One…read morewas from a local florist for a team photographer that went by the name They Went Rogue and the other was from a close family friend who said I should hit up a couple named Max and Courtney; turns out Max and Courtney and They Went Rogue are one in the same. After meeting with a few different photographers, They Went Rogue were the clear winners. Style, pricing, creativity, fun, and local! Even though they hadn't done many weddings yet, we were really excited to contract them for ours. Unfortunately, our wedding was scheduled for 21 March 2020 and was postponed (and eventually cancelled) due to the pandemic. To say that They Went Rogue were proactive and flexible would be an understatement. Throughout the months that followed they would regularly send a text or email to check for updates and see how we were doing. Even though no pictures of our wedding would be possible since it was cancelled, we enjoyed every aspect of working with them so much that we decided to contract them for a maternity shoot instead. This would also be relatively new territory for them, but you would never know it looking at the results. Their fun and flexible spirit, keen eyes for utilizing surroundings, creative poses, and quality photo taking skills produced a series of truly remarkable photos that we will cherish for years to come. I've worked with a lot of photographers in different capacities over the years and none have hit the perfect balance of quality, artistic talent, professionalism, and personability as well as Max and Courtney. But when capturing a moment in time becomes extremely personal and important, typically it means doing it yourself. My wife and I had been planning my parent's 50th Wedding Anniversary from across the country in Illinois. Working with my siblings on the Central Coast, we'd called local businesses - arranged for a venue, a cake, catering, flowers, music, wine - just like a wedding. We'd thought of everything...except the most important part. How to preserve this moment for my parents, as well as family friends from around the country! Most of the outfits locally seemed pricey and "corporate". None seemed to understand what we wanted; a candid perspective - something completely non-intrusive, yet planned. Greg at Blue Truck, along with one of his helpers, nailed it! Absolutely seamless and stress-less. Not only this, but he captured video shots of the toasts - which we hadn't even planned and/or requested.
