine with gentleness. It was the best visit to a dentist in years. A crown was put in place a week later. The Snares are very professional, they quietly do their work, and explained each move. Being 60 years old some of my fillings that were put in 45 years ago were leaking and needed to be re-done. I had one tooth that had 3 cracks in it (which I could feel) It needed a crown. They did the crown first as it was needed the most. It was quite a procedure and I am not overly fond of having dental work done because of being hurt in the past by other dentists. These dentists showed me on the x-rays where the problem was and talked to me on how they were going to do the procedure. The way they handled the novocaine and making sure I didn't feel anything was wonderful. They are really up-to-date on new and improved methods of dentistry. One of my replaced fillings, that they redid, looked so good that I really couldn't tell it even had a filling. I think they are a real asset to the Brandon Community. It's good to see the best of the best nurses are still there and are very good at their job. Only had one little problem with one of them, who's a little bossy. My Dr. now is Sarah Abbott and she is equally as good as Dr. Cooke was. She is fantastic!!! Very competent Dr. who I have come to trust with my care. I drive an hour just to be seen by her because she listens, has a great bedside manner, and truly cares about her patients. She is also very knowledgeable about all the current medications out there to help treat your condition. The Mad River Valley is very lucky to have her in their community!!!

They talk about your ailments and really care about seeing you get better. They even call after your course of treatment to make sure you're still seeing results.

My cleaning was relaxed and the hygienist was friendly without being overly talkative. She gave me great information about caring for my teeth (telling me to brush less, and massage my gums more). But the real test came when I took my 3 year old there for her first dental visit. She was smiling the whole time. Again the hygienist was phenomenal, keeping my daughter entertained and happy the whole time.
