Belligerent customer service action by Katie on the morning of Nov 5, 2025. As soon as she heard me mention my particular insurance, her attitude changed and she gradually became rude on the phone. She would not listen and she finally hung up on me when I showed frustration. It's the ATTITUDE I'm reporting, not that insurance issue. You can of course deny a customer service, but be nice about it. Major disappointment because I have been going here for years and everyone else has always been nice - joking around, etc--and super cooperative. I had a terrible experience at the office; I don't think any of these "clinicians" are real dentists because they barely know how to use the equipment, let alone know how to do simple cleanings. I was diagnosed with having 4 cavities, but I was not in any pain! I decided to go to another dental practice that was run by professional dentists, and they told me I did not have any cavities! I will NEVER go back to Milford Smiles, they are hacks who clearly don't have experience as real U.S. dentists! read more

I just wanted to update my review again. I cannot believe how unprofessional this place and practice is. I didn't even need a crown to begin with. The time and worries hat I have gone through with their appt and money was such a waste. My original crown has no problem at all. The Dr took an xray and told me I needed a new crown to put in. Blah blah blah. They literally drilled and took my old crown. No root canal needed and fit me with a new crown. Yesterday I went back to ask for adjustment coz the new crown is not the right size, my retainer won't fit. However, Dr Issa told me to go to orthodontist and get a new retainer. He didn't take any responsibility for not asking me a medical question. As most professionals would have, to find out if your patient have night guards or retainer, etc! I got hurt a few times during the two visits to fit and readjust my crown, they were so rough with me with their equipment. I got hurt and irritated from yanking my mouth open for xray and when I asked for some Vaseline. They gave me an attitude and one nurse even left and ask someone else to help me. When I went to another dentist and told them what I have gone through. They all are shocked about the process and procedure of what Dr Issa did to me. It really seemed like they just scam ppl and keep telling that they need to replace something... a crown or other things. Please avoid getting yourself into pain/ trouble.... They just want to get pay from the insurance company. So unethical and unprofessional. The management team and dentist are unfriendly and rude. They talked loudly about other patients in the office... rude attitude and lack of empathy. read more

Normally I get my dental exams twice a year like clockwork, and I'm in my fifties so that's been for quite a while. The pandemic really threw me for a loop. It was a full three years before I felt comfortable going into a dentist office again. I also needed to find a new location. I did quite a lot of research before giving Milford Smiles a try. I was *thrilled*. First, the location is easy to find, has a lot of parking, and is nice and quiet. I'd already done the online sign-in, which was quite simple to do, so check-in was fast and smooth. Another few minutes and I was in the patient room with Trish. Trish was amazing. The x-ray process was probably the quickest I've ever seen while also thorough. She also took photos of my teeth. Then we moved on to the cleaning. I was wholly prepared for the cleaning to take a while. It'd been three years, after all, and I admit that in my "pandemic haze" I hadn't always taken great care of my teeth. Still, Trish kept at it with smiling efficiency. She was always attentive to my status, asked if I needed a break, and was right there with rinse and suction. My teeth were a bit sensitive but she did her best to accommodate that. She gave me a number of helpful suggestions on how to handle the sensitivity and to help my gums become healthier. The dentist then came in. He was also supportive and encouraging. It turns out I had no cavities! Hurrah! I was given my goody bag of toothbrush / toothpaste / floss, and I was all set. It was about the best possible outcome I could have thought of after years away from the dental-care routine. And, again, the staff from start to finish was warm, encouraging, and supportive. They listened to my thoughts and offered helpful ideas. Every person I met made me feel welcome and cared for. Highly recommended. read more

Terrible experience getting dentures. It's been over 4 months, I've been back 5 times to get my dentures fitted. Everytime I'm told they didn't do it right. I've lost 40lbs because I can't eat solid food. I get nothing but the run around when I'm there. The level of incompetence is disgusting. I came here and was told I needed to get a cavity re filled. Dr. B re filled my cavity and all was fine until about three weeks later when I started to have pain when eating cold foods. I've never had an issue with a cavity filling before and my tooth had no issues until I came here. Then I scheduled another appointment to see Dr. Issa because Dr. B was out. He was extremely rude and unhelpful and told me I "may" need a root canal he was "unsure" what the other dentist did and unsure why I was having pain he has "never seen that before" . He told me he could not help me and to come back and see the dentist who did my filling. So I did and she also had no clue and said maybe it's irritated, maybe I need antibiotics, maybe I need a root canal ... the dentist should definitely know how to proceed yet none of them do. I now go to a different dentist . I did not need a root canal or anything before coming here. read more

