Called ahead and they informed me it is walk-in only which is completely fine. I got there and the line was long so I expected a wait. Signed in on the iPad which showed my place in line. I waited 55 minutes and then two chairs opened up, with one other person in front of me. Before they even called us up they waved over two other people who just walked in. Would never go back after treating someone like that who waited almost an hour. read more

I went here to get my head shaved and my beard trimmed by a gentleman in a bikers jacket and a newsboy cap. Wow..... this guy knicked my head at least 9 times. And it wasn't small either. My head would not stop excessively bleeding. I also asked him to clean up my beard and fade my side burns into my shaved head. This gentleman literally faded my beard down to my jaw line. It was honestly pathetic how bad this guy was. I was completely embarrassed and had to go home and shave my beard off too. It wasn't like he made one mistake. He made at least 13 and literally cut my head open. Not to mention the price was $25. I paid $25 to get scalped. I tipped the guy about $40 and I hope he took my advice and realized this wasn't for him. Avoid this barber shop at all costs. They clearly don't vet their barbers to see if they can actually cut hair. read more

Absolute top notch barbers. You can get a cut from any of these fine gentlemen and you will be very happy. They are probably the busiest barbershop around and that is because of their fantastic reputation. Yes you can go to a corporate place and get a haircut and be in and out in 15 minutes but by going to Mike's you are supporting a locally owned family business that cares about our community. read more

i used to go to mikes barber shop 10-15 yrs. kyle and mike both cut my hair. they did good then. now i went in few days ago and the one person cut my hair and was overly aggressive for a haircut. He asked me how my haircut was and i told him the bangs still need to be trimmed. he told me turn my head. i did. he then grabbed top of my head and my chin and turn my head and neck as far as they would go, which hurt my neck. I was not happy about that. any further on my neck and it would be painful damage. Old school barber shop snippin' your typical buzz cuts. I'm not a dude. I don't understand straight blade razor neck shaves or built-in vaccum cleaners used on your head to suck up clippings. I also don't know what a $15 cut will get you. BUT my boyfriend's son loves this place and they give him a darn good cut. It lasts and grows out very well. We waited a month inbetween cuts and his hair still looked great! There are only 3-4 barbers working at a time, one being Mike himself (I'm guessing). but they manage to get through a long line pretty quickly. If it's slow, you can just wait. If it's busy, they'll have to take a number and will even give you a time frame so you can stop back in. The decor is, well... manly. The walls and ceilings are dingy, grey and dated, though not dirty--just stained with time. I think it could use a fresh paint job and update. The walls are covered in deer heads, fish plaques, signs and kitschy things. With all this being said, they're not trying to be fancy here. The decor is an after thought. You come here for a no-frills, decent hair cut, straight razor neck shave and barber shop talk. And you'll get all that for $15. read more

My son and I have been going to Mike's for about six years with mixed results. As the old saying goes, the difference between a bad haircut and a good one is three weeks... Most recently my son and I went in first thing Saturday morning, I was skeptical when failing to recognize a single barber on staff, but I rolled the dice and took my chances, and lost. Seems the A-Team doesn't work on Saturday's, and the B-Team really shouldn't be working at all. After explaining multiple times how my son likes his hair, the guy just couldn't seem to grasp a simple fade and made things worse with every explanation. Then the "barber" working my hair seemed resistant to giving anything but a mediocre Peaky Blinders. I tried directing him, but he seemed determined to deliver what could possibly be the one haircut he knows. If you're fortunate and get John's chair, you're 90% likely to get a decent cut.. anyone else and you risk three weeks of looking like a stooge. I've lost my last three weeks to this place. No one cuts my hair except Mike and Andrew at Mike's Barber Shop. Been going there for 45+ years. Never once have I had a bad haircut. Only real waits are Friday Afternoons and Saturdays or days before holidays and when school starts. Mike's is a traditional barber shop, not a beauty salon or a discount cut place. I've been going to Mikes Barber Shop since I was in grade school at St. Mary's back in the '70's. Awesome service, great prices and just a fun place to hang out. Edit: takes way to long to get in the chair. Mike is great, but the younger barbers talk so much they add a lot of wait time as they take too long to cut the hair of the person they are working on. I'm hate to say this but I need to find a new barber. I can't spend my entire lunch break waiting to get in a chair because someone is chatting so much. read more

They are always packed to the point of there not being a chair to sit in, whether it's crack of dawn, or any other time...the barber's sometimes rude and obnoxious, telling perverted jokes to one another as though there aren't other better things to talk about...telling sick jokes about their family and friends/neighbors. Some things should be kept to oneself or wait for a more expedient time to 'air' it. The barber that usually cut my hair was good at first, but then he started to get pretty rude, subsequently. read more

Finally found a real Barber Shop again! I had a great barber that I had gone to since I was 6 years old. He finally retired when I was 42, so you can imagine how hard it was to have to start looking again. What I look for in a Barber Shop, listens to what you want, does what you want, doesn't just trim the hair but pays attention to other details like the eyebrows, uses a straight razor to clean the neck and great conversation. I have gone through (3) other places before finding Mike's. I will say it is busy on the weekend, but they have three barbers working so it moves pretty quickly. They don't seem to be in a rush either, they pay attention to the details and make you feel like your haircut matters. I got my haircut by Mike himself, and I finally found a new Barber Shop!!! read more
