The previous reviews were spot on. For the price it's not terrible but the rooms are not well taken care of. For a night or two it's fine, unless you are upstairs in the back by the prostitutes and drug addicts using it as their residence. I even complained and asked to be moved but was told they were sold out. That's funny because I just looked and there are still rooms available. Bottom line, I know you get what you pay for but the poor customer service by the daytime employee with the glasses really drove me to leave this review.

My husband and I stayed here about 8 years ago, pre COVID, and had a great stay. We planned a trip to Universal Studios and decided to stay again. Yikes, this place fell off. The room, specifically the bathroom was grimy and looked as if it hadn't been cleaned in quite a while. The desk table was covered in something sticky and all of the pillows were lumpy. Some of the outlets also didn't work. It's close to Universal, cheap, and has a microwave/fridge. I wouldn't stay here again just out of concern for cleanliness.

We booked through Hotwire and were given Mikado Hotel. The hotel and room were a bit run down and very old looking. We were given room 221 and the decor was old, the light in the room and outside the front door were not working. There weren't enough plugs in the room and a few of them weren't working properly. There was also a spider crawling on the ceiling in the bathroom. On the plus side, the Mikado Hotel had the basic necessities of staying at a hotel. There were 2 beds, a TV, free wifi, mini fridge and microwave, bathroom, and a decent balcony. There was breakfast, but it wasn't much... just some coffee, juice, and granola bars. Parking was $5 per night and we were able to park right infront of our room. They don't have an elevator and you need a key to access the lobby bathroom. The cleaning staff made our room each day, which was nice. Overall, the Mikado Hotel was old and was not functioning perfectly, but it's okay for a short stay.

Pretty gross room. I wanted to turn around as soon as I got in, but had a quick 2 nite trip to visit a friend who'd had heart surgery so didn't have time to be driving all over LA and using up time. The carpet was pulling up in multiple places, a cord running underneath one area that seemed lightweight dangerous, the refrigerator made a disruptive noise all night, and the drapes didn't pull across completely so the light from the pool area/ restaurant patio came in. The toilet takes multiple flushes to work. I can't believe they charge for this room. Upon checkout I was advised to email, which I did a few days ago and have yet to receive a response. I've tried numerous times to get a hold of the hotel and somehow one phone line they have gets disconnected each time I call, and the other one is some seemingly an ai voice that doesn't know how to respond so disconnects as well. Tbh this all could have been rectified with a response at time of check out, or an email response, or a phone line that doesn't hang up and/ or goes to an actual person.

Was here with my family and this hotel wasn't that bad, you for sure get what you pay for. The carpet was lifting in the corners as other reviews said and had stains all around; and the rooms do look old but we didn't see any bugs which was a definite plus. Our tv had white spots on it and we couldn't connect my laptop to the tv as the remote didn't work to change the input. Hopefully with the renovations they upgrade the rooms interior and tvs. However the pool was nice and the parking is only $5 a day which was a steal to us.

    stained curtains

Zero stars - STOP !! do not stay at this hotel - This place is filthy dirty- looks nothing like the pictures they show online. Stains on the walls and curtains, peeling wallpaper, dirty carpets. We were afraid to sleep here for fear of bed bugs but we had no choice since we arrived late and had to get up early for an event. The manager will not even call or email me back regarding our horrific stay Did I mention we saw dead roaches outside the door. Go down the street to the Mariposa - which was lovely save yourself from this horrible place

Not having tv on New year eve!!!!!
    N B.

This is ZERO star review! I stayed at Mikado over New Year's Eve, and the experience was far from satisfactory. The sheets were dirty, the room lacked basic cleanliness, and the TV didn't work at all. When I reported the issue, the staff informed me there was no one available to fix it, leaving me without a functioning TV on New Year's Eve. The service and attention to detail were below standard, with a clear lack of luxury or care for guests' comfort. This place managing by Chiness/ Indian so you should not expect quality service or a special experience!! I dont recommend this inn which is like motel 6.

    sky-light causing the dead pixels

You get for what you pay for. Nothing fancy; small basic bathroom (with good water pressure in the shower), Queen bed clean (but on the firm side), head board a bit dated, but ok. The room has a small refrigerator and a small microwave. Several down-sides; a sky-light with no way to block out the sun, carpet is old and very, very used, and the TV has dead pixels due to the position of the TV to the sky-light. 1 major question everyone usually ask is, "Would you stay there again". My answer would be "No" 80% of the time, but if I was on a budget like I was this time, I would stay there again. If I had a bigger budget for a hotel, I would stay somewhere else. The location was perfect for what I fly into Burbank, CA for, but again I had a budget and that's why I stay where I stayed.

