The facilities were excellent, as were the rooms. However, I encountered a couple of issues, and unfortunately, the staff that assisted me had a rather poor attitude. On the second night, I discovered that the room's safe was not functioning; it got locked, and I had to request assistance to have it opened. This happened on a Thursday night, and early Friday morning, I needed my passport, which was inside the safe, as we were going on a tour to Switzerland. I couldn't sleep, worrying if someone would arrive in time the next morning. Fortunately, they did, and the safe was opened just in time. Due to this incident, I decided not to use the safe again and instead left some money inside one of my bags. Big mistake! The night before my check-out (scheduled for the following morning at 6 am), I realized that the money I had left in my bag, around $700, was missing. That same night, I went to the front desk to speak to the hotel manager, but they informed me that since it was Sunday, there was no manager available until after the time of my planned check-out the next day. I asked what I should do, whether I should call the police or take other actions, and they responded with a very poor attitude, saying I could do whatever I wanted. In the end, I know my mistake was leaving something outside of the safe, but I didn't expect the staff to search through my bags looking for something to steal. The following day, I emailed the hotel manager, who apologized but essentially blamed me for not requesting a room change when the safe wasn't working. She also claimed to have tested the safe, stating that it worked, although it clearly didn't in my case.

The free WiFi was nice too as communicating via Instant Messenger and Facebook was our only real way to contact people back home in the States. The complimentary breakfast was very good as well. Most places we stayed at offered very little (some cheese, salami, cereal), but these guys had pretty wide spread breakfast offerings.

Closest grocery store and McDonalds is about 8-10 mins walk. There's a tram (#12) about 3-5 mins walk but didn't use it since will take us almost 40 mins to Duomo di Milano. Decided to pay €19 for an early check in after our flight from Beijing/bus ride from MXP airport. Front desk were friendly and professional. Got our cookies upon our check in. Rooms was decent size; just had little issue with the bathroom sink, drains so slowly. Can't complain about their breakfast spread since it's not a five star hotel. Shout out to Hamim, one of the hotel chef. Courteous and great customer service. I think the hotel is best for a group tour as their main base but for a solo/couple/family traveler, it's better to booked it closer to the city center since you will be paying at least $25 or more one way to get to your hotel unless you decide to use the tram.

As a Diamond Hilton Honors Member, I'm used to experiencing perks when travelling at Hilton properties, I did not feel as valued as other properties here. I was unable to get an upgrade of any type during my stay, while the staff were great and tried their best, I wouldn't say I received the usual "Diamond" experience. The location of the hotel is in a business district of Milan, so it is a good 35-40 minute journey on the tram into the centre of the city, with services 1, 12 and 14 just a short walk away from the hotel, there is a small train station, Milano Certosa nearby as well as a couple of places to eat, including Joy's and McDonald's, in terms of getting food essentials for the room, there are branches of LIDL and Penny Market within walking distance. Tram tickets can be purchased from the hotel reception, or many tobacconists around the city, I did find them hard to obtain, so I would suggest stocking up on them from reception, as they last 90 minutes once validated after boarding the tram, and can then be used on any AMT service including the Metro and buses. Be aware, that when purchasing from the hotel, the only accepted payment method is cash. No cards or charging to the room accepted! I arrived at the hotel late in the evening, I was originally unhappy with my first room, I found it to be small, dark and miserable, after asking for a room change, the only other room type offered was a disabled room, the room was a slight improvement, it was slightly brighter, larger and I ended up opting for this one. The bathroom in this room was awful, unlike the standard room it lacked a bidet, and the shower was very difficult to use, as if you moved the lever too far to one side, you'd be hit with ice-cold water in the middle of a hot shower! The room had basic and acceptable facilities, there was a kettle for coffee and tea (sadly no coffee machine), a mini-fridge, a desk, and an opening window. The bed was comfortable, as standard, like one, would find at any Doubletree property. The hotel does need to work at improving technology to modernise the hotel, this was the first time in years of staying in Hilton properties that I was unable to check in via the HHonors app, after asking a staff member, they were very confused and told me they did not offer this service. Digital Key is also not offered. The staff in the hotel seemed friendly and happy to help and resolve any issues that I did come across, most of the staff members spoke basic English which helped out a lot too. Housekeeping is available upon request, however on the final day of my trip, despite requesting housekeeping they forgot to visit my room, as 24-7 housekeeping is not available and they had gone home by 7 pm, I had to request a room change, which was provided. They again provided me with a disabled room, but for some reason despite being the same room type, and just 5 rooms down from my previous room, it was very different again as the windows wouldn't open and the bedside lights would not turn fully off, so I couldn't remove a faint light, almost like a night-light while I was sleeping, presumably to draw in mostiquos, who made a mess of my arms anyway! There were plenty of plug sockets around the room, sadly no USB charging as advertised though. I would have liked a set of plug sockets closer to the TV, sadly I was unable to use my Fire Stick during my stay. Breakfast is served until 10 am, daily, even on the weekends, I find this way too early, especially on a weekend. My guest and I both had problems with breakfast, the food quality was not good at all, the selection was poor, and the eggs were dry and bland, even the fruit juice tasted watered down, and certainly wasn't fresh. I probably wouldn't stay here again mainly down to the number of minor problems I experienced, and the location just seemed way too far out for my liking. I was also confused with the lack of consistency across the rooms, even with a similar or the same room type. 3* mainly down to excellent service, value and comfortable beds.

