I had my first appointment there today for a check-up and cleaning. The dental hygienists were kind, caring, and competent, and Dr. LeBlanc was great as well. Everything is very clean and organized in there and the office does not have the dark, sterile feel of many other dentists. There are lots of windows and natural light giving the whole space a warm and welcoming feel. I can imagine that this would be a great place to bring kids for a check-up - nothing scary at all about this place! There even appeared to be a well-stocked treasure chest for good patients :). I also liked how prior to my appointment I received a reminder postcard and call. They are very on top of everything at Family Dental center. As such, I would highly recommend it to anyone on the market for a new dentist!

I had terribly bad experiences with this office on multiple occasions. Dr ruth has always been…read morekind. However my complaints arent on him in particular. The receptionist is extremely rude. The ladies that clean my kids teeth are not kid friendly and should perhaps have a little more patience. The other issue im beyond frustrated with is the fact that this dentist replaced two of my front cosmetic fillings a few years back. I have been in several times since then to have them fixed because they have fallen off or chipped away unbelievably fast. The last time I called I was told that these were not able to be replaced again because of only a year warranty or something. You would think that that warranty would start over again if they have to replace all of them multiple times. I am now in a position where I no longer have that insurance and my two front teeth are all chipped and misshapen because their fillings have completely failed. The part that frustrates me the most is that the feelings I had prior to them re-doing them lasted me five years. The only reason we had them re-done is because of a little discoloration. Now the ones that this office has replaced are completely discolored and chipped and broken. I am furious.

Dr. Grove is a very nice man, patient and knowledgeable. previously, I had a crown procedure by my local dentist. However, when he got ready to put the permanent crown on, I was was having severe pain when I would bite on something with that tooth. So, he put the permanent crown on temporarily, and gave me a referral for an Endodontist to examine me. Dr. Grove did several tests and ultimately made two recommendations: root canal, or extraction and implant. The latter was because he couldn't rule out that the tooth had a hidden crack. I chose the former option, and he immediately did it. After the anesthesia wore off, I had only a little pain, and that was in the jaw joint from holding my mouth open wide for so long. By the next day, zero pain! I would recommend Dr. Grove to everyone!

I don't know what brought someone from Chicago to Bay City but I have to assume it was an emergency situation while visiting someone. I can testify to the fact that this office does have rules but I don't view that as a negative. It's not an emergency dental clinic. I don't see anything wrong with a practice wanting to have a full picture of a patients status. But I won't pretend to know the circumstances. I can only speak about my own. I have not had one negative experience since I became a patient here. The staff and Dr. Payne have always been very professional and honestly, more friendly and understanding than any other dentist I've ever suffered in my life. I have a lot of dental problems and HATE going to appointments because of how badly I feel about my situation. That said, they are among the kindest people I have ever met and always treat me like a human being even though I don't feel that way. There is no other dentist office or dentist I'd rather go to. This practice, this staff, Dr. Payne are the only people I trust because after these last few years, they're the only ones that make me feel like I have a shot.

They did x-rays and said they didn't see anything, and then proceeded to put me through a cleaning. I was diagnosed with trigeminal neuralgia , which is one of the most painful conditions there is. They knew this was a possibility and added greatly to my pain with the cleaning and I ended up in the emergency room the following day.