I was issued a room key . 3 hours later they kicked me out

The service is horrible here ! Ricardo is rude and very unprofessional. I stayed here 2 nights, because I was referred by a friend. I decided to come back for a second night. I called to make a reservation over the phone , the lady Toni took my credit card information 4 different times . I had to ask if she understood everything and if she was ok. I finally arrived at the hotel and handed her my credit card and room key . And went to my room to lay down . 3 hours later I receive a phone call from the front desk , telling me that I forgot to sign . I apologized and told him I'd be there shortly. I went to the bathroom and I hear the phone ringing again. Ricardo tells me to also bring my credit card . . Mind you I gave the card to Toni 4 different times and I stayed there the night before. When I get to the desk Ricardo apologized and told me my card was not working. I asked him to try it again and it still didn't go through, Ricardo tells me that I must " leave if the card isn't working " . I told him there was enough money on the card and it seems like fraudulent activity. Ricardo said " if you can't pay you need to leave now" ! Completely Loud and disrespectful. I told him to hold my card and I needed to go get my phone and call my bank . He unreasonably told me I had to leave immediately. I ended up. Having to call the police myself. I told Ricardo that toni took my payment many times over the phone. He told me that they don't take payments over the phone but then said that " Toni tried the payment that didn't go through!?!?! . I was also issued a room key and was asleep for hours . Ricardo told the police that he wanted me out because I was upset! I wasn't violent, rude , or disrespectful. I was definitely upset because Ricardo made no sense whatsoever. And I was kicked out of the hotel at 1am with 4 pending transactions of $234 each . What horrible customer service. Ricardo should be fired immediately for his disgusting attitude and unprofessional personality . Toni needs to be retrained. Please do not waste your time here. It was an awful experience. I was back in town visiting and this was a horrible place to stay ! The mistreatment was unacceptable!

do not stay here!!! stay away from this place. idk why hotels.com would recommend these type of hotels. wall paper is falling apart, there is no customer service, they dont refund your deposit and they are rude!!!! stay away, theres other hotels better than this place.

How does this person work here, let alone exist. Everything was fine with this establishment until this morning. I was in the lobby making coffee and this person rudely told me to move. "I have to get creamer for this other gentleman." I was in the middle of making coffee and I couldn't move immediately, yet he continued to ask me to move. Then he talks to the other guest in Spanish like I don't exist trying to bring him into the conversation. His tone and actions were rude and unjust. It was 7am in the God damn morning. And he continues to argue with me in the lobby. What a horrible experience. Yet alone to continue arguing with me in front of my 6 year old child. Telling me how bad I was to be arguing in front of my child. He has no right to be arguing with me about my child!

    Tv wasn't work!!!
    Farhad M.

The TV wasn't working, and when I brought it up with the front desk, they rudely told me, "You pay just for the room, not the TV!" This was the worst experience I've had, and I will definitely be disputing this charge. The property was extremely dirty and outdated. The staff, who appeared to be of Indian and Chinese descent, were very rude and lacked basic customer service skills. They had no idea how to properly address guest concerns.

Cockroach killed after being stepped on

**DO NOT VISIT** *HEALTH HAZARDS** *HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE** This place literally has live ROACHES in their rooms. If you let them know they will completely walk around the situation and avoid giving you any sort of refund besides a 5 dollar parking fee waiver. This is completely unacceptable. This hotel is completely unsanitary and I already reported them to the health department :) It is also commonly reported that these dirty people have bed bugs between their mattresses. Their towels also stink and so does the room fridge. They do NOT take even a minute of their time to wipe out the fridge so it smells horrid. These people are so lazy and do not care about you, your experience, or your money.