I have been going to Milford Smiles for, I am guessing about ten years now. I was there yesterday for 3 fillings, which I was dreading. I already truly dislike ANY dental work, so I especially dreaded 3 fillings, which I knew would involve unpleasant drilling, pasting, etc... YUK! This would be the first time that I had any fillings at Milford Smiles. I saw Dr. Issa. The process went fast, and was painless. Novocaine preceded 3 fillings. While I had braced myself for the worst, for painful drilling, pain never materialized. Instead, the process was over quickly, we were done... I experienced no pain, NONE, which was great! Similarly, my dental cleanings have always been uneventful, the hygienist is consistently thorough, the process painless. I have also had a deep scaling before there, which is like a cleaning below the gum lines, which was also painless, which makes it easier to bear. I noticed my review was deleted from their website. It's an old review from last year but I feel the need to warn people about this place. I went in with a serious infection with swelling in my face and pain. The Dr (male) asked where I'd been...why I hadn't seen a dentist because my back teeth were a mess. I explained that I nearly pass out in the dentist chair and have a true fear of going. I was met with more "so you just don't go...clearly!...I'd love to know where you've been" Ok who the f*ck cares where I've been. I had a medical/dental issue and he's a dentist. I asked that I be given a script for antibiotics after he started work on the tooth and he refused. My face looked like I had a baseball in it. He REFUSED an antibiotic. I walked out I went to another dentist in Milford and he sent me directly to an infusion clinic. He said I was 24 hours away from a hospital stay. He too was APPALLED at this Dr's behavior and decision to deny me penicillin. I have one word to say about this guy: RUN read more

Run, don't walk to another dental firm! My granddaughter has had nothing but problems with this office. The tooth they just filled with a new restoration fell out in less than a month. They left her with nerve damage in the area novacaine was applied (the dentist's hands were shaking, can you imagine?). The heavy set girl in the office was totally rude and had "attitude" problems! My granddaughter is left with nerve pain, an infilled tooth, and a search for a reputable dentist! read more

I had been going here for years. They were ALWAYS trying to upsell something. One time I got a second opinion and there was no need to do the procedure recommended by MS. I got a crown put in BY Milford Smiles in 2016 and then years later in 2020 I went to them because my crown was the wrong size (too big) and had begun to hurt and to get food stuck in it. They told me it would be $1000 dollars to replace it, even though THEY were the ones who incorrectly put in the crown in the first place. I have an extremely limited budget so there's no way I could afford this. I now live far away from Milford Smiles thankfully, but I will never forget how they wouldn't fix the mistake that they made. I had three visits to Milford smiles, paid with c.card. as a result of 3 pulled teeth i had very bad disbilitating pain, called to ask doctor to subscribe some 800 mg (which he did at an earlier visit) but the office did absolutly nothing....they called FOUR HOURS later and told me to cvs for some asprine instead of having me come over to allow the dentist to check me out!!, anyway had to deal with the pain with no help from the M.S.office. will never go back nor will i suggest anyone go there and think they will help a paying customer. read more

Awful. If I could give ZERO stars I would. Absolutely poor customer service. The dentist I worked with did not help explain things to me or tell me what was going on or what they were doing. They never asked for any payment so I figured they would bill me and then one day the girls at the desk told me I could not walk out of that office until I paid over $250. I walked out of there in tears. I later received a bill for over $1,000 dollars which leads me to believe they were balance billing me which is completely ridiculous. I tell everyone of my experience and everyone is mortified. I've helped a LOT of people avoid this place and will continue to do so. This place is the absolute worst. read more

