I suffered a back injury last year that initially seemed to improve, but several months later the pain returned. Since then it has progressively worsened, especially over the last six months. Because of circumstances outside my control, I had to delay seeking medical care. When I was finally referred to a spine specialist, I chose Dr. Nwojo's office because of his education and experience. Scheduling was frustrating from the beginning. After my referral was sent, it took over a week for the office to contact me. Then, the day before my appointment, I was told they needed my MRI images and that the appointment couldn't proceed without them. I had to scramble to obtain the imaging and reschedule. I don't understand why this wasn't communicated when the appointment was originally made. When I arrived, I was seen by a nurse practitioner rather than Dr. Nwojo. I understand that many practices use NPs, but I left feeling that once it was determined I was not a surgical candidate, the focus shifted almost entirely to explaining why surgery wasn't an option instead of trying to determine why I was experiencing progressively worsening neurological symptoms. Throughout the visit, I asked what was causing my symptoms, whether they were consistent with my lifting injury, why they had worsened, and whether they were likely to continue progressing. The answers were largely that it was "possible," "hard to say," or "I don't know." I understand that medicine doesn't always provide definitive answers, but I left without a clear explanation for why my condition had changed so significantly. One comment that stood out was that if imaging had been obtained immediately after the injury, they may have been able to say more. Unfortunately, that wasn't my choice. My employer denied coverage for the injury, and I couldn't afford to pursue imaging on my own at that time. What disappointed me most was leaving without a clear plan to investigate the neurological symptoms that brought me there. My recommendations were medications, physical therapy, and possibly pain management. Those may be appropriate treatments, but they didn't answer the questions I came seeking help with. I paid for this visit out of pocket and traveled to Odessa hoping to better understand what was happening to my back. Instead, I left feeling discouraged and still searching for answers. Dr. Nwojo performed ACDF surgery on my C4-C7 and placed a titanium plate with 8 screws and it oh my gosh the Lord worked miracles thru his hands. I've been battling this pain for years and now I can finally live life better. I was in and out in one day and was playing golf after 6 weeks. I broke my back in December, just before Christmas. Dr. Nwojo operated infused some vertebrae in my back. I have a very active job that requires lots of lifting. When I went home after surgery, I didn't even finish the pain medication because I did not need them. It's been five months since my surgery and I have zero back pain. There's not enough words to express how great this place was for me. The staff is so caring, patient and kind. Every time I call I am happily greeted. During my first visit , the waiting room was filled with people giving their testimonies on how Dr. Nwojo had fixed them. My surgery Dr. Nwojo was the only doctor I could find to help. Everyone else said there was nothing wrong. I even found reputable surgeons in Lubbock, but they also said there was nothing wrong. I came in for chronic pain that started September 12th 2020 and didn't see Dr. Nwojo until December 4th. He told me I had Scheuermanns Disease and may need surgery, but we tried everything else before making that decision. He will not recommend surgery unless absolutely necessary. He communicates everything well and is very approachable . Before the surgery I was not able to sit . I had to go on STD because the pain was so bad. There were days I couldn't move without screaming and crying . I'm writing 2-1/2 weeks post op. I can now sit for hours !!! I'm in a lot of pain but not like I was before . Had spine surgery a year ago. The pain subsided some for a couple of months but returned worse than before surgery. Finally got an appointment to see doctor. He did another MRI, X-rays and CT. Found I had a fracture below what he had fixed. Suggested different alternatives besides another surgery. They did not fix the fracture. Agreed to do surgery after I completed all the pre-op's he wanted done. Never scheduled another surgery! His staff is very rude, won't return phone calls and lie to you when you go in person to find out when the 2nd surgery is scheduled. DO NOT USE THIS DOCTOR.