The clerk wasn't outright rude, but for the first several minutes seemed pretentious, like I wasn't good enough to stay there. He didn't introduce himself or ask my name; I introduced myself and asked his name after check-in, and he warmed up a bit. It felt like I'd caught him doing something wrong or arrived before he was ready. I had to ask multiple questions because he didn't offer information or engage. My customer service was on point--his, not so much. I'd been driving all day and was exhausted, wearing very casual clothes, but he felt very judgey. I asked to see the rooms after reading reviews. The first was rundown and not worth the $150 he quoted. He kept going into the back office between questions, implying he was busy or nearly full (there was only one car outside). When I asked to see the other side of the hotel, which had allegedly been updated, he bragged about being fully booked, though I only ever saw three cars. Odd. The second room was just okay, but I was too tired to find another hotel, so I stayed one night. Few things frustrate me more than visible neglect and lack of detail. There were drywall screw heads popping out, scuffed walls, holes, and water-damaged bathroom drywall from a poorly placed glass shower door--crumbling onto the floor. The floor itself was dirty. The outer entry door was peeling badly, shedding bits of clear coating onto the floor and my hands. The blinds appeared to not have been cleaned in months--which should be done regularly. The bed frame was filthy--dust, debris, bits of wrappers and food. It was clearly dirty, with oils, handprints, and dried liquids (I'll leave that to your imagination). The closet doors, off-white, had visible hand grime. The disinfectant wipes I used were brown - yuck. The lamp was dusty, an outlet near the bed had a broken metal piece stuck inside, and both the bathroom vent and hair dryer were caked with dust. The dryer filter hadn't been cleaned in ages. The countertop above the mini fridge was detaching, the bathroom shelf was decaying, and the shower glass hadn't been cleaned. The creamy drip marks on the wall--hopefully conditioner or soap--remained, and the grout was mold-stained. A simple bleach spray would've fixed it. The shower water pressure was awful, with calcification that needs vinegar soaking. It also leaked from the stem. Meanwhile, the sink had too much pressure. The cleaning staff were wonderful--always offering help. The issues here clearly stem from management, not staff. I realize this isn't a four-star hotel and that my standards are higher than average. Having worked in property management and emergency response, I've been in many homes across all conditions and know what "clean" should look like. I attached photos (which don't even capture all of it) so others can decide for themselves. Public beds and showers should be cleaned frequently so dust, germs, and bugs don't build up. The initial clerk did warm up by the end, and wasn't outright rude, just awkward and pretentious at first. When I checked out, a different man was working. He was extremely pushy, insisting I stay longer despite me saying I had to get back on the road. Then he handed me a clipboard and said it was mandatory to fill out--a sheet listing my name, room number, and space for comments, stacked under previous guests' notes. I told him I'd review the hotel online instead. He insisted I fill in each section, so under "comments" I wrote "review on Yelp." Other than being pushy, he was friendly--but it was an annoying end to a stay that wasn't worth the cost. Not the worst stay I've had, but definitely not one I'd repeat.

We had 4 people traveling and 4 people were not going to fit into the 1 king room. When we asked to be switched, they offered us a roll in bed, which was the size of a twin bed, would not fit two adults. When we got up to our room, there was hair on the wall between the shower and the toilet, making us feel like it was not cleaned thoroughly. Our electric car was charging on site and we were running back and forth doing things for the wedding, setting up, etc. No one informed us that there would be an additional charge if we were still parked there after our car was done charging. $58 later and when we mentioned that in our review through the hotel, they said they'd comp our food bill, which was 2 drinks and a fruit bowl, probably $20+. This was disappointing to my mom, who went beyond her means to stay on site for the wedding. This was completely disappointing as we were traveling for a wedding that took place on site. 2 of us were luckily able to stay in the luxury suite which was reserved for the groom get ready room (2 nights). If those stars hadn't aligned, we would not have been able to sleep comfortably in our 1 king room. Also, the suite does not have a microwave in it, we had to request one to be brought up, which I found unconventional. My cousin had their wedding here for how much money my aunt spent between the suite, a bride get ready room, and just the general costs of a wedding, it was disappointing to hear she had a difficult experience here as well. She mentioned that they pulled her away from her son's wedding reception to place her credit card down for incidentals. Why hadn't that happened beforehand? They had her card on file already between all the rooms she booked, so the fact that they took her away from this once in a lifetime experience is ridiculous. She also mentioned that they asked not only for her card info but for her ID. She told them she was not going out of her way to find that when she didn't have it on hand and they were in the middle of celebrating. Needless to say, it was an unfortunate experience this time around. I've been here before and didn't experience the lack of professionalism we experienced this time. The valet service and the staff that supports with luggage were very helpful and kind. It saddens me to have to write such a poor review for such a beautiful place. I have recommended this place to people in the past for general lodging. However, for weddings or any big event, this is not the best of places to host.

