But I came in asking for them to fix this weird orange section in my hair as well as just keeping my hair my natural medium brown hair color. instead I left with nearly black hair and instead of the orangey section it's just medium brown. I had always gotten my hair dyed in Clovis. I did not realize that Milan had moved and they were in 2 totally different locations. Because when I called and booked my appointment, no one told me. Yes, I was upset because the phone hung up on me 11 times as I tried to call them. I did call it a shit show. And so, they didn't know how to run it. The woman told me to get out and I called her a fuck** bitch not my finest moment of adulthood, but that woman was so condescending. They didn't try to attempt to help me. They didn't try to contact the other Milan. They didn't do anything. It was so what you're out of luck I would definitely if you have to go to these people. I would called definitely the day before or few days before to make sure that they haven't moved. It would have been common courtesy to hey did you know that we moved? I had an absolutely terrible experience at the Fresno location with America. I scheduled a perm appointment 4/14/2026 at10:30 AM arrived on time, and ended up sitting there for 45 minutes with zero communication from staff. Not a single person acknowledged the delay or gave any explanation, which is incredibly unprofessional and disrespectful of my time. After waiting far longer than anyone should, I finally went up to the front desk myself, only to be told, "Oh, I don't know what happened." That was it--no apology, no effort to fix the situation, nothing. Apparently, the staff was "notified" I was there, but clearly no one cared enough to follow through. At that point, I walked out. If this is how they handle appointments and customer service, I have zero confidence in their ability to provide actual services. Completely disorganized, dismissive, and a total waste of time. I had scheduled a 2:30 haircut appointment. They called me and rescheduled to 5:30. I showed up 5 mins early to check in. 20 mins of waiting I asked the lady at the front desk if the wait is usually this long. She told me that it depends on how many students are working. I graduated three months ago and they ghosted me and ignored all my texts and calls after completing my hours I still haven't been able to take the state board. The school is a huge waste of time and money. There are only a couple teachers I would recommend. As for some instructors like Miss J who has the audacity to be so rude and hostile if someone doesn't look like they belong there aside from being completely unapproachable. And if she isn't aware of her lil attitude I hope this message finds her. However the worst of all would definitely be the director a very short Mark Balanon. He lacks any respect towards his students and will not meet the needs of students and staff if it means he will be over budget. The culture there is catty and cliquey more attention is given to those not driven but success but by popularity. I deal with adhd and this is absolutely not the right place for anyone who deals with issues similar. My time was not respected, they do not fix time sheets so if you just spent ten hours working and don't clock in perfect EVERYTIME you just lost all that time and will be forced to miss out of your personal time with family, kids, work to come in and make it up. I saw myself and a fellow student struggle to meet the demand and have to leave. instead of receiving support I was met with short demanding exchanges from mark that he wouldn't even finish he would just start a new conversation demanding the same questions be answered that I very clearly went over. I can understand vocational schools preparing you for real jobs however I've NEVER had a job where I can work for ten hours and be told oh well can't pay you for your time and effort you should've been perfect at clocking out. In most states it would violate labor laws but for Mark that is just what he expects no mistakes and no grace is given if you do have them. If you have a true passion do no expect it to be appreciated or thrive here. Also they didn't fix the AC in this place for months and not until a woman passed out from overheating while receiving services was it fixed the next day. I attended the Esthetics program in 2021 at the Bullard location, which has now moved to Clovis. Ms Lisa is a great teacher! She invests a lot in her students and is very willing to help with whatever you need to succeed. Ms Castro is also a sweetheart and was very helpful to me when I was making up hours. The program is expensive, but that is the cost of getting a license/education that will increase your earning potential exponentially. Beauty school is supposed to help you pass state board, and thanks to Milan, I did on my first try. Take advantage of the treatment room, you will miss it once you are out of school. Don't get caught up in drama. Go in with a good attitude every day, be respectful, work hard, and get as much out of it as you can. This is the 2nd time in about 5 years of getting my hair cut there that I am disappointed. In both cases, the student did not check if the length of the sides and the left side was longer than the right. The nearby instructor did not double check the quality. And the student that cut my hair Friday, I believe her name is Danielle, also left a huge "rat tail" in the middle of