I was a bit hesitant because of other reviews but I'm so glad I went! I hadn't been to the dentist in a while and was definitely nervous. Right from the front desk I was made comfortable and felt very welcomed. The hygienist was amazing, she did a wonderful, thorough job. She took her time and definitely didn't rush like I've seen at other dentists offices. She checked throughout the visit to make sure I was comfortable. The dentist was also amazing! My nephew went here and he had a cleaning and two cavities filled. had a great experience

Paid thousands for full dentures. Dentures came back flimsy and near transparent. Also told reline included in cost. Went in for a simple visit to grind off a burr that was causing pain and received a bill of $50 for two minutes time. Found out reline would cost out of pocket and not included. Dentures broke in half shortly there after. Dental posts put in with dentures rotting from the bone out. Would never recommend them to anyone, and warn people to stay away. read more

Dr. Lee is is awesome with my 96 year old Mom. Would not take her anywhere else. She cares and understands at 96 you may not understand all that is going on and works with me in finding alternate means of care for my Mother. Always making sure she is comfortable. Doesn't push crowns and bridges on the elderly like some dentists. Thank you for the care you have given her. read more

I went to Milford Smiles For the First Time last week. My dentist of 30 years had retired so I was looking for a new dentist. for 20 years my dentist had put white fillings over the top of my two front bottom teeth because of my overbite. Every three to five years he would replace them when they would come off. Very simple white filling over the top of the tooth, took 20 minutes to fix usually. At Milford smiles I saw a dentist that not only told me he hadn't been working for long but told me he couldn't promise that my feeling would last more than two weeks! Since all my others had lasted years I thought that was a bit ridiculous and I asked to speak with a different dentist who maybe had more experience. He said there was no one there to talk to but he would consult with the other dentists and get back to me. I guess they weren't any other dentist there that could do a filling that lasted more than 2 weeks. Do not ever go there! Unprofessional, not knowledgeable, unable to do a simple white filling and rude enough to never to call me back! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE!! read more

The most painful cleaning of my life! Hygienist spent more time scraping and poking my gums with the pick than my teeth! She literally made me cry! Have always been diligent about oral hygiene and have had my teeth cleaned every 6-months my entire life. Never experienced anything like this! Hygienist couldn't even get the floss between my back molars?! My gums are beyond sore. Stay away from this place. read more

Been going to this practice for 65 years; changed hands four times through the years. Recommend the new administration; have had fillings,root canals and caps done. They will show you a picture of the issue so you can see there is a problem. Have all of the above work done without any issues. read more

Amazing experience! Make an appointment! I was terrified to visit the dentist. What a truly satisfying experience when I visited Milford Smiles! The front office staff (Lorena) was great: polite, sincere and had empathy for my concerns and assured me I was doing the right thing by making an appointment. The hygienist that worked on me was in one word: meticulous. I explained to her (Caitlyn I believe was her name) my concerns and fears and she dug right in and got to work reversing the damage I had caused to my teeth. My exam, cleaning and x-rays were completely painless and thoroughly executed. She didn't miss a spot. My teeth looked amazing after that ONE visit. Lastly, Dr. Bleak came in to meet me after the appointment and examine the work they had done. He had so much patience for all my questions and really listened to me. He didn't try to up sell me or convince me I needed procedures I didn't. I can't believe I can say that I can't wait to visit the dentist's office again! Very, very professional cleaning, care and people at Milford Smiles. When I filled out the new patient form I answered, "No" when asked, "Do you like your smile?" I will say I am NOT impressed with the office staff. We made an evening appointment almost 2 weeks in advance only to be told the day of the appointment that the doctor wasn't on the schedule for that particular evening. The best they could do to fix their mistake was an appointment 4 weeks later. When you have a borderline abscessed tooth, you can't wait 4 weeks for them to fix their mistake. Worst experience ever. I had a dentist who is no longer with the practice damage a crown they did and have gone back several times but Dr. Goldberg insists nothing is wrong with it. This week the center of the crown fell out. Another cleaning and exam and the hygienist said I had a pocket so bad she couldn't measure it, I had to see a specialist who said there was nothing wrong with my gums but my insurance only covers one visit to the specialist over the lifetime of the insurance contract. If I ever do actually need help it will ALL be out of pocket to me. I had another crown done by them and it fell out twice. I also have pain around one tooth, I've been back twice and they x-rayed it and said nothing was wrong but it hurts and continues to bleed when I floss so really? ALL of this is TRUE. I am not exaggerating, I wish I was. Do not go to this group. read more

