There is a pond with paddle boats that you can check out and a swimming pool with a water slide. The beds are standard full and each room has an air conditioner in it for those sweaty nights. If you have more than 4 staying the couch is a futon! I really liked this spot and would consider it again. All of the sites are close together so you don't get the 'alone in the woods' feeling but it's still quiet enough where that's okay.

There is a shallow entry swimming sand beach with free paddle boards, canoes, kayaks all available for anyone to use. They have a water trampoline and a water slide that the kids love. All of the cabins are very close or directly on the shore with a beautiful view. They can coordinate pontoon or boat rental. The large cabin has its own fire pit, otherwise there is a shared fire pit for use. They even have wood chopped and ready for you to use! Owners are passionate about creating a great experience for guests. Would highly recommend if you are looking for a laid back, quiet, relaxing experience.

I decided to take a break as I made my way to Winnipeg. I had no problem pulling into a parking spot. I used the women's washroom. There was a strong bleach smell. This rest stop is maintained extremely well. I liked learning about the Red River ox cart trails. It's nice when you can do a self-guided tour while you take a breather from driving. This rest area was a bit quirky when it came to the vending machines. If you are looking for a snack, the vending machine is inside the building. If you feel like a cold drink, it's located outside. I'm wondering if this outdoor machine works when it's freezing outside during a normal winter day. This year hasn't been normal weather-wise, so this beverage machine seemed to be okay when I was there. If you have a pet, there is an area for pets to stretch and play. It was a colder day when I was here. The trees and snow made this outdoor area picturesque. I'm sure that it's gorgeous during the summer. There was a picnic area that would be perfect to relax and enjoy lunch outside. I like that Minnesota rest stops invite you to submit feedback. The state has decent, nicely maintained rest stops. The rest area has a long sweeping turn which is something I appreciate as it truly helps to slow down the cars as they come off the highway at 75 mph. There is a "front" truck parking area and the car parking in the back is accessible for trucks as well. So keep an eye out for larger vehicles coming through and give them plenty of space. We came back from an afternoon of fishing and my mother's suitcase and jewlery case had been gone through and she was missing $100.00 out of her purse. My purse was also gone through and I am missing $200.00. The cabin was locked and also the windows were closed and locked when we left. We have been calling the local Sheriff and are being told there is nothing they are able to do. We have called Annie the resort management and she will not answer or return our calls. Also the swimming area is so full of seaweed and was green you couldn't swim. The cabin was small and I had to move my bed to shut the door, and you had to side shuffle to get around the bed. Very bad experience at Midway Beach Resort.
