Very poor workmanship, dishonest, and their promise of "satisfaction guaranteed" means nothing…read more I had a doorway transition where the LVT and transition was not cut parallel to the planks nor the doorway. The carpet installer left us a 2 in overlap, because as he said "it would look stupid if I just fastened it in the current transition". Prior to hiring Floor Coverings International (FCI) to fix this, I was very specific is explaining that the project needed both LVT and carpet expertise to fix the problem. FCI assured me that the technician would be skilled in both LVT and carpet. Further, I asked if my satisfaction with the work would be guaranteed, and FCI promised that it would be. FCI required $250 minimum for any work done. Since the repair involved both LVT and carpet, I figured the cost would be between $300 and $500, so $250 minimum was acceptable. Their installer showed up on time, told us that it couldn't be straightened without LVT work, and he couldn't do that. So he cut the carpet, and placed it under the transition...took less than 10 minutes. Now we were left in a more difficult position than before, as we no longer had the extra 2 in of carpet to work with that the carpet installer had left us. I told FCI that I was not happy with the work. FCI phone call included the installer, and he told me that the problem was the door framing, and that if we were to straighten out the transition, it would look funny since it didn't line up with the door. He said the current transition was parallel to the door. I went to the house, and the installer if full of nonsense. The transition is 1/4 in off of parallel with the doorway, and exaggerates the funny angle. It could have been easily hidden under the door, contrary to the claim of the installer. I sent a picture to FCI, and their comment was "we will fix that for an additional $425, in addition to the $250 we already agreed to". While he did agree to reducing that by $125, he would not be able to do the repair within the week. I pointed out that the work was not done correctly, and that $250 for less than 10 minutes of work seems extravagant. FCI's comment: "$250 is simply our minimum". Bottom line: work was not done properly, installed lied about the problem so that he didn't have to do the work, and the satisfaction guarantee meant nothing. I will never hire this company again.

Called Allmans, they spoke with them which calmed them for a minute or two. Years later we are still dealing with the poor installation (the carpet is great, but it buckles due to their horrible work). The wood floors upstairs were split between one good installer and one of the Allman sons. He clearly wanted to be somewhere else. Once he was done with the job, he swept all the dust and leftover pieces into the middle of the room and left. We thought he was coming back. Two days and a few phone calls later we cleaned it up ourselves. Maybe they've improved by now. I'm not going to take that bet to find out.

We did our theater room in Kane and, because of a sample of Kane they have in their showroom, we loved it so much, that we are engineering our entire great room remodel off of that one piece of carpet and are so excited. Alec and Kurt are awesome. We love the girls working in the office, too. In fact, everyone is awesome. It is like family, there. We have used Allman's many time over and see no reason at all to look elsewhere.

Long review incoming. I dealt with Vama initially from out of state before moving into my condo, thinking based on positive reviews and my realtor being around that I could trust them to install floors properly without constant supervision. Boy, was I immensely wrong. It's been over a year, and I am still mad about my ongoing interactions with this company. Worst home services company I have dealt with in SLC. Initial problems: we showed up and were shocked to find that they hadn't bothered re-attaching any of our base boards, many of which they broke. Our garage was full of trash from the install, such that I couldn't park until they agreed to send someone back to clean up. Trash was left in our bathroom. Floor boards were installed crookedly and in some cases IN THE WRONG ROOMS. They put floor in our bathrooms where we didn't ask for it and didn't put floor in our closets where we had requested. Disaster. My first priority was getting the base boards dealt with. Sam initially claimed that it's normal for them to break base boards but when I pointed out that even their install guy admitted TO ME that he had done a particularly bad job because he was rushing to head to California (wtf), Sam did send me 400 to partly cover the expense of the handyman we had come make new base boards, as many of ours throughout the house were unsalvageable. But this took so much wrangling to finally have base boards and floors installed in our closet, that I didn't fight with them about re-installing flooring that looked like it was cut by someone who didn't know how to use a saw to cut in a straight line (again, see the pictures). That was my mistake. Fast forward over a year and floor is coming unattached so I finally reach out to see if I can get the rest of these issues fixed. At this point I finally get back in touch with Vama. Saga with customer service begins again as they repeatedly ignore my calls and give me a run around claiming they will call me back, not calling me back, rinse and repeat. Sam tells me it's been over a year and so this is damage caused by me. I ask how I could have caused my floors to be installed in wavy lines and get no answer. Great. I manage to waste a bunch of time trying to communicate with these people until they ghost again. So, here is this long overdue review. Do not do business with this company unless you want floors that look like what you see in these photos. Photo 1: Floor board with non-trivial chunk missing from the corner that was installed on the stairs Photo 2: Noticeably large wavy gap between edge of closet metal track and floor board. Photo 3: Roughly inch gap where they just didn't bother finding a piece that actually would fit to cover the whole ground of our closet. Absolutely wildly bad craftsmanship there. Photo 4: Again, board cut and installed in a wavy line next to our closet. Precision? Never heard of it. Wish I still had photos of the base board carnage on hand, but that will require me going quite a ways back in my phone
