This is a story all about how my back pain got flipped, turned upside down. Now I'd like to take a minute, just sit right there. I'll tell you how it became way easier to sit in a chair. About 8 years ago, I started experiencing chronic back pain. Massages and my trusty heating pad kept the pain manageable. For years I worried "am I going to eventually need surgery? I really don't want to have to get surgery on my neck." Fast forward to Rona 2020 and cue the worst back and neck pain I have ever had in my life. Apparently, weeks of crouching over a laptop can do that to a person. It was so terrible that I was up all night and would let out a yell every time I would move. Massage places were deemed non-essential! What am I going to do?! I have been an ER nurse for years and I know that this is not something it is appropriate to take to the ER. Although, I can't sleep! I can't even move without being in excruciating pain! What am I going to do?! Google Search: "Are chiropractors considered essential businesses?" "YES! THEY ARE! Oh, there is one by my house! Yes!" I call up Midtown Back & Neck Center. *Please be open, please be open.* "Hello, this is Dr. Crowley!" Internally: *Midtown Back & Neck for the WINNNNNNNNNN!* Dr. Crowley was able to get me in that day and thankfully brought me in three more times that week (each day the pain got easier to manage). By the weekend, I could sleep all through the night and was myself again. He gave me exercises to help me get better and stay better. What could have ended as a trip to the ER, an opioid addiction, or eventual back surgery instead ended with holistic health that is easily managed by daily exercises and some "chiropractic hugs." The Dr was very informative and explained my issue. He wasn't rushing to do X-rays and then an adjustment. Dr. Crowley is an amazing chiropractor. I think it's important to find a chiropractor who not only does adjustments, but also implements important stretching and strengthening exercises, which he does. He actually takes the time to show you the movements and makes sure you are doing them correctly. Cannot recommend him enough. read more

Dr. Terence Crowley is an incredible chiropractor and a caring person. I've been to so many chiropractors throughout my life due to chronic pain, and none come close to his skills. He listens carefully and uses a variety of tools and methods to adjust you. The day I called I was suffering an aemergency, my rib dislocated from my spine while running and It hurt to inhale deeply. I've had back pain starting in high school and have been to several different chiropractors. Dr. Crowley is awesome and has helped my back so much! A few years ago my chronic headaches/migraines started revving up so I found this place and decided to give it a try. My migraines are so much better and have gone from frequent to rare. Another time I was having pain on my right side when I was breathing in and Dr Crowley fixed it with one little adjustment to my side. I also saw him during my most recent pregnancy and I felt like my lower back pain/normal pregnancy aches were much improved. Aside from his skill, there are several things I love about his practice. First, he has walk in hours in the afternoons. You can make an appointment if needed but I appreciate the walk in hours. My husband and I work alternating schedules, both in careers in which we never know if we will get off work on time. That plus three young children makes it difficult to schedule appointments and make them on time. I love that I can just pop in when I'm free. I don't think I've ever sat in the waiting room more than 10 minutes. Another thing I like is that he doesn't pressure me into committing to more visits. Other chiropractors I've seen have recommended getting adjusted 2-3 times per week for X number of weeks and then slowly reducing the number of visits. Honestly, I'm not made of money and having a doctor pressure me into a schedule like that stresses me out. I'm sure if I asked Dr Crowley for a scheduled treatment plan like that he would give me one but I appreciate his patient centered approach (rather than business centered). Lastly, Dr. Crowley seems to genuinely care about me, my health, and my family. He seems to have a great memory and asks me how my husband and kids are doing. I've had to bring my kids with me to a few adjustments and he was great with them and tried to involve them. This is such a difference from other doctors I've been to that seem irritated that my kids are there and view them as an impediment. I'm glad to have found a place I love and will definitely bring my children and husband there if they need services in the future. read more

It appears that a complete lack of physical exertion and regular exercise has left me predisposed to periodic episodes of paralyzing, blinding pain in my neck and back. The only way to self-treat it was to stay completely immobile for about a week and then it would subside. One morning I woke up with an incredible shooting pain in my lower back. I could not stand up or sit down without screaming. Called up Midtown Back & Neck and they were able to see me the same day. I was looking for any kind of relief...I was hoping they could make the pain subside just enough for me to be able to get up off the toilet and use the restroom properly without crying. Instead, I was completely blown away by how well the treatment worked. I was in there less than a 1/2 hour, and left feeling completely normal. I cannot recommend Dr. Crowley and Midtown Back and Neck enough. If you have back pain, neck pain, whatever...go there. I have had back problems for nearly 10 years. After many horrible experiences with chiropractors who wanted to see me 3 times a week at $30 a visit for 4 weeks at a time, I became anti-chiropractor; until I met Dr. Terence Crowley. He is so generous and cares about the pain I am experiencing. His full focus is all about fixing the problem, which he does in a timely manner. He never insists on a ridiculous number of visits, but states to come in when needed. He has amazing equipment that I had never seen in a chiropractic office that assists in relieving my pain. I find his office to be a welcoming and quiet atmosphere where I feel my needs will be fulfilled. He also takes walk-ins which I find amazing considering my crazy, hectic schedule.
