I took the accelerated CFI course at MCA and I was blown away with the quality and quantity of instruction. For those who can handle an accelerated course, this is the place to go. Expect to eat, sleep, and breath aviation for the time you spend here, and you will excel. Fabio was amazing for the ground instruction. It can be hard to sit for 8 hours a day to learn all the required ground knowledge, but Fabio had a way to make those days just fly by and I learned so much from him. The flight instruction was also very well structured in my opinion with at least one flight a day, multiple flights when the schedule permits. Justin and Jaedoo were fantastic flight instructors, and I could tell they cared about my success and progress through the course. I was able to complete the CFI course including the check ride in 11 days, spending most days at the airport for 10-12 hours studying and preparing myself. Came here and did my CFI,CFII, and Multi Add-on. I've been through multiple flight schools and this was by far the best. The instruction from the ground instructors and the flight instructors was the best I've ever received. The general manager Joti is fantastic. Super helpful and extremely accommodating. I've been to Midwest Corporate Air multiple times, earning my ASEL and AMEL Commercial ratings, CFI, CFII, as well as Complex Airplane and High Performance airplane endorsements...so, after this much time spent at MCA, would I recommend it to others? There are those who will not find their fit at MCA. If you need your hand held, told what, how, and how MUCH to study so that your next lesson isn't just a rehash of the previous, This probably isn't your spot. Are you likely to spend more evenings drinking than studying and preparing? Stay home and don't waste the valuable time of your flight instructor. If you bring an attitude that you're the greatest pilot since Maverick and Hangman, stay home and impress your buddies at the local flight school. Midwest Corporate Air is an ACCELERATED flight program. The teaching moves fast and successful students are highly prepared and focused. The instructors expect you to show up sharp, ready to fly, have studied the materials, assume you will listen to their feedback, and will ask questions when you do not understand. From what I've observed, the successful students are those who are not afraid to advocate for themselves and their needs...it's a busy place, but they're right there for you if and when you need support in your learning and progress. The school has excellent instructors and Evan, the school's operations manager, is right on top things. Should you need anything in your learning, go see him; he listens, is responsive, and wants you to succeed. When Evan says he'll get back to you, it isn't just lip service; he's checking in with the instructional team and helping bring together the best MCA has to offer in order to help you meet your goals. The addition of Evan to MCA since my earlier experiences attending their programs has added a level of responsiveness and point of contact is a huge plus! The instructional staff at MCA is amazing. I worked with two excellent instructors named Jeremy and Kimi. Jeremy is extremely technically adept and led the ground school portion of the CFII training. There isn't a ton of excitement when it comes to learning the ins and outs of such things as GPS and VOR navigational systems, the guts of a Garmin G1000, or how to teach a student to fly a DME arc, but Jeremy found a way. Plus, he's such a nice person that you leave his classes simply wanting to do him proud. Kimi? He's the most committed flight instructor I've ever met, period. The man will come in early, stay late, answer texts at any hour of night, problem-solve your challenges like nobody's business. Direct, to the point, honest, knowledgeable, committed...I've never met a CFI as committed to his student's success as Kimi. Steve and Joti Buchenroth, the owners of MCA, are two of the highest quality people one can meet and are utterly committed to its success. Steve is the most hands-on owner I've ever known and I can't imagine someone more committed to its success. Joti, similarly, is the heartbeat of the school; she's likely the first person you'll speak with on the phone and if you ever run into her when she doesn't have a smile on her face and the warmest greetings, then you've experienced something I certainly never have. read more

As good as it gets. I would highly recommend Midwest Corporate Air to anyone I know. Everyone here is nice and they take great care of their airplanes. I can't thank them enough for their professionalism and instruction. Steve cares about helping students reach their goals and is one of the kindest people I've ever met. They offer accelerated CFI & multi-engine courses. If you are from out of town, there are apartments to rent through the school as well. I had a hard time getting in touch with the school even before they charged me the deposit. After reading the reviews, I agree that their communication could be improved. I made over 15 calls and sent emails trying to schedule training, but didn't hear back. Finally, last week, I was able to reach Joti on the phone and submitted the deposit form with my preferred start dates. After I submitted it, the school stopped responding. I tried to confirm the dates for a week with no luck, so I decided to cancel. If they can't communicate, I'm inclined to believe some of the other negative reviews. I'm glad I read Richard R.'s review. I may have dodged a hassle. read more

If I could give this place ZERO stars I would. It was so abysmally run and so incredibly disorganized. It was a terrible experience from day 1. Out the gates, the point of contact is either overworked or doesn't care Bc she takes forever & a day to return your calls. She sent me the wrong dates AND Wrong information. Then she ghosted me when I arrived at the airport. I sat around for hours before someone finally got back to me & told me how to locate the transportation. They do provide vehicles for use. But you have to pay the exit ticket price so it's Russian roulette as to if it's going to cost you a Small fortune or not. The ground school classes are informative, which might be the only plus, but they're jammed full so that once you finish class you're contending with, not only your own classmates, but also the classes of different ratings ahead of you to check ride. To make matters worse, They don't have enough planes OR DPEs (even tho they advertise in-house DPEs) So even if you do complete your course in a timely fashion, You're just sitting around waiting and waiting and waaaaaiting for them to schedule you for anything. Once they DO schedule you (at literally the 11th hour the night before) their communication is so bad that if you're not constantly looking up the schedule, you won't even know you have a flight time. They'll also cancel you without letting you know. Nothing like your check ride being axed when you're trying to mentally prepare. They advertise classes as accelerated 10 Day courses (with some wiggle room for unforeseen situations like weather) but I went well past that & spent 35 days there. They offer housing at $100/ night but when your 2 week Course stretches to more than double the expected AND ADVERTISED time frame while you're sitting around unable to fly do to lack of planes and instructor availability, it's hard not to stress out in an already highly stressful situation. They have a wide range of instructors at the school. Some really are top notch but others are so incredibly inexperienced that they actually hinder & delay you in your journey to obtain your ratings so you're forced to waste MORE time & money than you planned for. At one point, several students who had the ability to do so LEFT the school with the intention to come back to take their tests Bc the alternative of sitting Around twiddling your thumbs waiting in a looooong line of check ride ready students was too wasteful. I've heard that the school was previously reputable and once provided a good experience. But they've either gotten greedy, complacent, lazy or all 3 Bc as far as My experience goes, this place was a disorganized, disfunctional, poorly managed experience that I barely survived. If you have another Option I'd highly recommend looking elsewhere Bc as of writing this they are currently grid locked with several large classes slated to arrive soon to add to the chaos. read more

Let me start by saying I'm not complaining that I lost my $1,000 deposit but how unprofessional this place is. I submitted a deposit at 7 PM and the next morning (unfortunately for me) my local school said they could start my CMEL training immediately due to a cancellation. I sent a request to ask if I could get my deposit back at 10 AM the next morning, 15 hours later and being it's non refundable obviously I was told no, so that is what it is. But I sent a text saying verbatim "I understand, but I asked for this not longer than 15 hours later. I could understand if this affected your schedule, but do you not see how this is more than ridiculous?" which was followed up with Joti calling me and going off about how disrespectful I was. I have never had such an unprofessional phone call when all I did was use the word ridiculous. She and Steve both basically just proceeded to belittle me and talk to me like I was a child. I dodged a bullet unknowingly by not completing my training here. Save yourself the lack of professionalism and maturity and go somewhere else, literally anywhere else. read more
