First off we live in Ottawa so it was a good ways out of town and in the middle of what looked like no-where. In fact I was convinced we'd drove all this way to the wrong place. I was wrong. There it was in a very sweet little old house "Mountain Station". Although I felt a tiny-bit apprehensive at first it was all for nothing, as soon as we walked through the door my mood was lifted. The aroma from the cooking pizza was absolutely incredible and the most charming, most interesting man we've ever met stood there and greeted us with the warmest smile. The owner, P.J was truly the other amazing half of what was the best pizza we've ever had! Although it is a take-out place we did spot that sweet little table, in the corner, and asked if we could park-ourselves to enjoy some pizza before hitting the road. We dug-into this fantastic pizza, perfectly seasoned sauce, crispy but fluffy-crust, piled-high fresh-cut ingredients and loads of cheese!! While we ate we enjoyed the owner's company and his absolutely incredible stories. He has so many wonderful stories that we sat there a good hour or more just to chat. The food, the eclectic surroundings and this delightful, charismatic man was totally all worth the drive and the dollars. We really didn't want to leave but had to as we needed to get somewhere. This is a situation where if I could select 0 stars I would because we were never actually served…read moreand instead were yelled at to leave. We entered the pizzeria with a service dog in training and were immediately confronted by a small dog that was completely loose and growling at the dog I was training. My dog stood still and did not vocalize or lunge back. Someone who worked there then came out and yelled at us to leave because dogs are not allowed. My dog was wearing a vest from the non-profit organization that he is from that identifies him as a service dog in training. As a service dog in training he is not covered under ADA, which I fully understand and respect. However, I am typically at least given the opportunity to explain that I am training the dog, and once the establishment understands the situation and sees that my dog follows all the same rules as a service dog, access is typically allowed. My issue with this place is not that we were denied access but the way the situation was handled. I understand that people bringing their pets with them everywhere and the entitlement that sometimes comes along with that is a problem. I understand and actually appreciate strict no pet policies, and respect a businesses decision not to allow a service dog in training. But, the fact that there is a confrontational dog completely loose in the pizzeria while being yelled at to leave because dogs aren't allowed did not sit well with me. I always try and put myself in the shoes of someone who is blind or has a disability that requires the use of a service dog, and after experiencing how we were treated I did not want to support this business so we ended up getting pizza elsewhere. It was a very unfortunate experience. Hopefully the dog is much friendlier to people, but even still, not everyone wants to be greeted by a loose dog nor do they want a dog loose in a place they will be dining.

Everything tasted fresh and the portion size was solid. The place has a great laid-back atmosphere, perfect for grabbing a burger and a drink. The staff were friendly and the service was quick even though it was busy. If you're looking for a good American restaurant and bar with great burgers and a relaxed vibe, Pines Tap and Table is definitely worth checking out. Iroquois is about a 20-minute drive for us. I wanted to see the place before ordering; that way we can smell pizza cooking, decide on wings flavouring, and generally be nosy!! We ended up ordering a large 3-topping pizza special, which comes with 2lbs of wings. We were able to get 2 different flavours, both of them house specials - one was a rub, and the other like a BBQ sauce. I've gotta say that everything was delicious!
