Cathy visited my property twice for discussion of options and pricing. She is very straight forward and no nonsense, and offered good suggestions. The door quoted was a Provia and although expensive, is the first thing visitors see when coming to our home. It was ultimately more than worth the money. Darek the master carpenter, came once to carefully measure the existing door, lights and woodwork. Ultimately we needed a custom size door built at the factory. His measurements were so accurate, the new door fit perfectly first try in the opening when stood up. Darek performed the removal and new install and is truly a talented professional. We felt lucky to have his skill, and although I'm not a carpenter, I could tell via his work he is excellent. The finished entryway to our home is now amazing and went from rotten to beautiful. Per Cathy's suggestion, I immediately had the surrounding millwork and wood work refinished and painted long before the door install. Again a sage suggestion and saves me money from not losing that to the elements. I highly recommend these professionals.

Not the cheapest nor the most expensive, but the only company to provide an in-home demo of the actual windows we were purchasing. With such a big home improvement project, you want to feel confident that you made the right choice. Shortly after signing the paperwork, they sent someone out to measure. Then we waited quite a while for the job to be scheduled. Unfortunately, installation occurred during a weeklong heat wave. Yet the guys rarely complained, and spent four full days installing our windows. If I have any complaints, it's about their after sale customer service. The day our installation wrapped up, I noticed a slash in one of the screens, and was assured they'd order a replacement and have it sent to us. Three months later we still had no screen, so my husband and I started calling. Every call was treated as a brand new sales call and no one seemed to know anything about our replacement screen. Finally, someone came out and made us a new screen onsite. However, he re-screened it too tightly, and the frame warped. More phone calls and more confusion on their part made us feel like we were in the twilight zone. Ultimately, we took the frame to their office and they fixed it there, which was an additional inconvenience. Other than these few snafus, we're happy with the work.

Last I checked, the big box store has an unmanned booth with plexiglass, not the old school glass in my old house, and I've never seen big box jump like Glass Guys. Even though I didn't have an exact measurement, and only the broken pane for exactness, Kevin was able to cut my odd-size window pane in about five minutes. The store hours for non-commercial walk-ins like me is Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, so this means you can still get your glass after work (or Saturday 9-2). The website suggests you call ahead, so I did, and got a call back within the hour of my voicemail, and was able to get my pane that day. I've never seen Glass Guy trucks fly by me on the highway like another review said, but their work in store is good and fast.

As the garage is also a primary way we access going in and out of the house I wanted to get it repaired as soon as possible. I called "Doors and More" and although Greg had a number of calls scheduled for the day, he fit me in and got us up and running again immediately (same day). I was super impressed with his work. He was knowledge, professional and courteous. He carefully sized the replacement springs to match our requirements and ensured everything was done properly. He did not just assume the broken spring that was removed was correctly sized. When I asked him about that he explained that it was not an original spring and so he always sizes what he installs himself so that he knows what is installed meets requirements. This involved weighing the door and interfacing with a sizing app to precisely match the replacement spring to what was needed. I can't say enough about how positive this experience was. If you are looking for someone to do garage door maintenance, I would highly recommend Greg.

Sunday morning I tried the default Overhead Door Co. who first told me they could come out that day, only to call me back and state they don't do residential on Sundays.... OOOOkay. Hit up the search engine to see what I could find and DaM came up as nearby with Sunday hours. Called, left a message and had a return call within 2-3 min. Gave Greg the rundown and he said he could be at my place with 45 min... and he was. Pleased and impressed. He had the (proper) springs replaced and was extremely personable and explained how everything worked and why the spring broke in the first place. Highly recommended and wish more companies still had such great business practices.

