This was the third year of the races and I will say I don't know if Millcreek Commons is the best location to host them as it was a bit cramped and unorganized. The food trucks were hard to find in the back of the venue and there was completely chaos from the lack of line organization. It was still a fun event for sure, and you can tell everyone was enjoying themselves!

Lucky for me, you can rent a little walker situation that will help you stay upright as you learn (armature tip-skip the walker thing if you're over 5 feet tall). If you go on a Sunday morning, it's not too crowded so you don't have to dodge people or get out of their way when they want to zoom by. You can book online to reserve your slot, complete your waivers ahead of time and then just show up and hit the ice. It's a fun activity, and I'm glad we have something like this nearby. After a few more visits, maybe I'll be as graceful and skilled as I had imagined. Maybe.

They also wrap the trees in Christmas lights for the cold seasons so it's very festive. During the summer time they turn the ice rink into a splash pad for kids to play in. They also have a good size park for kids to play on. They have bathrooms to use but I don't use them just because I'm not a fan of park bathrooms in general. I recommend avoiding the park during the times middle schoolers get out of school and are walking home because when I do my daily walks around the park I always see the middle schoolers harass people at the park while they are with their friends. Also if you plan to go to the splash pad it's really busy and it's a smaller splash pad it can get cramped. The park also doesn't have the best shade spots so bring your own shade like umbrellas, tents etc.

County Ice Center is where I first learned to ice skate when I was five years old. I've also skated or played hockey at every indoor rink between Bountiful and Provo, and County Ice Rink remains one of my very favorites. The ice here is good quality, not too soft, but soft enough to cut into it with your edges. The staff does a fantastic job keeping the lobby and locker rooms clean. And if you're lucky enough to enjoy a hockey game or skating session when the windows shades over the hockey benches are drawn up, you'll have spectacular views of the Wasatch Mountains. Whether you're skating or watching, County Ice Rink is a great place to be!

No refund offered (in fact, one of the first things out of the employee's mouth was "sorry, no refunds" like they enjoyed the moment watching the smile fade from my kid's faces). No working with us. So hopefully someone reads this before going, and saves themselves the headache and the money. Directly from the FAQ of their website...
