Let me first mention the medical staff at both of their locations, Dakota Dunes SD and also the clinic on Singing Hills in Sioux City, Ia. are all excellent, very professional and knowledgeable. However when it comes to the Billing Department it is a whole different story. They give you the wrong information and are very rude on the phone, even threatening on the phone when it was their mistake to begin with. I would highly recommend anyone dealing with the Billing Department to keep names of associates they deal with and to look over bills thoroughly. read more

Felt I was an inconvenience with Dr. Chabra. I'm not happy with the surgery and suture work he did, but I am not a professional to be able to judge the quality. Will take my money and time to someone else in the future. I did have pleasant interactions with 2 of the three receptionists, I came in contact with. Emily Kruze seemed like she cared, though I understand their workload, she didn't make me feel rushed in our appointment. I tried to ask about procedures they do, but when a clinician's back is to you, it doesn't make you feel free to have a conversation on options available to you. I felt dictated to by Dr. Chabra. My takeaway from this experience is to ask questions even when you feel they may be unwelcome. Smile even when you do not get one in return. Your time is as valuable as theirs. read more

Not happy. Went for a chemical peel and the nurse rubbed the chemical over my eyelid! When I told her she rubbed the chemical on my eyelid and it had seeped into my eye and was burning my eye she initially tried to deny it, by saying, 'I didn't drop it in there'. Then she tried to normalize the situation by saying 'this happens often here'. I have received chemical peels for 15 years from numerous dermatologists offices. I am also an esthetician and what happened is NOT normal! Half of the chemical peel came off as I was rinsing my eyes. They sent me to an eye doctor immediately following my appointment. They did pay for the eye doctor appointment, but they didn't compensate me for having to get a babysitter, having to rearrange my plans that afternoon and the discomfort chemicals cause in the eye. This could have totally been avoided if the nurse would have been paying attention to what she was doing. Instead of denying her negligence an apology would have also went a long way! I may try the Dakota Dunes Midlands Clinic next month, but will not be going back to the Morningside clinic ever and definitely will not be recommending it to friends/family! read more

Saw Michelle Daffer. She did not listen to me and didn't seem to think my problems were actual problems. Seemed like they held out on prescriptions to try to push their cosmetic lotions that they sell in the office and advertise with posters all over the walls. Dismissed me without telling me what prescriptions I was given. I had to have the nurse chased down in order to find out if I had been given any at all. She then tells me they were sent to my pharmacy. Wouldn't have even known to pick them up. Then I find out that I was prescribed the wrong meds and strengths. They didn't tell me what all the meds were for so I didn't even know what I was getting. read more

To get a single mole removed, I will be paying out-of-pocket nearly $1,000 for terrible service. The last time I had a mole removed by a general practitioner it cost $200 total, including the lab fees. I spoke with both my insurance company and Midlands Clinic, neither willing to reduce the amount I owe for any of the charges. I am being billed nearly $200 for a "skin check" or office visit that took exactly 3 minutes of Dr. Chabra's time. On top of that, the actual excision of the mole, which only took him 10 minutes and was so terribly done that the stitches broke open a week later, cost me $450! Ridiculous! I spent more time in the waiting room than I ever did with the dermatologist or his nurses. Save your money... look elsewhere. read more

I just saw Dr Chabra for acne. He was very thorough and attentive. He listened to my concerns about various medications and took them into consideration. After the appointment he even called me to check to see if the treatment working working! Awesome experience with an excellent Dr!!! read more

I have never written a review about a business before, but I am fed up with a few Dermatologists at this business in particular, so I felt it to be appropriate! I am not writing after going here just once. I have been going to this practice for TWO, yes, TWO LONG WASTE OF TIME YEARS! When I first went to Midlands Clinic, I saw Dr. Chabra. He was very eager to just get out of the room. Did not want to listen to me, just put me on a medication and told me I would be following up with the person that works along side him because he was "going to be on vacation" by the time my next appointment with him rolled around. (Which I kind of thought was weird?) .. That was the first and last time I would ever see him by the way. That was almost two years ago.. (Doesn't want to deal with his own patients, so he hands them off?) He handed me off to Crystal Oberle. Anyway... I started taking the Doxycycline Dr. Chabra had prescribed me after just looking at my face for two seconds and barely talking to me. I went back in a month with no improvement what-so-ever. Not even a dent. I'm talking horrific, painful, nasty looking cystic BOILS on my face here. When Crystal stepped into the picture it wasn't much different. Very eager to just get out of the room. I've waited longer in the waiting for her than actually sitting down and conversing with her. Very cold and just plain doesn't care what you have to say. She comes into the room and gives you this lame attempt of a "friendly" hand shake that is limp as a wet noodle. (Strikes me as a "know-it-all" .. Dismisses everything you say.) Long story short, I had no improvement with their methods. Appointment after appointment, no improvement, but still the same bull crap. "Are you taking your pills?" YES "Not missing any doses?" NO "Are you using the lotions everyday?" YES "Hmm, I'll see you in a few months" OKAY You would think after 6 months without improvement, you as a Dermatologist, would want to find something else that works for your patient.. (But that's just me..) Doing the same thing over and over, hoping for a different result, is literally the definition of insanity! I waited and waited for the doxy to hopefully work and it never did, but being on it for so long now, I'm literally scared to just stop taking it. Fed up with the Doxycycline not working, I recently took matters into my own hands and (finally!) figured out what was causing my acne after 2 years of being on Doxycycline and it not working! The next time I had went in to see Crystal, I had told her what I had been doing different, but she pretty much dismissed everything I said like I was a small child in elementary school. Even though she herself said my face was better, I had "no active lesions" on my face. Well, duh! Because I finally figured out what was actually CAUSING THEM no thanks to you! Grr! What in the heck was the point of seeing a dermatologist if I, myself, had to just figure out what my own problem was!? What a waste of money and time! I just kept going to her after the fact because I was honestly scared to stop taking the doxy since it had been in my system for so long. Today, though, was my last straw. I am tired of her not listening to me and just shoving pills down my throat and not HELPING me solve the actual ROOT OF THE PROBLEM! I am determined to find a dermatologist that will actually sit down and help me get to the root of this problem and why it's happening in the first place instead of masking it with pills! You can't put a freakin' bandaid over a gaping wound! I Do NOT recommend Dr. Chabra or Crystal Oberle to ANYONE! Maybe if SHE didn't work under him because he basically hands you off to her. Maybe try someone ELSE at this clinic, just steer clear of those two. You've been warned! If you just want to be not listened to, handed off to someone else, pills shoved down your throat and not actually FIGURING OUT WHAT IS CAUSING YOUR ACNE, than be my guest, I would highly recommend Dr. Chabra and Crystal Oberle for that! read more
