Love these guys. I've worked with some pretty awful proptery managers in Stillwater (they know who they are!!) but when I found Milestone Property Management, I knew I had found my new managers! Last year I fired my managers and hired Milestone - they inherited a serious disaster. They got rid of a problem tenant, called me with updates, generated floorplans, and solved some major damage issues. They're straight forward, proactive, and honest. But most importantly, they took care of everything in a timely manner and re-rented my home at the worst possible time of the year for 37% more than I was getting before! As a property owner, I couldn't recommend them more strongly for management services. My only problem is that their website isn't well optimized for google, so if I forget what it is, it takes me a minute to find them online. read more

Millstone Property Management does not respond to leaseholder complaints, emails, phone calls or maintenance requests. Maintenance was scheduled for 8am today to fix the washing machine that has been broke for 2 months. The maintenance was a no show and no communication from them telling us that they could not make the appointment. Please please do you do diligence before signing a lease with them read more

Yes I live there since 2020 and I just recently moved back to my hometown Jamie Masterson is the landlord at the buccaneers apartments very poor attitude I was living there for a good while she was always a problematic anytime I approached it with an issue at the building she always accused me of being a drama queen when she text me or emailed me and it was a continued because if she's going to keep emailing me I want to keep responding and then she would say it with harassment as I was a tenant when I moved out in March of 2026 I was accused of many things by her and she was trying to charge me illegally she told me when I moved I could leave some stuff there in the apartment and they would take care of it what I did I got a text of complaints and saying I'm going to get charged but needless to say three other tenants and myself had mold in our apartment and we tried to get the maintenance to take care of it and it was untreated nothing was done about it again the landlord tried to charge me for that every little issue that I brought up to Jamie Masterson she tried to charge me and then I accidentally when I moved to Montana as a human mistake as anybody probably would do I brought the keys with me that belong to the buccaneers apartments she tried charging me a lot illegally even when I mailed them back she refused him the first two times from the male people after 2 months of moving here she continues as in Jamie Masterson keeps emailing me harassing messages claiming there's food in front of the apartment I rented from her I've been out of there for 3 months not my problem anymore and she still harasses me on emails and text messages to the point I had to report it to the police in Seattle Washington do not rent from buccaneers apartments they will charge you for every little mistake read more