the back of my hair. All I wanted was a blunt cut trim. This is my second time using them but I'm a slow learner so I wasted money the second time. I knew going in I'm sort of a practice subject so my bar of expectation isn't too high. My attitude is they are a step above doing it yourself with store bought kits. First time I got highlights. After I was done my hair looked no different than before. I could have gotten better results with a 3 dollar box of Revlon. Second time was a soft curl perm. I have hair that is neither straight or curly, not even wavy, just dense with a stray wave here and there. So I showed them pics of the wave and off they went. When finished one student proceeded to dry my sopping wet hair with a diffuser on cold setting. By wet, I mean they didn't even towel dry. My clothes were wet and water was trickling down my back. Running a comb through it produced large puddles on the floor. So why did they think using a diffuser on cold setting would do a dang thing? Time moved very slowly at this point and having already sat for hours I was ready to snatch the blow dryer away and do it myself. So an hour later my hair is barely dry and the student is anxious to take the pic and be done. Me even more. So they (yes there was more than one) use a curling mousse and scrunch it up and take a pic. Next day a use a pick to comb it out and lo-and-behold it is no more curly than it was before I came in. I knew to be worried when they showed me in the mirror wavy hair I could produce at home by mousse and a diffuser (hey, if you are a student reading this do this in this order: towel dry, comb, HOT blow dry to semi damp hair, add diffuser, then cold setting for major curls). So I wasted 60 dollars. Not one person noticed I got a perm. Not my spouse or daughter ... no one. I think Milan services are better for easy stuff like a bang trim. Not sure I'd even give that a try though. read more

I wish I could give this zero stars, but unfortunately I can't. I am a former student from this Milan and I had such a horrible experience. Phase one was so stressful as there was an overwhelming amount of work to do. Not only that, but students are teaching themselves! The first phase should be extended a few weeks so that students aren't burnt out by the end. When I got into phase two, everything changed. I had Ms. Lisa as my teacher and at first she was fine, but as time went on, she got worse and worse. I noticed that whenever me or my group did anything wrong, she would point it out. But when another person does the same thing, she doesn't say anything! She would just pick on me and my group of classmates from phase one. I also noticed that students give Ms. Lisa gifts and in turn, they get better scores and she's more friendly with them. She definitely has favorites in the class and those favorites get special treatment! It's ridiculous. Because she likes those students more, she would let them write extra ops on their ops sheet. That leaves some students with completely finished ops not even halfway through the course, when other students are working their asses off to get them done! Not only that, but Ms. Lisa is a hypocrite. To your face, she will be nice. She will say that she supports you and is there for you, but when you turn around she would talk shit about you to the other teachers (Ms. Jamelle). She talks shit about students and also other teachers! Ms. Jamelle looks and acts nice, but she is not how she portrays herself to be. Like Ms. Lisa, she would be nice to your face and say she supports you, but then she turns around and talks shit, too! She's just not as blatant as Ms. Lisa. In addition to her two-facedness, Ms. Lisa is so unsanitary! First of all, she never wears her mask correctly (if she's even wearing it at all). And also, when she would perform demos, she would do some disgusting things. One time when she was giving a massage, she paused to lick her finger. She didn't wash her hands afterward! She just continued with the massage! Then, she paused again to wipe her nose! Again, she didn't wash her hands, she just continued with the massage. How fucking disgusting is that? This teacher is here to set an example for students and teach them the right way to do things. And here she is, being so unsanitary during a demo! Ms. Lisa does not give clients privacy when students are giving treatments. She would just walk in on the students with their clients and ask them how they're doing. Clearly, if the students need help they would ask! DO NOT walk in on clients especially when they could be changing their clothes! It's rude and unprofessional! The school itself is also disgusting. When I would walk inside the school, I would find LIVE ROACHES running around the campus! And it was like that every single day. The linens don't look like they've ever been washed. They come out of the washing machine with shoe prints and suspicious stains. Most of the towels have holes in them and they are completely stained like brown and black. Mind you, these towels and linens are supposed to be white, but they look like they've been dipped in wet shit. Students aren't taught proper infection control and disinfection. Many students don't change the sheets or disinfect the tables after they've been used. They don't know how to properly disinfect equipment using the quats. The quats are so clear and transparent, I don't know if it even disinfects the equipment. Students also don't