Went in for a haircut. Logan has always cut my hair but she was busy so I took the first gal who was available...,big mistake. Turns out she was a trainee...very nice gal and respectful but she should not have been turned loose on customers...this was the owners fault 100%. Tried several times to fix this and that about the hair cut and finally the owner tried to fix it and it was better but very brusque and really disrespectful when I tried to pay and told me 'she didn't need this' and not to come back. Wow! She turns someone who absolutely should not be cutting customer's hair loose on me and when it goes south, tells me it is my fault and not to come back??? If you go there, make an appointment with either Logan or the younger man. I'd avoid anyone else there like the plague. I had so many cuts and nicks on my face, I could have shaved with the light off in the complete darkness with my left hand (I am right handed). I came here for the first time after learning that my two barber ladies in Highland were not vaccinated against Covid, and did not wear a mask when cutting my hair. I've been using them for a decade or more. Calling three other establishments in Milford and Highland area, others responded honestly to my question: Are your barbers vaccinated? On my fifth call to Milford Barbers, the response was yes, all our barbers are vaccinated. I scheduled a cut and was very satisfied with it. Maria was the barber and she wore a mask during the cut, and had no problem removing the elastic of my mask when necessary. Something my prior barbers would not do. I am a man. When I need my hairs cut, I don't need a man cave atmosphere. I need a barber shop that is friendly, courteous, professional, and looks and smells like a barber shop. To that end, Milford Barbers is knocking it out of the park. When I walked in the door, nearly every employee said hello. There were families taking care of two and three kids at a time and the staff was happy to oblige. The banter of small talk could be heard as well as stories between life-long friends. It's evident that they are a part of the community with flags representing the local high school football teams as well as other local odds and ends. My barber made me feel right at home even for my first time. He understood exactly what I was looking for and took a professional and efficient approach to meeting my needs. Though the haircut both my son's received was good, the stylists had no personality and the $22 per cut is uncompetitive within this area. It was only after the cuts were done that I was informed that they only take CSAH or CHECK as forms of payment. NOT GOOD BUSINESS! I had to go into Red Dog Saloon and withdraw cash with a $3 service fee, so at the end of the day each haircut cost me $23.50 without tip. Save your money and find somewhere else to go. read more

The barbers here will not wear a mask even if requested. I understand that, but when I asked as politely as I could, the barber aggressively told me he will not wear one. The only reason I drove out there was because Ken & Maria had excellent reviews on Yelp. It was my bad, I mistakenly assumed they would wear a mask on request. Maria stated as emphatically as the other barber if I wanted a haircut, no mask would be worn. I'm a high risk senior and found another barber that will accommodate my needs. Years ago, my husband used to live in Milford. Nowadays we live 35 minutes away, yet still we drive to this quaint town once every 5 weeks in order for him to get his 'do done did! Ken is a warm, kind person and great barber. He is the owner of Milford Barbers and the only one allowed to touch Erin's hair! I am not a big fan of the straight up military look so I always get to add commentary as to the length of his hair, and I am always asked if he looks satisfactory. Which I think is super attentive of him. Whenever my dad is in town (or should I say country) he looks forward to visiting this shop and get his few remaing hairs trimmed. The absolute worst! Don't go here! I took my 6 year old son here about a month ago and had a wonderful experience with the guy that cut his hair. He gave a great cut and was beyond kind. Yesterday, I scheduled a haircut for my son again. There was a road closure on our way and we walked in a few minutes late. The woman working in there (I'm assuming the owner) asked what time our appointment was for, I told her 10:00, and she immediately told me I was a few minutes late. I apologized and tried explaining what happened. She was incredibly rude and dismissive. I apologized again and offered to leave. She called for Karla, in the back room, and said that would be up to her since she had a 10:30 appointment next. Karla came out and said she needed to look at her schedule to let me know if she could cut my little boys hair (even though they had just said her next appointment was at 10:30). She stood there looking at her phone for a period of time, before I said never mind, we are leaving. The woman (I believe the owner) started telling my son "you're a few minutes late buddy." It was 10:09 at that time. I was absolutely a few minutes late, but nothing outrageous. I'm disappointed how I was treated and the fact that it was done in front of my young son and infant daughter. I started getting my children out of the shop when my son asked me what was going on. We were already stepping out the door when I told him that we were late and they were not understanding. The owner literally screamed at us "get out of here!" Literally screamed at a mother, an infant and a little boy. I have never been treated like this in my life. I would have left and never said a bad word if they simply said they couldn't accommodate us. This barber was recommended by friends of our because of their work in design in kids heads. We were given w different barber the. The one we signed up with- this one instantly said no to all our ideas- then we asked if the other lady was Maria- Maria said yes in a very cold response I showed her the picture of the art she did for our friends kid and she said no she does t do that or numbers blah blah. Then I'm their Facebook page it shows she does. i have a poor review on Facebook which she manages so she deleted it and wrote to me via messenger and was incredibly unprofessional and rude calling me "sweetie"- I am 40 years old. I LOVE MARIA, I have had the hardest time finding someone to cut my hair into a VERY precise bob so a friend of mine suggested I try a barber shop instead of beauty salon I live in Milford so I thought I would give it a try and there I found Maria she IS AMAZING!!!!! first of the shop is hilarious even though it is usually a man's domain in there they were inviting friendly and funny great relaxed enviroment. now Maria not only did she give me the BEST haircut I have had in years she was warm friendly and knowledgeable she now has a customer for life and I have been singing her praises to anybody that will listen read more

For 19$, something I consider rather expensive for a barber cut, it really wasn't that good. My hair was a bit longer than what I wanted to come in for and I got nicked above my ear. Service was great but do NOT go in there and ask for a beard trim and expect a beard trim. I had grown my beard for a year and asked for a "trim" instead I had almost the whole beard cut off by a man that said beards were his "Forte!" So I typically get my hair/beard cut in sterling heights by "Brothers" which give the most incredible line-up/cuts in a 10 hour radius. I went into the Milford barber strictly looking to get a beard trim. I was told over the phone that it would run me up 8$ which is somewhat reasonable. I got a sub par lineup job and had to heckle the lady to keep fixing it up. She took too much off my neck and failed to even use shaving cream when using the straight razor, she proceeded to use nothing which burned and stung my neck. Ended up being charged 22$ for the service......I didn't even get a fricken haircut....the ladies name is Marie, who is foreign and speaks broken English. I've been a semi regular customer (about 6 to 7 haircuts/year) since they've opened. I bounce back and forth between The Haircut Lounge for Men, The Milford Barbers and the The South Lyon Barbershop. Your going to get a great haircut at either place. I want to make it clear that the Barbers and Stylists at Milford Barbers are professional, provide top notch service and really care about their work. You will get a great hair cut. But let me make it clear to the reader; They do not take debit card and no where on their door, windows or walls does it say "cash only." After a hair cut I was left waiting for my wife to bring up cash to pay for my cut, I found this embarrassing and unbelievable that a local business doesn't care enough about their clients that they won't offer different methods of payment. They will argue that it costs them money to take debit / credit but lets be honest here, the price for a hair cut at Milford Barbers is already $3 to $4 higher than everyone else, and EVERYONE else takes debit! read more
