I've had other doctors growing up chalk it up to other ideas but 15 minutes and one surgery later. Boom. Can breathe like everyone else. Air intake is something I could've only dreamed of. It's so surreal. Dr Shah is so supportive and even more excited to see my own progress than I was able to actualized once I got my stints out and can feel the surgery actualized. He asked a lot of questions and really listened to me to help figure out what was going on with my ears (they have been crackling for years). It turns out I have Eustachian Tube dysfunction and my ears have problems with pressure changes. I have another appointment to get tubes put in, which will hopefully help. I was nervous about an upcoming ocean trip after having a perforated eardrum in the past. She wanted to "clean" my ear (apparently by sticking sharp metal forceps into it *unannounced*) and then laughed at me when I found this scary with my past ear history. After a very brief examination, Dr. Considine declared my ear fine to swim and go underwater. She scoffed at and dismissed my concerns. *I took her advice and perforated my eardrum* snorkeling in 5 feet of water a few weeks later. This involved pain, fear, and visiting Urgent Care while on vacation. I am sharing this review in hopes that others can avoid what I went through by avoiding this place. Dr. Considine clearly has no understanding of ear injuries and water. I recommend googling physicians approved by the Divers Alert Network (DAN) and going to one of them.

She even met me on a Saturday (not office hours) to give my girl the last of her three-day antibiotic shots for an ugly ear infection. Personally, she diagnosed and has helped treat issues I've had for years -- that a counselor, midwife, dermatologist, and naturopath didn't catch. While it is a younger and smaller practice, I'm definitely willing to overlook a less-than-friendly receptionist who answered the phone a few times or confusion with paperwork. The care and professionalism we've received when it really counts is invaluable to me. Update (Feb 2018): she no longer has a frazzled receptionist. Leslie is always kind, warm, and welcoming! :)

Yet it was a complete let down from the moment I called to make an appointment. It was hard to get in, the woman on the phone was rude and not helpful and then my appointment was not scheduled correctly. Dr. Shelly was not any more impressive. Unfortunately, she was very impersonal, did offer a natural and holistic approach I was looking for and rushed me out of her office. I'll keep looking for someone that will offer me more than 15 minutes of their time. I wasted a $30 copay on 15 useless minutes.