Okay..this is going to be long but I feel people MUST know what they are getting into. Jim is rude. The quicker you realize that the better decision you can make. I seriously do not understand his problem. I tried every time to be as nice as possible and he will shut you down, yell over the phone, and hang up on you. Its not that he is having a bad day he just IS that way. Call him about a house..he'll be rude. My fiance and I rented a place from him and from the very beginning it was difficult. We were scheduled to move in on a Monday but since it was a holiday he was going to be on vaca so he told us we'd have to wait until Tuesday to move in- which posed a problem because I had to be out of my apartment by 4pm on Tuesday & we were just using a truck to haul multiple loads. We asked if he could just give us the keys on Saturday and he said if he did that he would have to pro-rate us $40 for each day. We thought that was ridiculous, said no.. reluctantly agreed to tuesday & gave him his check (two months rent & deposit) and what is the FIRST thing he did? Cashed the check. Which to me was a little unprofessional seeing as you are making us wait for your vacation time when we're on a time crunch. We let that go. Tuesday came and he wasn't in the office. My fiance called him and asked when he'd be available to give us the keys- he said not until 3 and hung up on him. I was flabbergasted so I called him and explained my situation very kindly and he screamed over the phone "I SAID, I'LL BE THERE AT 3, I'LL BE THERE AT 3, I'LL BE THERE AT 3." And hung up...my jaw dropped. He then called me back 30min later & said if we hurry he can hand off the keys. We went..we were not happy- he handed us the keys and the check list paper. Well...after all that we had pretty much gotten a good feel for Jim. He is a little crooked and doesn't mind showing it. SO we made him the check list of a century and if you rent there I suggest you do to. We made him TWO whole pages of stuff wrong with the house to make sure he wouldn't try to peg us with any of it after the lease was up. We took pictures, made copies..the works! So time goes by and he never seems to bother us. We pay rent on time every month..never have a reason to contact him. Then our AC won't blow cold air so he send his very rude repair man to come change the filters..well the filters Jim bought for the house didn't fit. So I called him, he said give them to the repair man and I'll have him get new ones. So we did. Fast forward to May of this year. Our lease is up- we've moved all our stuff out- cleaned the house like MAD MEN- we got rid of stains that had been there WELL before us- & are ready for his dreaded inspection. Again I take pictures. Jim comes in with his check list and turns the place upside down..firstly ACCUSING us of STEALING the filters. We argue...tell him the story of how we called him & he TOLD us to give them to the repair man. He gives up. After his sweep he leaves us with a check list..some minor cleaning duties like "get on your hands and knees and scrub the base boards" blah blah blah but then..slaps us with this. The yard. The yard was fine...mowed..edged..the works. We did all this the day before because we knew the lawn is our responsibility. He said the lawn isn't edged and therefore I will have to pay someone to do it it'll be $40 the first hour and then $30 every half hour after that. I asked how long it could take he said...hours. So he left and we did the rest of the cleaning- went to walmart bought a weed eater...edged then sold it to our neighbor..took pictures again, called Jim and invited him to come take a final look- he refused- so we very plainly said.."we took pictures." He said "oh. Fine." And that was that. It took him a month but we finally got our deposit in full (minus carpet cleaning) which we had questioned when we first moved in (the carpet smelled like animal dander, pee & cigarettes) so attached to our deposit was a receipt for carpet cleaning. :0) I do believe Milestone is one of those managements that will try EVERYTHING to keep your deposit. But you can rent there worry free if you do what we did. DOCUMENT everything.. & let it be known that you are. Good luck, happy renting. read more

whenever I called to ask about house he asked when I was looking to move and I told him and he just kept telling me to look at the website and when I asked why he couldn't tell me he said cause things can change. Milestone rental properties has been a disappointment. I have small kids and the water heater broke down, my garage flooded with water, I called and they said the best they can do is maybe Monday if they are open, frigid weather aproaching, 48hrs or more with no hot water and we have to go to work and school. What kind of property agency this is. They won't even come to the property to see if it needs to be replaced. He was extremely rude and disrespectful, yelling over me and hung up the phone. Don't waste your time renting from this agency, many questions not answered.. House always flooded with spiders as well. Shame on Jimmy, hope his family never has to go through this. read more

I lived in the same residence for nearly 8 years, 6+ of which have been with Milestone. Coming up on lease renewal for the 9th year I sent Jim an email with some questions about lease options. I explained that we were looking to move into something permanent over the course of the next year. I inquired about how easy/difficult it was to re-lease units mid-year and if they charged advertising fees to re-list a rental, with full knowledge that if we re-signed the lease, we would be responsible for the remaining term if he was unable to fill the unit after we vacated. (After all, that's the law.) After two weeks waiting for a response, I gave Jim a call. His response was that he had seen the email and that he would not be renewing our lease at all. Obviously there had to be some sort of mistake. We were ideal tenants. We had paid on time for years and the place was actually in better shape now than it had been when we moved in (the previous management company took really poor care of the unit). We were friends with our neighbor, didn't throw a single party, kept up with the yard, etc.. etc... So I tried to figure out why he would all of a sudden have decided not to renew our lease. After several minutes of discussion, it started to become clear... It did not matter to him that we were good tenants. His policy is to operate on the assumption that you're going to move away and just stop paying rent; there was nothing I could say to convince him otherwise. And even though the law provides means of restitution for those cases, and even though that's clearly not something we would ever do, he didn't care. He could clearly tell that the entire reason I made the inquiry in the first place was to make sure that no-one got burned down the line, yet he decided it was somehow in his interest to burn me instead. I now had barely 2 months to find a new place and put together all our moving arrangements. "Welcome to the real world" is what he said to me, and then he hung up. The worst part is, he truly seems to believe that his rude behavior is justified. Well in the real world, actions have consequences Jim. He doesn't seem to realize that he's in a customer support business. Some management companies will go out of their way to accommodate residents when things come up in life. Milestone is exactly the opposite. Jim expects you to go out of YOUR way to accommodate his policies and his attitude. So if you care about renting from a company that values integrity, Milestone Property simply doesn't fit that bill. read more