On the same side, a thermometer gun points at the glass, showing the temperature rapidly increasing. Then, the thermometer is switched to the opposing side, showing a rapidly decreasing temperature. It would seem that the glass effectively blocks the heat? Such was the sales pitch by Renewal by Andersen. Convincing as it was, the thought of getting swindled by Renewal by Andersen in Cromwell was the furthest from my mind when we agreed to have our Bay window and the adjacent dining room window replaced by them, despite the $10K plus cost for both windows installations. Although the $10K price tag was prohibitive, the idea that it would generate savings over the years by decreasing our heating and air-conditioning expenses was appealing. And so, influenced by the persuasive demonstration their salespeople had earlier made, we proceeded. You get what you pay for. Isn't that how the adage goes? And yet we didn't get what we paid for. On the day of the appointed installation, the crew supervisor knocked on our door to inform us that a terrible mistake had been made: the delivered windows were the wrong dimensions and consequently would not fit, necessitating a new order to the factory that would delay the installation for a couple more weeks. Where the error occurred, in the measuring process or at the factory, they wouldn't say, except that back in Aug 3, 2017 at 12:36 PM, I received the email below, "Thank you so much for choosing Renewal by Andersen as your partner in this project of replacing your windows/doors. We are committed to doing an extraordinary job for you. This email is confirmation of your appointment with our construction manager SW CT- Dennis Edgeworth for a Pre Install Inspection of your windows on Tuesday, 8/8/2017 at 3:00 PM. We look forward to seeing you then". Best regards, Stephanie Secino Director of Operations Did Dennis Edgeworth, the construction manager incorrectly measured the windows? On the day of the second installation attempt, I observed the crew reusing the old insulation materials on the "new" bay window which made me wonder. IS the so-called "new" bay window they installed not really new but is a reject, which Andersen is trying to get rid of, stealthily? Later that same day, my wife and I were once again subjected to another disappointing incident when one of the crew members knocked on our door that early morning asking if he could use our bathroom explaining with a sense of urgency. We never anticipated that, but it led us to wonder if the company standards Andersen Windows purportedly embrace are mere marketing hypes comparable to a magician's 3 card trick? Unsure whether it would be best to question their slipshod methods then or there, I ultimately decided that a letter to the CEO of Renewal by Andersen's parent company, Jay Lund, would be a better approach. It, disappointingly, was not. When the Fall season arrived, it became obvious to us that both windows Andersen had replaced were not effectively blocking the outside temperature from radiating inside. Unlike the sales team's demonstration, which showed a window pane demonstrating great efficiency, the cold was pouring in. Could Renewal by Andersen be that crooked? Did Jay Lund, its CEO, have any idea about the crummy work and the crummy product he was peddling? A good reputation takes a lifetime to build but a second to destroy. Surely he must know that. Seeing their television commercial this past January prompted me to renew my effort for a redress. Since that time, I have met with their representative from their Cromwell office twice and in between have received text messages from their installation department pressing me to agree to a repair, repairing what exactly and how, they were unwilling to say, despite my repeated request (3 times). Having little to no confidence in the quality of their work, it doesn't make much sense to agree to a repair job, the function and usefulness of which, the company can't even explain. It would just mean more workmen in our house, doing their "best work" in our bathroom, while doing little to improve our very expensive inferior windows. Door was ordered June 26 and was told it would be installed within 90 days. on day 97 I called to be told and I said wife the answer was I don't know it just says we don't have it yet but the person stated they were unable to find out. I asked for a supervisor and I was told the supervisor will tell me exactly what she has just told me and they have failed to pick up the phone every single time I have called. The salesman has always reached out back to me but can only do so much. this company is unable to deliver the door the door and unable to install it and as of this point continues to provide indefinite information. Due to the deplorable customer service this entire company has provided in finding a resolution or even a proper appropriate justification for not having contacted me before I reached out to them then makes me weary of what to expect in the event of an issue with my door. I have clearly told customer service salesman corporate etc and that I do not wish to continue my relationship with this company and therefore requested the funds be returned to me immediately. I will update in further datails my continuos fiasco as it continues. They may have had good reviews before but apparently somebody has fallen off the wagon and the customer service and or product is absolutely disgusting! feel free if you have any questions But don't fall prey to the hype,!

The landscaper put a rock through one of the living room windows. I expected a hassle getting the panel replaced and expected to wait a week for the repair. Middlesex Glass had it good as new in a day. Saved me having to secure the window opening. And totally reasonable price. read more

Mid-July I reached out to the owner (Soverns) and sent pictures/video of water overflowing the gutter but nothing has been done. I had a great experience with Fuery Development Group. Highly recommended…read more I had Fuery make minor repairs to my foundation, replace an exterior door and replace some damaged door trim. All aspects of the work were exceptional. They were timely: provided an estimate quickly; scheduled and completed the work within about a week of me accepting the estimate; arrived and completed the work on time and as scheduled. When I asked the workers to do an additional bit of work, they were able to complete it that day. Cost: almost half of what other contractors quoted me, even including the extra work and a certification letter I needed. Fuery Development Group will be top of my list when I have additional work. I highly recommend them.
