Having had a good experience previously with FCI (specifically Oakbrook Terrace, now Hinsdale), we decided to work with FCI Glenview due to being close to my work. Let's just say we were glad we made the switch and to one very close to home! From day one, working with AFCC was smooth and comforting. Insurance costs were discussed up-front, so we knew what was our responsibility. Each appointment was welcoming and generally convenient. On a side note, when I was at FCI, they opened their doors at 6:30 am for blood work and ultrasounds. The Crystal Lake location is open at 7:30 am...a little less convenient for those who need to go to work early but not a deal breaker. However, I only saw Dr. Irani during the initial appointment and worked mostly with his nurse, Ashley, for every blood draw and ultrasound. It looks like communication though with Dr. Irani and Ashley was solid because I can proudly say that I am 2 weeks pregnant from a successful IUI procedure (and after the 1st try!!). They know what they are doing! I will be seeing Dr. Irani for my last appointment, which will be for an ultrasound and I believe, final consultation. Thanks again, Dr. Irani, Ashley, and the rest of the AFCC team! We highly recommend this place to those living in this area!

I never once had a misstep in appointments, phone calls, medication etc. I was actually surprised at how quick the staff is to answer questions and set up appointments as I am sure I am not the only patient! While I hope I never have to recommend anyone close to me to a fertility clinic, if I do, I will recommend AFCC. His success rates speak for themselves. I urge you to look at health care and physician review sites as well in your research of his reviews and credentials as you will find hundreds of positive reviews. My experience with Invia Fertility has been extremely disappointing and heartbreaking. I often felt…read morelike I was a number and a source of revenue rather than a patient going through one of the most emotional and difficult experiences of my life. The communication and patient care were very poor. I frequently had to explain my history and what I needed in almost every message, and I often had to follow up multiple times just to get a response. The nurses also frequently appeared unhappy or frustrated, which made an already stressful experience even more difficult. Blood draws were often unnecessarily painful, and I had multiple negative experiences with different nurses. The most devastating issue involved my husband's frozen sperm. My husband previously had testicular cancer, and the sperm samples stored at the clinic represented the only sperm we had available. Despite this extremely important information being in our medical history, all of his stored sperm samples were used without us being properly informed. We now have no sperm remaining. This is something we can never get back, and the fact that we were not adequately informed and that our file apparently was not properly reviewed is incredibly difficult to accept. We retrieved 18 eggs and used 7 of my husband's sperm samples and ultimately ended up with only one embryo. We paid for PGT testing. The result came back stating that no DNA was detected. After the embryo transfer, I unfortunately suffered a miscarriage. To determine whether the embryo had a chromosomal abnormality, we needed genetic testing on the sample collected after the miscarriage. This became another extremely frustrating experience. The order for the genetic testing was apparently never properly sent to the laboratory/clinic. My sample was stored for weeks without the testing being completed, and I had to repeatedly follow up with the clinic and with Dr. Karande to find out what was happening. I contacted them several times trying to get answers, while feeling like I was once again having to fight to get someone to take care of something that should have been handled properly from the beginning. Almost two months later, we finally received the results. The results showed Trisomy 15. This was devastating. We were originally told that the PGT result was "no DNA detected," and yet we ultimately learned through testing of the miscarriage tissue that the embryo had Trisomy 15. Had the appropriate genetic testing been properly completed in the first place, we could have had important information about the embryo before proceeding. Patients deserve careful attention to their medical history, clear communication, transparency about what is happening with their eggs, sperm, embryos, and testing, accurate testing, and compassionate follow-up. Based on my experience, I would strongly encourage anyone considering fertility treatment to do extensive research and consider other clinics before choosing Invia Fertility. If I could go back and make the decision again, I would choose another clinic. I wish I had known then what I know now.