VERY RUDE!! Called just to see about looking at a couple of places and his response, in a very rude, annoyed sounding way, was to go online and all the details are there. I told him I did that and that's how I found the properties and asked to look at them. Again, rudely and as if he was annoyed he said go online and look at my policy.. I do not let people view my houses while there is a tenant living there (which is a good thing for a current tenant but what about some one interested in renting?). I asked about the June 1 availability and that our current lease is up May 30 so we would need to move in on June 1 but that I wasnt comfortable signing a lease without viewing the house first. He said, "well then you can look at it May 30 when current tenants move out." After that phone call and how rude and unprofessional this guy was no way would I ever consider renting from him. I cant imagine how he is as a landlord! Yes, he is probably mostly dealing with college students but he claims to be "skilled in marketing, professionalism, and great service" and after just that one 45 second phone call, there is no way this man is any of that! DO NOT RENT FROM THIS GUY!!! The manager Jim Craven is the rudest landlord you could ask for. It's impossible to have a conversation with him without him yelling and screaming like the whiny weasel he is. He has repeatedly accused me of things I did not do and without reason. When you try to explain to him that you're not the one responsible for certain things (like cigarette butts on the ground) he yells and hangs up. He refused to renew my lease because I had "too many people stay with me". I never had one party there. Occasionally friends would crash on the couch, but I never heard of that being against the law. Claims I was "running a hotel" out of my apartment. Yeah right. This guy has no idea how to do business or even communicate with normal human beings.... It was a blessing in disguise that he wouldn't renew my lease. JIM CRAVEN IS THE WORST. Don't expect courtesy, respect, or a security deposit back from this guy. read more

I had the strangest experience with this company. My wife and I found a perfect home to rent for the next 4-5 yrs while I pursued a PhD. The rent was what we were looking for and the home was perfect. We probably would have signed a two year lease that day. We called the management company (Milestone) and asked to view the property whenever would be convenient. He very rudely informed me that I could fill out an application at the office and hung up on me. What just happened? I have never spoken with anyone as blatantly rude as Jim Craven. I made the mistake of calling him about a duplex at 318 S Knoblock today and I was *shocked* by his attitude. When I asked if there was a time I could view the duplex (because who rents a place that they haven't even seen?) he said "I don't do looky-loos." Immediately I knew I was dealing with an asshole. He then goes on to say that he's busy and that if I want to view the property I will need to come by his office "with my checkbook" to pay for a background check. I don't have a problem with paying for a background check, but I haven't even seen what condition this place is in, and Stillwater has its fair share of slumlords. Then he asks if I'm looking at other places, to which I replied that I was (who just looks at one place?) and he says to just go look at those before even calling him. At this point my jaw was on the ground. I just couldn't believe how rude this guy was being. Then he asks when I'm looking to start my lease and I said in January. He says that I need to "actually" read his ad because the lease starts in December. I told him that nowhere in the ad did it say the lease started in December (frankly, I've never even seen a lease starting in December; almost all of them start in January). His response? "Well it starts in December. If you want to see it, bring your checkbook to pay for a background check." Then he hung up the phone. I was livid after this conversation. Just read the rest of the reviews and you'll see the same story over and over. Most of the reviews aren't long enough for Yelp to recommend, but if you spoke with him you'd realize he isn't worth the time to even write about.
