Mauna Loa is the heritage macadamia brand from Hawai'i, and it was an honor for us to work with Aaron to give back to the community that we are both a part of. Aaron is from Hilo, and worked with the local schools that he went to- Kamehameha Schools in creating the mural. We threw a Mauna Loa x Aaron Kai community event that was extremely well received, and our staff have commented on how the mural has lifted morale at the plant, as it is such a beautiful piece that everyone sees on their way to work. She helped me pick out the basic colors for the mural and then a week or so later sent us a sketch. I had one revision to the sketch and she promptly sent it back to us in about another week. My husband went to the shop to talk to the owner and ended up leaving our crane piece with him to frame.
