Naples used to be the capital of the Kingdom of Two Sicilies, which was part of the Spanish Crown. In fact, the colours of the Spanish flag are also those of the city coat of arms. But with all this histry, it's strange that you could not find real Spanish food anywhere. Until now. Chef Carlos knows his food, and know how to bring Spanish culinary traditions to life, like his Salt Cod with spinach, raisins and pine nuts, or clams in grean sauce. This is probably my fave place in Naples. They are so kind to me! My Italian is getting fairly good but I still stumble over long vowely words. They never even smirk at me here nor do they neglect me since I am usually a lone diner. Being a screaming diabetic with insulin always loaded does not seem a good match for anywhere in Italy and it is truly a test of will. But this has become my second home. The cheeses, meats and fabulous fruits help me (almost) overlook the breads and pastas like no other. This place rocks on tapas and makes me a special plate each time. The chorizo is like no other and would be ruined with a carb introduction anyway. I feel like a very special person when I dine here. Acqua fresco is even magical here. In Naples at the end of a three week trip, tapas sounded good, so we got to the restaurant tonight just as they opened (without reservation), and got seated immediately. Just a note, I would recommend the reservation, they filled up as we were leaving. We started with a pitcher of sangria, and it was perfect. Not to sweet, just right. My wife and I had the tasting menu, and loved every dish. We had the Salmorejo, croquet of ham, chorizo, frittata of potato, and the meat paella. We could barely finish it all, and hated to leave any. We are not picky eaters, but we know good food, and this was very good. Dessert was a small truffle and a shot of liqueur. They speak good English, service was great, price was beyond reasonable. I rarely give out fives, and this place deserves every star. read more

What an amazing find in Naples. Spanish in nature, nothing about it is necessarily traditional. We were fortunate to meet the chef (from Spain) and he spoke of his cooking as a mix of many of his experiences throughout Spain and Italy. We did the Tapas menu which included around 9 tapas and an aperitif. I also got a bottle of wine. Each and every tapa was unbelievable flavorful and unique. The wine the waitress selected for me was exactly what I was looking for. Both the waitress were absolutely wonderful and friendly and patient with our broken Italian. We had no problem ordering and conversing with them. We will absolutely visit again before we leave. read more

Stumbled on this place while looking for a break from pizza (three nights of it was enough - amazing though!). Bit odd having to ring a door bell to get in, but do it - the food is phenomenal. We've made plenty of paellas and chorizo tapas at home so thought we had it pretty much spot on until having it here. This is our favorite restaurant in Naples, and the only real Spanish restaurant in town. It is a great break from Neapolitan food which can get a bit monotonous after a while, if you live here. The chef is a true trained chef and you can taste the passion in his food. They only serve authentic Spanish dishes and stick to their roots (no pizzas, pastas, or Italianized dishes). The service is also fantastic and very pleasant, and the establishment is decorated in a clean, warm, and welcoming way. Language is not a problem here, as the host/wait staff speaks Spanish, Italian, and English. Prices are very reasonable too. Try their tapas tasting menu or one of their paellas, which are authentic and full of flavor. They also have a great selection of Spanish wines and sangrias. read more
