I expected to have a difficult time finding an attorney who would value my input. Ann was very kind. understanding and professional. . Ann focused on what she needed to do the job. Attorneys are often paid by the hour; I appreciated that she was probably trying to minimize the bill I would ultimately have to pay. Over the years I have consulted her on some other issues and found her knowledgeable, thorough and most prompt and with responses. Understanding is a two-way street. Karin should have realized that the questions an attorney asks that begins with why -- is the how the attorney gets the information they (the attorney) needs; it is not a judgement of the client's wishes. The client should answer the questions. I assume that Karin is not in any way familiar with the law and processes governing the issue she brought to Ann Goodman. An attorney is not a miracle worker -- they have to follow the applicable laws and ethical code that all practicing attorneys are governed by. From the tone of the review Karin wrote and posted, perhaps she is the one who had the rude attitude while asking for help from a professional.

I don't know where or how I stumbled across Todd but probably because of reviews like these that gave me the confirmation to go ahead and contact him for his services and I hope this review can help someone else in the future too. I don't know Todd on a personal level and I am embarrassed to say I don't even know what Todd looks like. All our interactions have been via email or over the phone and I typically prefer face-to-face meetings but Todd was extremely easy to work with and very responsive that I did not even need to meet the guy! Overall Todd is an extremely professional, courteous, and astounding guy. He is easy to work with, reasonable, and will get to the bottom of your case. He is experienced and has a wealth of knowledge and knows what he is talking about. He will not give you a run around answer or blow you off by any means. If you ever need a real estate lawyer, Todd is your man! For those who need additional details, I reached out to Todd via email for an initial consultation to see if he could provide his services to help me with my home purchase in Baltimore City. Being a first-time homebuyer, there are many things you don't know and you can easily be taken advantage of if you are not cautious and you don't have someone supporting you. The real estate law in Maryland can be tough and the contracts can be over 50+ pages! So I contacted Todd and asked him a few things and he responded within a few hours the same day/night (in the wee hours of the morning mind you) even though he was just coming back from vacation. Todd responded that he could and would and asked me to forward him the contract, without a single request for payment. I being a reasonable person understand that lawyers are a dime a dozen and they are not free so I asked for his cost and he told me his rates and how many hours he typically bills. We went back and forth a few times over email and he answered all my questions and was completely honest and fair. He then asked me to send over my contract before I signed it and he would review it for me. He reviewed the contract within a day and not only did he do all of that and more, he did not even charge me a single penny! He told me everything in the contract was standard and his services were not required in my situation and gave me a few pointers to move forward. I kept Todd in my contacts and I consulted him once or twice more along the way. He gave me excellent recommendations for inspectors and insurance agents and I used them and they were fabulous and just as easy and professional to work with. A couple of weeks before closing, Todd even reached back out to me and asked if I needed anything further for my purchase. We spoke over the phone this one time, and he was extremely helpful and listened to everything I asked and gave me suggestions. At this point I was completely shocked and thanked Todd tremendously. Lawyers are not cheap by any means and many won't even respond without establishing an attorney-client relationship first. Todd took it upon himself to help me and close all the loops without expecting anything in return. In addition, I learned from Facebook that Todd is also a great community guy and willing to help the people in the neighborhood. Todd works with realtors and insurance agents to provide workshops and information sessions for interested buyers, which is extremely great for new and inexperienced buyers. I'm sure Todd gets plenty of clients and does not need my referral or anything, but I want people to know what to expect and what they will be dealing with, and that is a wonderful and honest guy who goes the extra mile. Based on our conversation, I made my decision and although I offered to pay her for a phone consultation, she was kind and said it was her pleasure. I don't know that very many attorneys would give so much advice over a phone call that they ultimately end up, not getting the client, but she put my needs above just making a dollar and I truly appreciated that.
