Had a sweet cheese glob in the center in the middle of all the cinnamon rings. Some nice fruit in the mix. Much more exciting than a normal morning bun. Brownie: Very dense and very rich. Had a gooey center. Pretty intense for breakfast, but you can save some for later in the afternoon for a pick me up.

The pesto was fragrant, it packed a bold basil flavor, and they used a generous amount! The pesto was made with almonds instead of pine nuts. Honestly, I couldn't tell the difference. The multi-grain bread was a good, hearty choice. I liked that they gave me the option to have the sandwich pressed. I gladly said yes, as nothing brings a sandwich together better. ;) The side salad was a pleasant surprise. It was a spinach salad with balsamic vinegar and sunflower seeds. It was a great way to squeeze in some extra veggies! The only thing I would change is to add more sun-dried tomatoes. Vegan cheese doesn't always have the best melting abilities, but I was okay with that. THE BAD: The cupcake was dense and flavorless. The only good thing about it was the icing. The cappuccino tasted burnt. It was the worst I've had during my entire European trip. My sandwich was good, but unfortunately my overall experience was terrible. I have never had worse customer service than I did at Chapter One Coffee Shop. The disrespect I received was flabbergasting. It truly made me feel awful. I wanted to leave, but my need for caffeine overpowered my desire to walk out. After I sat down to finish my cappuccino, I thought maybe it was just me, maybe I was overthinking. However, shortly after, an employee came to my table and apologized on the other employee's behalf. That was nice and validating. It confirmed my feelings and experience. Trust me, I get that working in the service industry is difficult. Nevertheless, there's no excuse for that type of behavior. It put a sour taste in my mouth, and everything I ate was tainted. Adele's Cafe arrived without warning, or pomp about a week ago, and I have been looking for an excuse to walk in ever since. The sign out front proclaiming that they stock Artisan Roast should be enough to tempt any coffee lover. I have not been disappointed. My double-shot flatwhite is delicious. Perfect temperature, perfect strength, perfect taste. And at £1.90, a bargain. I shouldn't be surprised, the owner-operator is an Australian who definitely knows her coffee. This cafe doesn't just serve up great coffee, they also have a selection of teas available, and a cabinet full of delicious looking things to stuff into a made-while-you-wait filled roll or panini. The interior has character -- far more than any of the other local establishments offer, but only a small amount of seating. The walls are decorated with artwork by locals (in fact, for a while this space housed a gallery), and there are jams/lemon curd and handmade cards etc for sale too. Best of all, this place caters to coeliacs -- so if you are gluten free, Adele's Cafe could be your utopia. This place is definitely worth walking the extra block for.

You get the impression a lot of locals come down here for a brew and are always remembered and valued by customers. They offer a bit more at lunchtime than just panini's and all in all it's a very pleasant eat indeed!
