Parking in the heart of Chicago can be quite challenging, especially if you're visiting and don't have all the 411 for that particular area. Well not to worry as you can gain valuable insight from fellow Yelpers to make your visit great. Thank you to fellow Elite Yelper Kiersten P. for sharing her 5-Star review of Millennium Park Garage and for introducing me to the parking app SpotHero. Much Mahalo! Using SpotHero to book parking was simple and easy. It gave me an incredible deal which allowed me to park closer to all the must see Chicago attractions. Millennium Park, The Cloud Gate (aka The Bean), Maggie Daley Park, Chicago Riverwalk, Navy Pier, Buckingham Fountain, Route 66, Etc. What can I say about Millennium Park Garage... Centrally located, underground, large and secure. Thank you!

The garage itself is well maintained, clean and seemed safe on the day we were there, Oct. 19 with no big events taking place. However the garage is massive in size and not as well labeled as it could be, especially in such a highly tourist area where visitors may never have used this garage before or not very frequently. The garage attendant had a difficult time explaining to us where we could find the section our car was located in. I wish he used a map to help guide us which we later found on our own. He mentioned going to the other garage and having to exit when actually our car was just around the corner from where the attendant was seated. He probably could have walked us there in 5 minutes instead we spent nearly 30 minutes circling around looking as it's a large area to cover. We took pictures of where our car was parked and recommend you take pictures too of the level and letter as well as even of the exit number and letter to reference back to if needed. We heard several people walking around lost as well. Eventually we walked over to the elevator where we saw a map of the garage and it helped us find our car. Adding more signs and maps around the garage would help. Also providing attendants with maps they could use to help visitors would be helpful and training them on how to navigate this enormous garage. Lakeside Garage and Millennium Park Garage are both the same garage with different entrances split into different halves of Millennium Park. Lakeside Garage is located closer to the the lake under Maggie Daley Park and Millennium Park Garage is located under Millennium Park. We used the Spot Hero app to get a good deal on parking here. This could be a great garage if there were more signage, maps and staff trained on how to use the maps.

It did the job. No issues getting in or out. Easy to find. Plenty of parking for a Sunday.

Charged $29 for 45 mins! It says $14 per hour online. We couldn't wait around for help but it left a bad impression.

Easy enough. Paid online and my car was still there when I got back, as I'd hoped and it's centrally located to where I wanted to explore

It might be intimidating and…read moreconfusing the first time you approach if you don't have a heads-up on this change, but I will tell you here what you need to do to make it a smooth and convenient operation for yourself. The main tip is to download the Metropolis phone app, enter your credit card info, phone number, and also the license plates of your cars. If you don't do it beforehand, you will be fumbling around doing it in the parking lot should you still choose to use the lot. As you drive in, your car plate will be scanned. You still have to scan a QR code either upon entering or before leaving the lot so it knows it was you in that car. You will then get an acknowledging text message from Metropolis. Enter and park. When you go to a restaurant that validates, scan the QR code in the restaurant, and the app will apply the discount to get you a parking rate of $3 for up to 3 hours instead of the lot's regular high rates of $10.99 to $18.99. When you depart, at the gate, your car plate will be scanned again, you will be recognized, and the gate will open, and you drive off and are done. Your credit card will be charged the $3 or whatever. Assuming everything works as I described, lol, and it did for me on my first use of the app today, it's all quite nice and seamless and no human interaction needed, nor any physical use of a credit card or paper receipts. I guess if you don't have a mobile phone, and/or don't want to use the Metropolis app, you can't park here any more! Anyway, I say thumbs up!

We got there and there's no sign displaying hourly rates itself. It's not until we go up a corkscrew ramp to get to a kiosk that it said $30 for two hours. For 0-2 minutes is $13. So either we bite the bullet or try to back down the windy ramp and hope no one was behind us... we bit the bullet thinking that if we went through and had to pay $13 and then pay for another parking spot which would've been more expensive than $30. We were parked no more than 2.5 hrs and pulled up to $62 due!!! Completely predatory, bate and switch false advertising. Do not park here. We pressed the assistance button and a lady said she was unable to waive the fee or reduce the rate because it was a posted rate. Posted where? I didn't see 62$ anywhere and we would've risked backing down the ramp if we did. She said the manager would come in a moment but failed to provide accurate timing of when he'd be there because "Tracy" if that's his name pulled up with his lunch 20 minutes later. In that time two cars passed both shocked at the rate they also needed to pay. We were met with very little empathy. They provided very poor communication. We literally just started our trip and didn't have time to checkout one of the landmarks on our list because of this ordeal. Awful service.

As I…read morerode down in the elevator, there was a prominently displayed sign, stating in part "$24.25 In by 10am up to 12 hours." I left the garage at 2.33.08PM for a total parking time of 4 hours and 36 minutes. All conditions of the sign to get the price of $24.25 were met so I submitted a request on 7.24.2026 for a refund. "Audrey" emailed asking for my receipts and other information which I provided. She then gave me a lot of song and dance and double-talk about accounts, rates, passes, and a MINT something, then passed me along to the location manager. Well apparently "Glenn" is too busy to email or just doesn't give a damn. It seems this company, garage, and Glenn have all never heard of a few little things called false advertising and bait-n-switch. RUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