The location is about 5 miles from the Galleria, which is--believe it or not--about a 30 minute taxi ride (and 25 euros). However, the hotel is a few hundred feet from the M1 Metro station which will take you right to the Galleria and the Duomo. There is nothing special within walking distance of the hotel, but there is a pharmacy, a cafe or two, and a supermarket. The room itself was decent sized for Europe, had a balcony, and a cold mini-fridge. The bed was comfortable, and I slept well every night. All in all, I would stay here again if visiting Milan.

This time, the only positive I can give is that the staff members were really nice and there is a great grocery store across the street. Upon check-in, we walked into a packed lobby as there was conference going on. We were greeted by Laura at the front desk, she was friendly and helpful. Laura quickly got us checked in and told us that we could wait for our room in the concierge lounge. The lounge was the same as I remembered, dark, but it had a decent selection of non-alcoholic beverage. The ice situation was not great, just a bucket filled with melting ice that anyone can reach their hands into. And, every night, a group of pilots would sit at the lounge talking for hours, taking up space for other guests that just might want a few minutes to relax. The hotel needs maintenance. The carpets are torn and pieced back together, as is the wallpaper. The room felt dirty, there was mold build up in the bathroom around the sink and tub. At night we wanted to turn on the air, we were told that they turn the AC off for the winter. We opened the sliders which was a huge mistake, none of us were able to sleep between the constant noise of emergency vehicles and the mosquitos! Even though it was winter, we got eaten alive by mosquitos. We decided on the second night to just suffer through the heat. The morning breakfast spread is big with a lot of options, but it is extremely busy. The wait staff members were not friendly or helpful at all. The biggest thing that bothered me is what I will call the smoker's gauntlet. Every time we arrived or left the hotel, we had to walk through the covered area through tons of people smoking, it was absolutely disgusting. I have no idea why this hotel can't find another area and dedicate it to smokers. The location of the hotel is a bit far from tourist stuff, but it is a quick walk to the subway. Marriott needs to take a look at this property and put some money into renovating it.

We were in a bit of a hurry because we were going out to dinner and didn't want to wait around for the second luggage. As you enter the main lobby, you can't help but look at their enormous white and pink chandelier. A bit odd as it did not match the rest of the décor. Once again, WiFi is NOT free here, but only in the main lobby area. Our hotel room was on the same side as the main entrance and facing the street. Right across from us is an apartment building I believe. We saw other folks out on their balcony. The bathroom also has a huge deep tub. There is also a fridge with drinks, snacks and a dusty bottled water (not free of course). The carpet inside is a deep blue with yellow/gold wallpaper. The door is also nicely detailed in (faux?) wood as well as the furniture. So it's more of a traditional style and not so much modern. The other negative that was really annoying was the elevators! They were on the smaller side and so slow! Breakfast is include and they had a lot of variety to chose from (waffles, eggs, bacon, yogurt, baked goods etc). One note I must make is that the staff felt a little more snobbish. I felt like I should have worn a nice dress or something fancier. All in all, Milan was alright and not sure if I'll ever be in the city again or this hotel, but it was a decent stay.

I stayed at the Moxy Milan Linate Airport last night, as I got into Milan late after a cancelled…read moreflight. I needed somewhere close by for the night, so I chose Moxy. The Moxy is about a 15 minute walk from the airport. They don't have a shuttle. So if you're not keen on walking, there is a local bus that runs about every half hour until about 930PM that stops by the Moxy. You can of course also take a taxi/Uber. I walked, and it wasn't too bad even with large heavy suitcases. Just follow the walking path (it's marked with an airplane symbol on the ground, walking next to the garage and to the street and towards the hotel. It's pretty straight forward. Just note that the street can be kind of busy with cars, so I'd advise on waiting for the stoplights to turn green before you cross the street! The hotel is pretty basic. They provide enough towels for two persons. There is hand soap. No other amenities on the bathroom counter. In the shower is shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel. Bed was pretty comfy and firm (the way I like it), and the pillows were not too hard (or high)- just the way I like it. My room was surprisingly quiet, so I slept fairly well! In the morning, you'll most likely get a few knocks by housekeeping if you don't put your sign up. They knocked a few times asking when I was leaving- kinda was annoyed but hey I get they're doing their job (and I forgot to put the sign up). Overall, a pretty good experience. Hotel isn't fancy at all, and is more on the budget end. I wouldn't pay more than 100€ to stay here, any more would be too expensive imo.
