Glad I was able to take her as I ended up delivering my son three days later!!! The dental hygienist that my daughter had cleaning her teeth was super sweet and totally made my daughter feel comfortable. I really didn't know what to expect from my daughter at her first dental visit but I was really pleased by her whole experience. She was a total champ. A wide array of toothpastes are provided as a choice... my daughter settled on strawberry even though she claimed she wanted mint at first... though I will say that's my fault as she associates "mint" with actual ice breaker sour "mints". I knew that was exactly what she was thinking when she said mint so I suggested strawberry for her instead which she agreed. My daughter had her appt with Dr. Cronly. Dr. Cronly was great answered questions I had... all in all it was a great appointment. Apparently, all my daughter's teeth are close together so the dentist suggested that we start flossing... that's definitely news to me so glad we got some info on that. I've always used a roll of floss and didn't realize here were little picks with floss to assist kids flossing. I also didn't know that we could start using toothpaste with fluoride in it so adult toothpaste so we have started using that at home... just a teeny tiny bit. At the end of the appointment, my daughter was given a coin so that she was able to get a special toy from the dispenser. Of course what kid wouldn't like that! She also got a certificate of no cavities at the end of her visit as well and the a kiddie toothbrush, kiddie floss and toothpaste. All in all it was a great visit and my daughter mentions all the time how she wants to go see the dentist again haha...

They treat us like family and have been so patient with my anxious daughter. Our first dental visit 4 years ago, my daughter was inconsolable- scared of everything, kicking, screaming, crying. The staff remained calm and patient while I was tempted to never show my face again My daughter now runs inside because she can't wait to see her favorite hygienist. Dr. Victor is so gentle and explains everything he's doing so it's less scary for the littles. My kids leave with a whole bag of goodies, reward coin and a bubble dance party! They know what they're doing there. So grateful to find a group of folks that love what they do and meet us where we are.

My son had to be put to sleep at the hospital to get a few caps put on and one cap was placed too deep so his gum has been swollen for years since and one cap on his back molar is too big which traps food. It's not too bad supposedly. There was one incident where we got our appointment canceled without being notified and we drover over 1/2 an hr drive there just to find out they canceled ours last minute for an emergency which was a bit upsetting because we were extremely tired from work having to drive that far.

I had called the day before to cancel because I wasn't able to get a sitter for my two very young children. The office manager was so kind, insisting I keep the appointment and that the staff would look out for them. At first I resisted, simply because they are really little and can be a handful. But I soon relented and arrived the next day with my 1 & 4 year olds in tow. The entire staff ooo'ed and aww'ed at them, saying "oh they are just angels!" the whole time. And honestly, they were very well behaved (they save all the mischief for us at home!). But my point is, the staff was as extremely kind; offering to help a busy mom and just performing a kind deed to a person--expecting nothing in return. I love the staff, the clinic is always spotless, their dental work is great -- we are definitely lifers. And I will be dropping the kids off for daycare with them on a regular basis now :) juuuust kidding! Highly recommend!

On top of me feeling too old, she sent me to Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics of Virginia. The staff at PDOVA made it easy to be an adult patient in what seemed to be a children's facility. I've seen several staff members outside of the office in the community, they knew me by name. During the COVID-19 quarantine I had chains break but couldn't get through to the office for an emergency appointment. I saw one of the staff members in a local store, after exchanging pleasantries I explained the challenge of getting an appointment. A few days later I received a call from the receptionist saying the staff member explained my need for an appointment. I was scheduled and able to come in for that emergency visit. Dr Bridges is EXTREMELY thorough and explains treatment plans so that anyone can understand. I would recommend this office and staff to anyone of any age needing orthodontic care! Lisa H

They have a verbal policy that you can't go back with your child after a certain age but that age…read moreis not set. So you have no idea intil that trap you at the appointment. They make you schedule parent visits if you want to go back but don't tell you that's an option until you're stuck with the choice of canceling your appointment if there is a parent already back there. They only allow one parent total in the back room. this is for all patients. So if another kids parent is back there you can't go with your kid. This is for hippa reasons. They claim that the kids do better without the parent but they have never had any reason from my previous visits to claim my kid needed me not back there. They said The dentists can assure the kids they are not scary if the parent is not back there. That was the creepiest thing I've heard. the receptionist also gave me update medical history paperwork unpon checkin but didn't tell me it needed to be returned before being officially checked in so I waiting forever before finally asking what the wait was for. They saw I was done and if I knew I needed to give it to them first instead of when I was called back then I would have. Courtesy says to tell the customer to give it back when complete. some doctors offices just take it when you're called back. It's i consistency with this place so I immediately retracted my care and am going elsewhere
