Having had a good experience previously with FCI (specifically Oakbrook Terrace, now Hinsdale), we decided to work with FCI Glenview due to being close to my work. Let's just say we were glad we made the switch and to one very close to home! From day one, working with AFCC was smooth and comforting. Insurance costs were discussed up-front, so we knew what was our responsibility. Each appointment was welcoming and generally convenient. On a side note, when I was at FCI, they opened their doors at 6:30 am for blood work and ultrasounds. The Crystal Lake location is open at 7:30 am...a little less convenient for those who need to go to work early but not a deal breaker. However, I only saw Dr. Irani during the initial appointment and worked mostly with his nurse, Ashley, for every blood draw and ultrasound. It looks like communication though with Dr. Irani and Ashley was solid because I can proudly say that I am 2 weeks pregnant from a successful IUI procedure (and after the 1st try!!). They know what they are doing! I will be seeing Dr. Irani for my last appointment, which will be for an ultrasound and I believe, final consultation. Thanks again, Dr. Irani, Ashley, and the rest of the AFCC team! We highly recommend this place to those living in this area!

I never once had a misstep in appointments, phone calls, medication etc. I was actually surprised at how quick the staff is to answer questions and set up appointments as I am sure I am not the only patient! While I hope I never have to recommend anyone close to me to a fertility clinic, if I do, I will recommend AFCC. Thank you to Dr. C, nurses Ashley, Aminty, Cathy and our embryologist (sorry- no name!) for making this journey a little easier.

I encourage you to do your research on fertility clinics before joining a practice. Struggling to…read moreget pregnant is a hard path physically, mentally and emotionally and you need to be with the right practice for you. While the nurses with Invia were lovely, I felt like a number to the doctors. My questions felt like an annoyance and outside of them doing an initial test to determine why my husband and I could not get pregnant, they stopped trying to solve the problem after it did not work. It felt like they were throwing IUI and IVF at the wall to see if a pregnancy would stick with a vague diagnosis of "unexplained infertility". 30-50% of women who are labeled with "unexplained infertility" end of having endometriosis. Not once was this a possibility brought up by the several doctors I spoke and worked with. I encourage this to be a question asked to your doctors - do a biopsy to help with clarity on your situation. After heartbreaking years here and feeling stuck in the cycle of surgeries and attempts through IUI and IVF, I made the decision to switch practices. This was the best decision because within 3 months I was diagnosed with endo, had a surgery to fix the problem and am now pregnant with our first baby. Everyone's journey is different, but please do your research and trust your gut.

Their supposed "care" is a hollow shell, backed by a staggering lack of basic human decency and bedside manner. The front desk utilize financial exploitation by refusing to process essential, pre-paid leave of absence paperwork needed for my wife to heal from our catastrophic failed transfer but instead require her to be in a current cycle which is not possible due to latest procedure and timing. Thru the journey our concerns and reported symptoms were unfortunately met with a refusal to perform requested diagnostic tests. The staff at this office repeatedly dismissed the possibility of an underlying condition, specifically stating that endometriosis was unlikely. This necessitated seeking care elsewhere. Working with other specialists, we were finally able to get the appropriate testing done, which confirmed the diagnosis of endometriosis. This confirmed condition, which was initially ignored, is recognized in medical literature and by other professionals we consulted as the most likely contributor to our failed IVF retrievals and transfer. Their failure to test and early dismissal of our symptoms resulted in both a delay in proper treatment and the loss of viable attempts. They operate on a model of callous disregard. They don't grasp the basic concept that human beings need time to recover. Instead, they immediately pivot to extorting more money from us, pushing for a complete next cycle while my wife's body is still in distress from the last one. Three egg retrievals, one transfer, and zero results--just devastating failure and soul-crushing heartache. Their only priority is the next payment. Avoid this predatory clinic if you want an actual child and a team that values your well-being over their sickeningly profitable cycle-and-repeat business model. Please read this FDA report from this year before committing to using them as well. https://www.fda.gov/inspections-compliance-enforcement-and-criminal-investigations/warning-letters/invia-fertility-specialists-pllc-710632-06132025

I first met Dr. Shashoua after a failed embryo transfer that left me septic, internally bleeding, and in critical condition. I was so sick that I didn't fully understand what was happening -- I was truly dying. Dr. Shashoua stepped in with the urgency, skill, and calm confidence that only an exceptional surgeon can bring. He performed the emergency operation that saved my life, and I will forever be grateful. After stabilizing me, he did something that shows how deeply he cares about his patients: he referred me to a far better fertility doctor because he knew I needed more specialized and attentive care than I had previously received. That referral changed everything for my fertility journey. A few months later, he performed my endometriosis excision surgery and removed my tubes. These were major, life-altering procedures, and he approached every decision with precision, empathy, and extraordinary expertise. I now see him regularly to monitor and manage my endometriosis and infertility, and he continues to provide the highest level of care. What sets him apart is how closely he works hand-in-hand with my fertility doctor, ensuring that every aspect of my treatment is coordinated. My case is extremely complex and often overwhelming, but he has never once made me feel like a burden. He treats me with compassion, respect, and true dedication. If you have endometriosis, fertility challenges, pelvic pain, or any complicated gynecologic or urologic condition, Dr. Shashoua is the doctor you want in your corner. He is an extraordinary surgeon, an exceptional physician, and someone who genuinely cares about his patients' lives and futures. I owe him mine.

