The service was good for our third time purchasing fire wood. We paid for having the wood stacked. And again, the guys swept up afterward, which is much appreciated. Sadly, however, the third time was not the charm for the firewood itself. It either wasn't "seasoned" (and if you're selling firewood, shouldn't it be so it burns nicely?) or it had gotten very wet prior to our order/delivery. After receipt of this order, the wood smolders inside the firebox and takes forever to actually catch fire. The "value" decreases when the product doesn't do what it should. When the firebox is one's primary source of heat for a smallish home, said heat becomes a necessity for comfort. Mike was contacted about the issue, said he'd call back with some sort of mutual solution, but thus far, no calls. We like to support local businesses but the local business needs to consider customer satisfaction if they want to keep repeat business/referrals. (We know. Today was the 3rd time we have used Mike's Tree Service. The first time was several years ago, he came out immediately, took out the tree, to completely remove it would have been detrimental to a brick wall. The 2nd time was to remove some dead trees. Again, came out as promised, did the work expediently, and cleaned up the debris. We agreed to call when we were ready for the stumps to be removed. Left a message on vm, he returned my call in a timely manner, we set the appointment for early. His wife called as per requested to make sure we were ready. (Hey, retirement has its advantages of sleeping in.) If I had more trees, I'd call him again. Maybe we'll add some... later. But I would definitely use Mike's in Ridgecrest again. MIke's crew was instructed to trim 4 fruit trees in my yard. They mangled 3, completely removed one instead of trimming. They left a lot of debris in the yard, and did not return calls when I called them to discuss the issues. Two of the trees they "trimmed" are so damaged they now have to be removed. I was not home when they came or I would have addressed the issues at the time. Advice - it you are having a tree trimmer come out make sure you are home and able to supervise the work and cleanup. read more

This company was removing trees in a neighbors yard. They came into my driveway and onto my carport roof without permission!!!! When I told them to move the truck and get off my roof., I was told NO. Really, this worker was as ignorant as they come. I told them to move or I would call the police. Tree Mike is the best! There is a reason this man is so busy. He does exceptional work at a reasonable price. He was able to grind a huge stump down for me after removing a fallen tree. I just wish I called him sooner as he told me he offers a "lace-out" I believe he called it where he will thin out the heavy branches which caused my tree to fall. I wish I could have saved the tree but glad I found Tree Mike to remove it. He also sells fire wood at a great price (duh!) since he removes trees for a living. Such a nice guy too. read more

Promised that trees would be topped so that wind would not blow them down. Also needed them cut from electrical wires. Got neither. First wind storm blew down large branch they had cut but left in the trees. (Bent my fence which he denies.). Wanted to charge me another $850 to fix the mess they left. Our friend ordered a 1/2 cord of wood from him a few days ago. And due to the major storm he had to wait to deliver it. But once the storm cleared Mike was Johnny on the spot with our wood. I called Mike because I had a few pine trees that died on our property. He met with me the same day, gave me a reasonable price and came earlier than scheduled to finish the job. As new residents of Sun Lakes Country Club, Mike's Tree Service was recommended to us for some general trimming. The first time we were pleased and when we contacted Mike again for tree removal, I was completely dissapointed. There were several Crape Myrtles I wanted removed and by removed I mean all roots. We called last week and made an appointment with Mike's Tree Service for 15 trees. He told us that he would be at our home either Sunday 8/6/'17 or 8/7/'17 but he did not give us a specific time for either day. He asked that we text him the address since he was without pencil/paper - we did text the address to him. Apparently he has to much money to be concerned about his next customer. I'm very happy with the job that Mike and his crew did at my home. I called him yesterday for an estimate and he was at my home in under 5 minutes. Definitely no high pressure sales- just a down to earth and knowledgable guy. He was at my house the very next day (today) to do the work. Including Mike, a crew of 4 guys removed about 14 giant bushes (12'-14' tall each) and 2 small trees in under 2 hours, mulching everything they removed and hauling it away. This job would have taken me weeks, if not a couple months, to do it on my own on the weekends. It was a very quick and very professional job.
