With a reservation a short time in advance, they have so far always been able to accomodate a small group (6-10) for lunch without any problem. The prices are okay (a bit high for a bargain lunch), but they usually have some reasonably priced lunch specials (salad+main dish) if you want a full meal. In my experience, the food has always been good. The service can be hit or miss. If you are alone or a group less than 4, check out the cafe next door. It offers the same pizza and pasta for 1 or 2EUR less.

My family and I used to come weekly but the service can fluctuate between great and non existent depending on who you get... most of the waitstaff is good, but the owner... he often seems to regard customers as a nuisance rather than the life blood of his business. On several occasions we were left hanging without a place to sit even after making reservations... and he was dismissive and nasty (despite all the business we had brought him). On other occasions I was hung up on (by the owner) when I called and tried to make a reservation in English (despite the fact that most of the staff speaks English). Bottom line: the food makes this place worth your time as long as the owner decides that you are worth his.

It's not a plac3 for the hoity toity, it's a place for people who love the hearty, home food. Went here during my 3 day stay in frankfurt and I would have gone back if i had had the chance. I got the pesto sauce and it was really good. The pizza was okay but I would say the pasta was better. The beer wasn't the best I had in Germany but passable. Compared to the pasta I am getting in the Midwest, I would give this a 5 but because I can't speak to the local food scene in Frankfurt (which seems pretty high quality), I can only confidently give this place a 4. Go here, you won't be disappointed.