Where do I even start? This is going to be long, but the IVF process is difficult, and the decision…read moreas to which clinic to go to is important, so, take your time to read it and don't make the same mistake we did. A little background. Me and my wife do not have fertility issues, we discovered we are both carriers for an extremely rare genetic disease, so that's why we are doing IVF, to not pass it on. Let's start from the beginning. 1. The initial meetings with Dr. Schell should've let us everything we needed to know. She was late for our first few meetings. Not 2 minutes late, like 20+ minutes late. This was after we sat in the waiting room for 30 minutes because no one was working the desk. Why wasn't anyone working the desk? Because the receptionist is not only the receptionist, she's was also the phlebotomist, and ultrasound tech. She did everything. 2. Communication is non existent. As we are going through the process, we are told nothing, we call, we message, time and time again, we can't get a call back, can't get ahold of anyone. It takes weeks (not exaggerating) to get a call from them to answer questions. We are told nothing except "we'll send a message to Dr. Schells team" and we hear nothing for weeks. In spite of the disgusting and shocking lack of communication, we somehow make it to egg retrieval. We have a great success of 27 eggs retrieved. We were so excited! Communication was a little better for a short time, then, it stopped again. We hear nothing, can't get ahold of anyone. Then on November 4th we get a call from Dr. Schell. She calls us to tell us none, zero, as in 0, of our eggs made it to blastocyst. Let me remind you, again, they tested us, and we do not have fertility issues. Heartbroken. Here's where we really get pissed off, Dr. Schell calls us, and doesn't know who we are. She thinks my wife is 26 (she's 33). Then shes talking about a fresh transfer, which we cannot do because the reason we are doing IVF (both carriers for generic disease). So we have to explain to Schell why we can't do that. Unacceptable insanity to call patients and know nothing about them. It's like they don't keep files on their patients. When she made those 2 unacceptable mistakes, I wanted to blow my top on the phone, but that wasn't going to help and it wouldn't them any less incompetent. So, I bit my tongue. 3. Fast forward to November 23rd. After 19 days of trying to contact them and being ignored, we finally hear back. The bad news? Once again they have no clue what's going on. The nurse who calls us has no idea we have already been through a cycle and are currently patients of theirs, no idea we've been trying to go through a 2nd cycle. She's clueless, utterly and completely lost. So this is the 2nd time we've been called and they knew nothing about us. We had to set up a "consultation" with Dr. Schell a week and a half out just to be able to have a conversation with our doctor, or anyone from her team that can answer a single questions for us. Yup, that's correct, we had to set up a consultation thats used for new/prospective patients just to be able to talk try and get questions answered. 4. So, 19 days after we got the bad news none of our embryos made it to blastocyst, they have not even started the process to get us set up for our 2nd cycle. They've sat on their hands and had done absolutely nothing for almost 3 weeks. It was at this point, we decided not to waste anymore time or energy on these idiots. As we are speaking with other clinics, a miracle happens, they CALLED US! They called to tell my wife to get back on birth control, we told them "okay, you got it", and went about our search for a new clinic. The hilarious part is, we never heard from them. As far as they were concerned, we were still going through a 2nd cycle with them. They didn't know we had decided to go to a different clinic. And we never heard from them again! So, if you go here, you will need to harass them non stop or they will literally forget you're there and you won't make it through the process. In conclusion: The IVF process is hard, it's emotional, it's draining. Me and my wife want so bad to just have a healthy child together, and this place is disgustingly incompetent. I can't believe they have a license to practice. As a husband who has had to see his wife go through non stop frustration and pain only to be made worse by the incompetency of this place, STAY AWAY from advanced fertility. This place is a dumpster fire, truly an unmitigated trainwreck. The lack of communication, and competency, it's truly shocking. I can't say enough bad things about them. I could go on for another 500 words about how awful they are. STAY AWAY! DO NOT GO HERE!

