In my years of using auto service establishments that dates back to the early 1990s, I have never had any business refuse to take my credit card payment. Mike insisted that in record freezing temps, that I should walk in the cold to my bank and get him cash as a payment and nothing else?? Not sure how many established businesses refuse credit card payments backed up by a valid bank or Paypal that is verified ... I don't know what to say about this encounter. After this experience, I now realize, before rating a business on Yelp, I must wait until all transactions with the place are complete as this experience went from fine to awful. read more

BEWARE OF NEW OWNER!! I had used Mikes Auto Service in the past and had a great experience with a couple of minor car repairs and maintenance. When I noticed an oil leak on my 2013 Jeep Wrangler I brought it to get looked at and learned that the business had been sold to Matt. Once my car had been checked out I was given a $688 estimate for the repairs and replacement of Engine Oil Cooler/ Intake Manifold Gasket (lower and upper) and replacement of Serpentine Belt. A few days after repairs were done I phoned Matt to let him know there was still an oil leak. He informed me this was just residual oil and I should call back if car was sill leaking after two weeks. I brought my car back after waiting two weeks to let him know that car was still leaking oil. He checked it out and said the car had not been cleaned thoroughly after repair but now has been cleaned. My car continued to leak oil in the SAME general area. One week later my car would not start so I had it towed to them. I received a $250 estimate for a new battery. I also informed them the oil leak was still present. He replaced the battery and once again "cleaned residual". He apologized for his guys not doing a good clean up before. Two weeks later I was back in for a hose repair this time for $400. At this point I started to get suspicious. I brought my Jeep to the dealership. I called Matt to let him know the problem still seemed to be the original part he replaced and his answer was "he disagreed". The dealership has now replaced the Engine Oil Cooler and no more leak!! I am a single and not a young woman and feel this business has taken advantage of me. In a matter of 2 months I spent $1300 and original problem was never fixed. I gave Matt a chance to make the situation better but he just disagreed.. read more

Incredibly honest, competent service! I give my highest recommendation to Mike's Auto Service. I brought my old car into Mike's today for some repairs that I thought I needed. Mike called me back and told me that the repairs I thought that I needed were not necessary. They did a great job checking my car over with my oil change and even fixed a few minor issues for me. Mike could have easily squeezed a couple of hundred out of me to do the unnecessary repairs and I wouldn't have known the difference. Instead, he was honest. I asked if they accept the my synchrony car care credit card. They said they would call me back, never did. I said that I needed to know before they worked on my car incase i couldn't pay with my credit card. They never called back. Opened my car up to do nothing even though we have an invoice from another shop saying said parts needed replacing. Mind you I was there for a warranty replacement and wasn't supposed to owe anything! I asked if they accepted my credit card on friday, dropped it off sunday, called monday morning before they touched my vehicle again to ack about the credit card clarifying i cant have them work on the vehicle if they dont accept the card fot anything outside of my warranty work. They never called back both times. The owner said you now owe me labor $$. They also BROKE my seay bar link and replaced it. So he did nothing but replace what he broke and charged me labor. Terrible customer service. The other tech that previously answered the phone said he has never even done SWAYBAR LINKS and has to rely on his boss/the owner to figure it out. This place is unprofessional in so many ways. Worst customer service ever. Owners should listen to their customers. The owner did nothing but talk over me and say i never told him things that i obviously called trying to communicate. They said they had no answers and said they'd call back but both times did not. Mike and his whole crew are very honest. No worries when you go to Mikes he will tell you the truth about your car issues and hand over any replaced parts. I have gone to Mikes for about 12 years. Was refered by friends and have refered him to dozens of people over the years. I really like his style. He always does what you ask, and keeps an eye out for things that may need attention; next month or in six months. All at a fair price. I'm sure this post will be deleted by the owner, but I cannot believe that this business has a 4.5 star review. I literally just got off the phone with Mike himself after just requesting an update on my van (It was only my first time calling) and this is what just transpired; he literally starts yelling at me "I TOLD YOUR HUSBAND AND NOW I'LL REITERATE IT TO YOU MORE SLOWLY..I WILL CALL YOU WHEN IT'S DONE. IS IT DONE? DID HE CALL? NO!! NOW YOU'RE JUST WASTING MY TIME. MY DAY IS FILLED W/ PEOPLE LIKE YOU CALLING AND ASKING DUMB QUESTIONS," or something very similar to that, and that was only half of it. I proceeded to tell him how great his customer service was (i'm being sarcastic) and he told me I can come get my van he's done with it..and by done with it he said he won't be fixing it. And hangs up on me. I am in shock any business owner could be so rude to a paying customer who just asked in a pleasant voice what the status of my van was.
