I also called various days at various times to speak to a manager and never got a response. Now I'm getting bombarded with texts and emails to pay a past due balance. It would've been nice to get a response to my own calls and emails the way I'm getting bombarded to pay a balance I do not owe. The gym itself was ok, but I found it to be dirty every single time I visited, and the employees I encountered were not friendly, besides Mel. Clearly, a timely response to paying customers by management is an issue judging by all these reviews....... ***I'm now being hounded to pay a $25 fee from last April, or the bill will be sent to collections. The manager Josh was extremely rude and not helpful. Avoid this place at all costs, you seem to get treated like trash if you don't fit their mold. Why am I being hounded for a fee that you've waived for other members? I was told to give my card information over the phone so they can charge me, and got nothing but sass and attitude from the manager. Extremely poor customer service seems to be the go to here.

He is a certified trainer and focused on a holistic approach to health. The gym itself is great. It's appointment only so you never have to wait for a piece of equipment. In addition, there are a lot of exercises you can do here that you can't in a regular gym. Fun things such as pounding a sledge hammer on a 350 lb tire. As well as rolling the same heavy tire across the gym. If you have the chance to work out with Andrew and follow his advice (He is always available by text) you will see results.

It was life changing to say the least. I have learned so much! When I started, I felt very intimidated by the gym, I was scared to hurt myself and felt lost when I felt motivated enought to get myself into the gym. SST changed that for me completely! I have been away for about a month now and I just did an "in body" analysis and have continued to hit my goals by following what I have learned. I have gone back and checked in with my wonderful trainer by adding a-la-carte sessions and I am thankful for them. One of my LIFE/FITNESS goals was to do a pull up. Only with STT's help was I finally able to do one. I will never forget this personal achievement. I cannot wait to get back in with the team of amazing and professional trainers in the future.

The only complaint I can muster up is sometimes the hydromassage doesn't work properly and is out of order, but really that doesn't change the process of my workout, just like to hit it at the end!

The Story of Anabolic Eli Boy A Tale of Trainers, Transfers,…read moreand One Very Powerful Name Badge On July 30th, I attempted to schedule a trainer session through the Planet Fitness app. Unfortunately, the app showed that not a single trainer was available. Since I needed a trainer for an injury, I called the gym to find out what was going on. That's when I encountered Anabolic Eli Boy. Anabolic Eli Boy informed me, rather curtly, that they simply didn't have any trainers and apparently couldn't find anyone to hire. He said they might have someone in a few weeks, but there were no guarantees. Fair enough. Things happen.Trying to solve the problem myself, I asked whether another Planet Fitness in the area might have a trainer available. "Sure," Anabolic Eli Boy said. I called the Planet Fitness on Kerry Forest Parkway. They told me they had a trainer available and that there was no problem. The only catch was that I would need to transfer my membership. So I called the Monroe Street location back. Anabolic Eli Boy transferred my membership. Problem solved. I went to the Kerry Forest Parkway location, had my training session, and everything went perfectly. The trainer there mentioned that memberships normally have a 90-day transfer window, so I supposedly couldn't transfer back immediately. But then she looked into it and discovered something interesting: the transfer wasn't even necessary. She said she would put a note in the system for the Monroe Street location and that it should be no problem. And that should have been the end of the story. But unfortunately, Anabolic Eli Boy had apparently not finished his villain arc. On Sunday, August 2nd, I showed up at the gym intending to do a quick workout. Instead, I was greeted by Anabolic Eli Boy, who informed me that I could work out--but afterward, I "would not be allowed to return to the gym." Apparently, my membership had somehow transformed from a normal Planet Fitness membership into a temporary diplomatic visa. Naturally, I asked if he could have the manager call me so we could straighten everything out. I gave him my name and phone number. His response? "He will not call you back. He does not call anyone back ever." At this point, I wasn't sure whether I was dealing with a gym employee or a man who had personally declared war on customer service. I then asked Anabolic Eli Boy for his name. His response was a masterclass in hospitality. He grunted, pointed at his name badge, and said: "Read my name badge."Apparently, verbal communication had become an optional feature.I was then instructed to leave the facility immediately. I asked if he was serious. He assured me that he was completely serious and that I needed to leave the gym immediately. So I left. Not because I agreed with him, but because getting forcibly removed by a man whose primary communication technique was pointing at his name badge probably wasn't going to improve things. I left messages at both gyms asking for a manager to contact me so we could resolve the issue. So far? Nothing. No call. No explanation. No manager. Complete and total silence. Which, I suppose, is consistent with Anabolic Eli Boy's warning that "he does not call anyone back ever." At this point, I'm beginning to suspect the manager isn't actually missing. Maybe he's hiding in a secret Planet Fitness bunker beneath Tallahassee. All I wanted was to schedule a trainer to help me work around an injury.Instead, I somehow ended up being transferred to another gym, transferred into a completely unnecessary membership dispute, threatened with permanent exile, told the manager would never call me, and ordered out of the building by a guy who apparently considers his name badge a sufficient substitute for basic customer service. And that is the story of Anabolic Eli Boy. A story about a customer trying to use a service included with his membership...and somehow becoming the gym's most wanted fugitive. Planet Fitness: Judgment Free Zone. Except, apparently, if Anabolic Eli Boy is working the front desk.

No frills, no nonsense, no air conditioning, no cold water, no excuses gym. No problem. I called first. The owner answered with hello. Not Top Dog, nothing but hello. Cool...is this Top Dog? He says yes. No big deal. I ask about the class that afternoon. Explaining that I'm in town temporarily and typically go to Orange Theory, does their class compare? He says there are many similarities, though no treads and I can work at my own level. First visit is free, so I take the chance. Parking is bad. It is a pot hole laden lot behind the building. They have a large storefront that looks like it is closed. So go to the back and up the steps. Obese in, I find the guy in charge. Told him I was here for the class. He said I'd likely be the only one there so he would explain the work out. Great. The workout is written in chalk on the walls. Very cool. He runs through the workout with me and then, I'm on my own. Now, understand I walked in and knew I wasn't in a jazzercize class. I did not expect them to hold my hand. That being said, the guy that was in charge, did keep one eye on me. Occasionally checked on my progress. He corrected my form on a few exercises and was available when I needed him. I deducted a star for not ending the 'class' with a guided stretch and deducted a star for the advertising a class that really isn't a class. It's more of a workout guide that was really challenging but doable. When I think of a class though, I think of a bit more attention and someone motivating you throughout. Being I was the only one there, I understand why he continued to do his own workout...but, not a class. BUT...as I said in the beginning. This college town gym isn't looking for soccer moms that are looking to tone up. If I was a college guy or gal looking for a place that would challenge me, this is perfect. AND, I would go back! I was incredibly sore. I did some of my own stretching, but not enough. The workout was AWESOME. It just isn't a class.