Dr. Persino rocks my socks off! I started seeing him about 5 years ago after I moved to the area…read moreand read tons of online reviews of the options nearby. I decided to go to Dr. Persino after reading his really great Google reviews, and now, years later, I'm so happy with my decision! (I think the one review that really stood out to me was a woman who had said she moved 3 hours away but liked Dr. Persino so much that she continued to see him and had him deliver her two subsequent babies, even though she moved far away!). Here's the gist of why I think he's so great: He's been an OBGYN for many years, and is very knowledgable and confident in his abilities. He's hilarious and easy-going, and he really puts my mind at ease, since I tend to be a bit of a worry wort. His great sense of humor and super friendly demeanor make him very approachable and easy to talk to. He has out-of-this-world bedside manner, and does not rush through appointments. He will answer any and all questions you have, chat about random things, and even throw a couple one-liners in for good measure :) He delivered our son three years ago and did an awesome job. He knew I really wanted a vaginal delivery and after hours of labor and pushing, instead of recommending we do a Caesarian to just get it over with, he stuck by my side, cheered me on, and followed my wishes of letting me deliver my son vaginally (even though it probably took longer and was more inconvenient for him). I'm currently under his care for a twin pregnancy. I know Caesarian is more likely with a multiple pregnancy, and he has assured me multiple times that we will try for a vaginal delivery if possible. Knowing I'm a bit scared of a c-section, he has talked to me about the surgery and the whole process, and has really eased my fears. I know that my babies (and I) are getting the very best care under Dr. Persino's watch. I cannot imagine going to anyone else, and I wholeheartedly recommend him! Sidenote: Sometimes office staff can really make or break an office visit experience. I have to say that two people at this office really stand out in particular as consistently being awesome- Sue, his receptionist, and Christa (sp?) are so incredibly friendly and enjoyable to talk to. They've both gone out of their way to help me out on various occasions. I actually look forward to catching up with them when I have an appt. and feel like they really care about the progress of my pregnancy and me! One more thing (as if this isn't long enough!): I like that it's a smaller-ish office and I don't feel like cattle they are just herding through the doors. When I go, everyone recognizes me and calls me by name...not something you usually get with a suburban medical office. Just an added bonus I wanted to mention. Bottom line: If you're looking for an experienced, knowledgable, and super friendly OBGYN- go to Dr. Persino!

Demanded cash under the table in large amounts for further appointments that evidently had included terminating my insurance at appt dates, only for Naperville at one point, and false statements about accepting my insurance that when I went to the insurance company finally they did remedy as well as make sure she no longer was able to withhold records and for cash only for that either. But that is the one criticism I have, which is that office staff are able to and there was nothing I could do about it or the disturbance she was conducting for a good two weeks. At one point she went on at length about how the patients must learn all of their computer systems per office, and its evidently become somewhat like that with and via office managers in general at least at that point. I would actually recommend not returning any manager calls or emails that start like this and instead going straight to the insurance company to get your records and terminate the disturbance. In the long run HRD can sue the companies about staff vs us, but on this basis, ending the disturbance and stranger danger bullying and worse, is all you can do. There is law separating us from them with annual training course training required by HRA, but beyond that, you are being dragged into a war only they benefit from unless forcibly terminated. Licensing almost always also does this, but its also a long drawn out nightmare potentially while they keep going, vs insurance company vs to enforce the law to be on their provider list as clout being waived, able to complain on your behalf if they feel they should. Its pretty much all you can do. Also per insurance co as the only people who will and can protect you from them. And having the same problem reaching anybody who would provide mandatory licensed instead of the office staff. You have a computer system database invasion of your regulated info access by a practitioner unsupervised stranger danger when they do this highly illegal thing to patients and customers. Almost always anonymous due to illegality known to the employee. In banking at one point in the 90s, people like this were "borrowing" savings account deposits as 'free loans' to invest and return that got caught when they couldn't put the money back. The federal court issued a ruling allowing supervisor arrest for not monitoring the employees in that kind of case and theft "under their noses". Here they would need to block employees from unlimited access to our information and supervise them to stop them, and set computer system alarms and triggers notifying practitioners, but so far I know of nobody coming down on practitioners or other entities when staff do this but at US Bank also banking industry. In an analagous in that misuse regard, we now have to go somewhere else also for that much safety from the persons involved, of unknown relationship or what provoked this. But you can get your records out of them which are actually in turns out are supposed to be available on demand for free from the electronic portal but you have to know that and locate them. It was very sad in some ways after that kind of a very positive experience with the doctors who made a real difference vs what it usually seems or can turn into causing nasty problems that shouldn't be there., for years and years, and the office in Naperville or Lutheran General a couple of times. But it seems to be a coming plague with office employees and the public with licensed regulated services that aren't per regulation when the staff can turn them into this with a danger to you if they successfully entrap you into more than terminating the anonymous office person and getting your records, etc. Appears to be computer system office management system created as a problem in general potentially anywhere you go that could happen any time. Always licensed services are immediately out the window when it does. There is so little on practical basis that you can do about it and your safety, with your medical services out the window entirely, that its important to know how to at least get your records so you can get timely care somewhere else if at all possible and the insurance company can address what is supposed to be 30 days notice required also for services with a covering physician and refills, if you can't do it fast enough to go somewhere else in time for any reason.
