We are so happy to have found Lamar Reese. He is a very accomplished handyman, with a surprising number of skills! Over the last year, he has completed multiple jobs for us, and has quite a few more on his roster! Initially, he replaced a rotted, load bearing post for us on our patio. Since then he restored and refinished our fancy standalone electric fireplace, which our dog had pretty much destroyed. He also repaired a vinyl fence that was falling apart due to high winds. Most recently we had him install a short fence around our new studio to create a private patio. Our next project will be to repair and install new vinyl fencing and gates to section off a finished area. There seems to be almost nothing Lamar doesn't know how to repair, install or replace. Lamar did work for me 1 year ago and did a good job. He was supposed to come back yo do other work and ghosted me even after no less than 6 phone messages and texts. I recently called him again ( he actually returned the call maybe because he didnt recognize my number because it's been a while) and he said he remember ed me and acted like all was fine and dandy but that he didn't have his schedule with him. He never got back to me. I called him and left ANOTHER message and got ghosted again. I sent a text and no reply AGAIN. He did the same thing to a neighbor of mine. Mr Reese was very professional, friendly and honest. I had purchased the wrong part for my toilet so he went down to the hardware store and got what I needed and installed it easily. Reese The Handy Connection aka Lamar had provided me a quote a year ago, and when I tried to contact him to get the work scheduled, ghosted me. I submitted another work request through Yelp a year later, and he called me right away. Why? Someone else had left him a 1 star review, and he though it was me. Well, it wasn't, and I told him I still needed the work done that I had requested before. He then ghosted me again. I messaged through Yelp, called, and finally texted. He eventually replied that he couldn't do the job because he didn't have the necessary tools. What? The only tools needed except for basic hand tools are a ladder and a drill! Hired Reese the Handy Connection to install a gas dryer in our garage. They were very responsive and though not in my area were willing to come out next day. I hired Lamar Reese five times to perform various jobs: 12/17/20, 1/16/21, 2/11/21, 3/21/21, and 3/24/21. In April 2021, I asked him to provide me with an estimate to install a garage door opener on the single door. I have a 3-door garage. While I was in the kitchen checking on the food I was cooking, he installed the door. When I returned to the garage he said, "I installed it." I replied, "you are to give me an estimate. I am not paying more than the estimate received from Mesa Garage Door Company." He became rude and said, "you can go on." I called the sheriff, and an officer took my complaint. I told the office Larmar is running a con-game, and trying to take advantage senior-age people, especially females. The officer said he would inform him he is "technically trespassing" because I asked for an estimate and he remained in my garage installing the opener without my permission. I was not planning on writing this review. However, last December 3rd 2022, I posted a job to hang Christmas tree lights. Lamar sent a message through Yelp saying "Hi i can help you again this year with hanging lights, i live in Hemet now. Thank you. Happy holidays ".