know how to take care of the machine equipment. Steamers are supposed to be filled with distilled water, but students are filling up distilled water bottles with the hot and cold water machine. And those steamers are being filled with the incorrect water, which will cause a blockage. This can break the machine and also it can cause harm to the client sitting under it. This is a clear reflection of the teachers' teaching abilities. They are not properly teaching students what to do and what not to do. If you were to complain about any of these things that I have listed, the school wouldn't do a damn thing about it. To get anything done, you would have to go straight to Mark (the president or whatever) and even then, he probably wouldn't do a damn thing about it. He doesn't do his job! If anyone has a problem, they go to Mark thinking that he would get things done, but no. There have been so many complaints about Ms. Lisa and Mark would say "OK. I will talk to her about it." But then nothing changes. The problems are still there and Ms. Lisa still has her job. There are so many reviews here and on Google saying that Ms. Lisa is a terrible teacher and a terrible person in general. It's insane how this woman still has her job! If you are thinking about attending this school, PLEASE DO NOT! Please find a different school. Do not attend this Milan. If you are a client thinking about getting a service at Milan, DO NOT! read more

I was enrolled in the esthetician program, graduated a couple of months ago. Sadly I didn't have a good experience, i left the school feeling like I didn't learn anything, I'm not the only one couple of girls from my group also feel the same way. I take my state board exam soon & I don't even have my milady book to study or anything, I have contacted the school because I couldn't get into my student account which has ALL MY NOTES & MY MILADY BOOK WHICH I PAID FOR! Some girls also contacted them telling them about it but they told us "you should still have it, you should be able to login." Multiple of us has tried & it would say account expired or account deleted or password changed. None of us could log in & we just gave up since they weren't doing anything to help us, it just sucks we paid a lot of money & for what? Dollar tree supplies & a book that expired after you graduated. The amount we paid was wayy too much.. Phase one was good we had mrs Castro she's super sweet & helped us & introduce us to what we are gonna be doing in phase 2. When we got to phase 2 oh my lord was that stressful. We had mrs Christina & she stressed us out so much, she ended up leaving in the middle & one of the teachers who were temporary realized how far behind we were, we didn't know about practicals, we didn't do any mid terms finals or anything! They told us if we didn't finish everything we wouldn't graduate on time & we were all upset bc our old teacher should've helped us & educated more better. She was too busy acting like a teenager with the old phase 2 group & helping them out for their state board & talking about their life's & etc. the new phase 2 us just practiced on our dolls or each other. We were too scared to take clients since we didn't know what we were doing! After all that we actually finally got a set teacher mrs Alex, she was absolutely incredible & such a great teacher, she did everything she can to help us get back on track & teach us everything she can. sadly we only had her for two months. Our theory teacher mrs Carrie was horrible, she had soo many complaints but the school didn't do anything, they were investigating her but we didn't see any changes to be honest, she picked on us, say smart remarks, if we didn't know a answer to a question she would say " how do you guys not know this?!" If we were silent cus we didn't know a answer she would get bitchy. No one liked being in her class & everyone complained but again school didnt care & did nothing. I wish I had spent my hard working money somewhere else, I take my state board in a couple of days & im literally relying on YouTube videos, estheticians apps & some notes I did wrote down while I was in class, sadly mostly everything was in my student Google docs & Microsoft that the school "gave us." The Milady book is expensive & I really can't afford it rn so I'm using what I got. If you decide to go here, opt out from the book they offer & buy a physical one & also a workbook & take notes in your notebook or your personal Google docs account don't use the schools cus you'll lose everything. read more

I visited this place yesterday morning to have my hair washed and maybe a braid, I had a shoulder replacement surgery in the beginning of April, and it's my right shoulder and I'm right handed, and even after my surgery my hair was a bird's nest plus, so I needed a lot of help, I ended up having a bunch of people helping with combing the knots out, but yesterday they had a new person working on my hair, and it was a disaster from the start, she didn't brush my hair out before she washed and conditioned it, then she's using a paddle brush on my hair and she was breaking my hair strands consistently, and when I asked for the instructor she wasn't any better, and then I told her that I wanted to speak with the director of the school, he was unsympathetic to my needs, and he wouldn't allow another student who was familiar with my hair to finish or hopefully help with my hair, I left crying hysterically!!!
