I'll present the facts first: I was driving in the slow lane, picked up my phone briefly for a second (as in literally then put it down) without even activating the screen, therefore it is like any other object in that moment and then the CHP patrol car in the far left lane started tailing me for some time, pulled up to the left and then pulled in front of me, flashing the light for a second before getting off at the next exist. Interpretation: This is a guy who is itching to exercise/abuse his authority but knew he didn't have me on anything since I was not speeding, even though I didn't speak or text on the phone nor even brought it anywhere close to me, it was simply within arms reach in the passenger side seat. I think this is a psychological issue but they will not filter for people like this nor do anything about it. Every officer is different, but experience like this makes me disgusted at even addressing one with respect with the title of officer. Notice none of the Yelp listings are claimed either and there are reviews dating years back. It seems to me whether you're writing a positive or negative review what it comes down to is they don't care. It's a nice idea that a positive experience is published, but will they even see those? I also know at other times when I've called to report something the person answering sounded like I'm just a bother. Heaven forbid actual public safety is taken care of.

Kevin Cook, Neighbor post…read more Since the beginning of the pandemic we each, in our own good conscience, have faced with such profound consequences whereas our lives have been forever shattered by the tragedy and traumatized experience we had endured in the last decade. If ever, Malcolm X and MLK, Jr were as alive nowhere, in their spirits, embodied what we came together as one body of people, United we stand... during the last night followed by this afternoon, an elderly woman who finally got help after several hours of attempting to get the proper care and to facilitate her needs since she was being traumatized by her past based on sexual assault and the crime evolves around her from the post-Vietnam war era: In her words as well as mine we are strong, the bond we develop as surrogate mother and son, looking after her, putting my foot in front of another, when we were once lost that dramatically changed our lives as of today, right now, I could not have said another reason to determine that my mission was subsequently accomplished, after several hours of desperately trying to get help from the local police officers and other government agencies, who within hours of my last frantic call for help have finally heard my call and decided to heed it. My personal thanksgiving to the members of the local organizations including police officers and medical staff as well as the modern day therapists and the invincible strong arm of our women at Community Violence Solutions here in San Rafael California and not to mention the Marin General Hospital who, with their courage never wavering in the fight not only for the COVID-19 but the brutality of our community whose violence was intended to destroy the fundamental of our lives, not to mention the ones who lay their lives on the line of duty to help keeping our community safe. Something in the wind tells me that this world itself will change in time and the time we all can be healed infinite with wisdom from the love and grace our Father and the Son, who, to this day have heard our cries and have never left us....

I just got a ticket for being over 18 inches away from the curb. By officer A Shaw number36, I…read morepulled out a measuring tape, and measured it. It's only 16 inches! He obviously did not measure it! The good part was I called the officer trough the switch board of the police department, left a message, He cared to call back and clarify the issue, and in fact I was mistaking the Law. The measurement was from the passenger side not the driver side----- So, Now I have to pay a $40.00 ticket. But I liked the fact, that there are real people behind Law enforcement that care to communicate!

I understand that issuing citations is part of the job and there is a certain stress level built into the occupation. In general, I respect law enforcement and I'm a law abiding citizen with absolutely no previous record. Today, I was pulled over while riding my bicycle for "rolling through" a stop sign. Fair enough, a verbal warning and/or a ticket followed by an exchange of pleasantries such as "Be safe, and have a nice day" would have been greatly appreciated. Unfortunately, instead of returning the respect that I was showing the officer, I received nothing but disrespect from the officer. I'm extremely disappointed in the lack of people skills and frankly the lack of respect this individual displayed as a representative of law enforcement. I'm usually a very positive person but this experience just left me so drained and bummed out that I felt it necessary to join yelp to express my dissatisfaction. Please note: I'm not advocating that civil disobedience, malfeasance, or the like should be tolerated by law enforcement. However, it seems to me that the police need to start showing a little respect when dealing with the folks who they are supposed to be serving. I'm seriously struggling with whether or not to favorably support law enforcement related programs moving forward as I feel helplessly under served by a group who touts they are here "To protect and serve". I'm hopeful that this message resonates loud and clear to those who are either currently serving as officers and/or those who are considering a career in law enforcement.

Cherniss and his partner (good guys) to discuss issues I had with SFPD, I came away with better understanding of what they do and how they do it. Wow. The fact that these men and women choose to be here (yeah. SFPD officers choose what district they work in) is something we should all be grateful for. If you think the TL is utter chaos now, imagine what would happen if these handful of people werent here. And it is unfortunately just a handful. You can thank the mayors office for that. Before you really get down on SFPD, go to the station and meet with the Captain. Go look at the duty board, particularly the injured list. These people are literally breaking their backs for you. Im still not a fan of the motorcycle cop that parked his bike in the middle of the cross walk while he ate at little henrys. Only a real asshole or moron would do something like that.

Review for Officer Gonzales - Richmond Police Department, CA…read more I want to sincerely thank Officer Gonzales for the incredible help he gave me today. My camper accidentally fell off my hitch near the train tracks by the highway, and I was in a stressful situation trying to figure out what to do. Initially, another officer saw what happened but drove off, leaving me unsure of how long I would be waiting. After about 25 minutes, Officer Gonzales arrived, and he was the only officer who stayed to help. He was amazing--he basically lifted my entire camper and helped me properly secure it back onto the hitch. I had made a mistake attaching it, and he handled the situation with patience, professionalism, and kindness. What really stood out to me is that he didn't make me feel worried or anxious at all. Most interactions I've had with police make me feel nervous, but Officer Gonzales was just there to help--he even said so himself. I had been on my way to the DMV to register the camper, so I was a little nervous when he pulled up, but his calm, helpful attitude completely put me at ease. I truly appreciate his assistance, and I want to publicly acknowledge his kindness, dedication, and professionalism. Officer Gonzales went above and beyond, and without him, I would have been stuck in a very stressful situation for much longer. Thank you!