I completely agree with J S. below! Each time I went there was a new dentist. The reception staff is definitely not the brightest and working with them was just painful. The last time I went there the dentist was not professional and seemed way too laid back for my liking. My husband then went in after my last appointment and they told him he needed 6 old fillings repaired! He had just been there 6 months prior for a cleaning, how did those fillings deteriorate that quickly?! I would not recommend this dentist! read more

I went to Milford Smiles about 3 years ago to get my teeth cleaned and the dentist there told me that I needed a fill in. In the process of doing this he somehow managed to chip my tooth. As I looked at him in awe he then told me not to worry about it that he would just fix it along with the fill in. I then looked @ his assistant and she just shrugged her shoulders and noded her head. My fill in is now falling apart and so is the bonding agent on my tooth. I called the office to see what they would for me last week and after explainig my situation they told me that the dentist I saw no longer worked there and it wasn't their fault. She told me that Dr Golberg bought the practice from him in 2004 and he wasn't responsible for what he did. I then explained to her that I was there in 2008 not before 2004. After abou a 10 second pause She then asked me if I wanted to make an appointment for an exam that woull cost $122.00 just to look at the tooth that THEY BROKE and then would give me a quote on how much to fix it.... I SAID ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? I GO FOR A CLEANIG AND YOU GUYS HACK UP MY TEETH AND NOW YOU WANT THO CHARGE ME $122.00 JUST TO LOOK AT IT AND THEN YOU"LL GIVE ME A QUOTE????? MY ADVICE..... I have had multiple problems with this office..way too many to include here. Lastest problem I'm fixing is a Broken tooth they caused but will not admitt their mistake. They "repaired" the tooth twice now only to have the filling come out for the second time. I think they create circumstances so that they can extend the work they have to do and the place is a revolving door withd different Dentist. Every time I have gone, there have been new Dentist on staff because the last one left. The office staff is less than desirable to top it off. Do not go to this Dentist office. This used to be a great dentist office when Dr. Whitman was there. At this point I'm through with them. I have been a patient there since I was 6 years old and am now 40 - that's about 34 years of being a patient. Unfortunately they treat you as if you just started going to them a year ago. There is no longer "trust" at this dentist, even though I have been a faithful customer for 34 years. It seems like they are just out to make money now and no longer care about the customer. I was also misquoted about $500.00 in an estimate and after the work was done and I paid the extra money I was pretty much told "too bad" that's the price and we're sorry. I used to see Dr. Whitman all the time and loved him. This office has HUGE turn over at the dentist position which is not very comforting. It seems every time I go there I see a different dentist. You gain a trust and relationship with one of them and next time you go in they're no longer there and you are now seeing a different dentist. Twice now I have had fillings that I needed to return because of pain. I went for a 6 month cleaning and one dentist told me everything looked good. I went 6 months later and was told (by another dentist) I needed 2 filling and a crown immediately. When I said I would wait on the crown because I can't afford it at this time I was told " That's fine with me, if you wait then that means you will need a root canal before the crown and that's just more money you will have to spend?" The dentist was basically making me feel guilty for not having the crown done!? How can I go from a clean bill of health to 6 months later needing all this work done? I can go on and on but I loved the family atmosphere and being treated like a person rather than a number when Dr. Whitman ran this place. At this point it really feels like money grab operation and the revolving doors of dentists is not what I'm looking for. It could be just me but I like seeing the same dentist over and over again, not a different dentist every time I go in. When I do get comfortable with a dentist they end up leaving and you have to start all over. Dr. Goldberg is good but you must have to be special to actually see him. read more

I went to this dentist for a couple fillings. A year later, I have to go to a different dentist because every filling I had is awful. One of them resulted in a broken tooth! I have always had good dental hygiene and this was absolutely terrifying. When I went to a different dentist (I would never trust this place with my teeth again), they told me that the filling next to this one was about to fall out as well! Absolutely horrible.