The Enchanted Manor was the first place we looked at and we both felt that it was the right fit. Georgia has created a little oasis in her back yard that we felt fit our vibe - lowkey, but classy. We had booked originally for approximately 60 guests, however once all the pieces fell into place we were closer to 50. Unfortunately our guest count dropped below 50 just after our window to let Georgia know, but she was kind enough to offer us the price difference. We applied that balance towards renting some heaters and lighting the fire pits as the weather got colder than anticipated, as well as to handling the trash. (Pay attention to the contract, you are responsible for removing trash or there is a fee.) One thing I didn't realize before booking was that there is space for a kitchen, but it needs to be built out for your event, so make sure you consider that into any costs. Georgia was really helpful and responsive to all of our questions (we had so many) and anything that we couldn't do she had very reasonable reasons. (For example, at one point I thought I'd like confetti, but she explained why she doesn't allow that on her property which made total sense!) The weeks before I became worried that there wasn't enough decor, so we bought some items that we ended up returning. Once the rentals arrived, combined with the lighting, everything was beautiful as it was. Though there is excellent lighting, I would recommend watching your step as we did have a few tripping incidents (that were not alcohol fueled in some cases) as the ground changed. It was more due to the way things were spaced and we'd have to make sure to look down as we stepped around things, but we managed to survive. We've started to see some photos and everything looked beautiful; it was a romantic but relaxed vibe which was just what we wanted. I worried it wouldn't feel like a wedding, but it did. Georgia was a gracious host, our guests enjoyed her home (we made sure to tell them that they could rent it as well for an overnight getaway) and we can't wait to start reading her book. She gave us the sweetest compliment after, saying how kind our guests were and how that spoke to who my husband and I were as well. We stayed in touch after the wedding and I hope we meet again in the future for events or just a dinner to hear of her adventures! PS - her cats were big hits all around, too!

The bar and continental breakfast has been closed as stated on the site, for several years now. There is free coffee and juice (water, apple, orange, and cranberry) though in the lobby. Coffee/latte machine is pretty high tech with several options to choose from on the menu. To be honest, for the bar and breakfast here there is probably no chance that it will open again. Although there are spaces for them, so maybe costs are cut here with less staff. Staff are friendly when you approach them. Parking is private in an underground garage and it's $10. Pretty pricey if you are here for many days, but it is what it is. Wifi is free with room, although it was slow for me so I just used my hotspot. Right now there is construction happening across the street. Other than that, it's a very chill and quiet relaxing spot. Good to be at especially for Universal Studios, under a 20 minute drive during morning rush traffic. I think it's only 2-3 miles away. Location is prime if you want to walk: Several restaurants, shops, and bus/train station is a block or so away. There even is a fire station nearby so that can get noisy sometimes in the middle of the night. You can also use an app to order breakfast or dinner to your door!

I am so glad I took pictures of the roaches in our room. The hotel tried to keep $233 dollars of the $466 dollars because they claimed we stayed in the room and that we didnt report the issue with them! All lies! When the roaches were discovered we left the room within 20 minutes of getting there and reported to the front desk where the guy seem to not care. I found out WHY he didnt care. Other reviews on tripadvisor and google reviews reported the same thing ROACHES IN THE ROOMS. He was used to such reports! Then LIED about it! I had to contact my bank because AAA would not help! It seem like the AAA rep WHO I WILL ALSO BE REPORTING, agreed with the guy because they were both INDIAN! I filled a fraudulent claim with my bank and provided pictures to back up my claims to get my money back! THIS PLACE IS A DIRTY! SCUMY! HOTEL! DO NOT STAY HERE! Upon arrival I noticed that the lobby area was nice and had places to sit. I also noticed that there was construction as part of the area was closed off. We walked over to the reception desk and were met with smiles. The people that worked there were very friendly and helpful. They answered our questions, checked us in, and we were off. We got two rooms for our stay. Photos are from the room my husband and I stayed in but the room next to ours where our adult kids stayed was almost identical. The room was spacious. It had a decent sized bathroom and I liked that the bathroom was spread out in sections. The actual room had plenty of room to move around and the view was nice. The beds were very comfortable with soft pillows and sheets. The bathroom towels were typical. We stayed for several days so we used the cleaning service several times and they always replaced our towels and tidied up the room. My only complaint is about the toilet paper. It's very thin and not soft enough. We bought some extra at the local grocery store. Overall Hilton Los Angeles was a great place to stay while vacationing. It was close to the theme park, it had a shuttle to get there and back which was convenient, the service was really friendly, and the room was comfortable.

Third, our room didn't get cleaned even though the "do not disturb" sign was off by noon and I asked for a room cleaning and they only brought me literally 2 towels. I don't even know how this hotel is rated 4 stars and I stayed so many times before and never had this issue. I would like someone to contact me about this. Also, when I called and asked for the room to be cleaned or why it hasn't, the lady was rude and said she'll "call for a refresh". Like why pay for additional nights for a Hilton if we can't have our room cleaned properly. I really think the owners should hear about this experience.
