Located just off the M13, J3, and only a few hundred yards from the Yorkshire Outlet/Lakeside shopping park and associated restaurants, there's an enormous car park outside. On entering the store, there's a garden centre to the right with a large conservatory with gardening stuff, and access to the outside with all the plants. There's a large lighting section behind this, which must have hundreds if not thousands of different styles of light on display. Working through the store, there are large displays of tiles, paint, wallpaper, flooring, electricals, plumbing, storage, wood and building supplies. They've also got a really good showroom area with kitchens and bathrooms which are not the cheapest in the world or the very best quality but they're a lot better than other DIY stores. Main complaint with this is the lack of staff - there always seems to be a queue. They have a builders' yard at the opposite end, and a trade counter which seems to be quite popular. Checkouts are to the front and often have large queues but staff are pretty switched on and it doesn't normally take too long. There's usually a greasy burger van outside, so you can look forward to the smell of onions as you leave, after you've barged your way through the wall of fag smoke that's always waiting for you at the exit. But that's a minor flaw in an otherwise fab shopping experience.

Prices aren't the cheapest and if you've got the time and patience to go round other places then you'll often find things for a lot less, but if you just want to pay a fair price and cut out all the hassle then this is the place to go. They're really handy to get to, just off the motorway and also close to Lakeside so there are shops to drop the wife off at too, and a few fast-food places if you're hungry. Cafe, toilets, free parking - all good from me.

For laundry baskets, storage containers, waste bins etc. I have always found it a wonderful and reliable resource. It has also had some nice mugs, pottery ware and items relating to home decor, although obviously this line of stock is somewhat variable and seasonal. Still, I always enjoy a visit to Glyn's.

As many buns as you can fit in your trolley, all at American sized portions (big). Massive bags of sweets and crisps and freezers full of catering sized packs of cheesecakes and burgers. The bargains don't stop after the checkouts either with the food court. Jacket potatoes, chicken bakes, shepherds pies and pizza slices that are about 700 (million) calories a pop and free refills on the fizzy drinks. Definitely worth a look round if you can.

It's worth noting that they only except payment via cash, cheque and debit card. Credit Cards are not accepted. They stock a wide range of goods, from appliances, electricals, bedding, beers wines and spirits, catering/cleaning goods, furniture, gardenware, office products, clothing, toys, books, bakery, butchers, fresh food etc etc. The one in Sheffield also has a digital photocentre and tyre centre. In addition to this, they also sell hot food after the checkouts where you can get cheap pizza, cakes, jacket potatoes, hot dogs etc. They also do 18 takeaway pizzas at a bargain £7.33! What seems to be their motto is the best quality goods at the lowest possible prices. This means the majority of their stuff are all brands you have heard of and recognise as being renowned for quality. If you are eligible for membership I'd definitely recommend a trip round if they'll give you a day pass.

Everything for the home, including furniture, cutlery, pet food, garden plants, and random sweets and coffee near the tills! The cafe is very basic, but cheap and cheerful. You'll probably spend a bomb here, but you'll save in the long run.

Purchased some lightbulbs from a promotion bin in the Sheffield IKEA clearly priced at £0:10 each…read more checking my recipe at home later noticed they had changed me £1:50 each. I bought 10 so was overcharged £14:00. I contacted IKEA customer service department who were not bothered and even asked if I had taken a photo of the price on the light bulbs (who would) IKEA customer service said there is nothing they can do and said go to the Sheffield store customer service desk and see if they could help, what is the point of having a customer service department if they will not help, it would cost £10 in petrol to go to Sheffield for an argument with there customer services, and not prepared to lose any more money, this is a case for trading standards and will be looking at getting them involved
