My daughter and her husband tried to convince him that a mistake was made and had to insist on another urine test. The baby never tested positive for any drugs. When her second urine test came back negative for all drugs that pediatrician had already had DSS called and sent a healthy baby to the NICU! His shift ended and he left and we were left trying to fight over the weekend when the patient advocate was not available! The DSS woman even told us that she should have never been called!!!!!

I have to say that I was visiting from Hackensack, NJ and that I was very impressed how clean the hospital was and how professional all the staff was. I don't like to compare but I live near Hackensack University Medical Center, St Joseph's Hospital in Paterson, NJ and I work at Holy Name Medical in Teaneck, NJ. I know that these are some of the best hospitals that are in my area.

The staff has had difficulty coordinating appointments, and messages are not consistently passed along to the medical team. In addition, patient records do not appear to be reviewed carefully. Because of this lack of attention, my child received the same vaccines again even though previous records had already been provided. This is unacceptable and raises serious concerns about accuracy and patient care. We are currently looking for a more reliable office that can better meet her medical needs.

There is even a Build a Bear room, where he got to choose a favorite bear after a recent surgery! We have been treated very well, also, as visitors. There is a fabulous sitting area with all sorts of ways to either relax or play. Pool tables, ping pong, and lots of comfy seating, are provided. There is also a food service area. Parents who need to stay onsite may use a lovely outdoor area with grills and shaded seating. If a child you know is going to be at Shriners, just know that they - and you - will get the best of treatment.

There were a…read morecouple of decent moments where they would accommodate something like needing food or an extra blanket, but my friend's reason for admission was pain. As someone who suffers from sickle cell and is often overlooked when in a pain crisis, he explained to doctors what kind of treatment he would need to subside the issues and they continued to neglect him and give him the lowest possible doses of what he needed on a ridiculous schedule. If you are looking for emergency treatment for pain in a sickle cell crisis do not choose this hospital! You will get stuck with a bill for nothing. He couldn't even sleep from the pain and requested 15mg of melatonin which he usually takes and they would only give him 6. MELATONIN! This hospital is unequipped to deal with this kind of situation, and clearly not educated to the needs of someone with this issue.
