Miller's is a 250 mile round trip m/c ride for me but worth every mile. The food is excellent and if you get an opportunity to spend a few minutes with Mr. Ray it is just icing on the cake. Enjoyed my food, although my family didn't. Lol The young lady who fixed my plate did a good job to not pick out the fatty spots of meat or dry spots on the mashpotatoes. She was sweet. The older lady gave my mom the end piece of meatloaf which was dried out. read more

A person recommended this place and told me how great the pies are so I decided to try the place out. I had the meatloaf, broccoli with cauliflower, sweet potatoes, lima beans with a slice of white bread. Also, a slice of coconut pie. Staff was friendly and they are very reasonably priced. I didn't really care for the meatloaf though the sides were good. Pie was good too! Would try again but something new. read more

Just does not get any better than Miller's Bread Basket. You taste the homemade difference every time, and wonder why you'd ever eat anywhere else, to where I wish they were open today (Sundays). My "usual" is the mouth watering meatloaf, carrots, cabbage, beets, and a slice of cinnamon raisin bread. Shoo fly pie or cheesecake, if I want to "over indulge," although the shoo fly pie is so good, I simply consider it a mandatory side item. Added bonus: you can buy the daily freshly baked bread in the gift shop in the same building. read more

This place has amazing food, no doubt. But I wish they would consider a process change on getting the food. I've been there when there is a line 15 or 20 deep and only one woman behind the serving table. There have been times that I've simply walked out because it takes just too long. They need a better process. Perhaps, when its that busy, they have one person each at the meat section and the side dishes section, and then someone to tally the orders. During busy times they need to have table runners available to help people who need it with trays so they can keep the line moving. I know things are slower in the south, but seriously, who has 20 minutes to stand in line?? It truly is frustrating and they need a better process. read more

While the dinner portion was ok, the Blueberry Bran muffin, pecan pie, and turnip greens were magnificent. The service was great and Uncle Ray was super nice, we even got to meet the Sheriff. Terrific, Southern-style food. Immaculately clean, wonderfully friendly staff, killer breads and desserts. Best iced tea in 3 counties and the sugar-free blueberry cobbler with sugar-free ice cream blew me away...did NOT miss the sugar at all. Excellent. I travel to South Carolina every two years for a family reunion. I am always looking for restaurants with home cooked type meals. I had read about Miller's Bread Basket a couple of years ago, but was unable to get there due to tight scheduling. This year was different. We made it a point to go there while driving from Atlanta to South Carolina. We were greeted by George, the owner, he is a bubbly little guy, full of energy and stories. The food is cafeteria style. I had the Fried Chicken, Meat Loaf, Potatoes, carrots and black eyed peas. Awesome..The put their own homemade stewed tomatoes on top of the meatloaf. The people kind and friendly, The food hot and so good, The shoefly pie melts in your mouth. They still have homemade sweet tea. All this for under $7.00 dollars. Came here in 2008 and I still remember it well. We spoke with "Uncle Ray" Miller for quite a while. It was the nicest time, aside from visiting the healing springs, during an entire week in the area. I specifically remember the shoo fly pie. I am gluten free now, so I'll never have it again - le sigh - but boy was it delicious. Have come here for lunch for many years off & on. I know new owners took over several yrs. ago. Lunch was good; dessert was OK. I've bought the bread--both butternut & cin./raisin many times over the years. This time I bought a loaf of Cin./raisin. Was I surprised! I don't think there was a whole raisin in the entire loaf! I travelled often through the area where this eatery is located and can vouch for the truly deliscious meals that are served in this quaint and lovely building. I go there as often as possible and when ever anyone visits me I try to take them to this little town of Blackville so they too can enjoy some of the most deliscious food I have found anywhere in this state. It is a pretty good drive for me to get there but it is worth it! Their homemade desserts and breads and jams and jellies will make you want to hoop and holler once they hit your mouth! They make the BEST baked chicken on the planet and oh I could go on and on about everything they prepare and cook and serve there! I enjoy dining out and being in the military I have travelled ALL OVER and this by far remains my most favorite place to go to when it comes to having a truly lip smaking meal. Went to Blackville for festival. After all the good reviews, thought we would try Millers. Food was lukewarm and we tried meatloaf, fried chicken, green beans, cabbage, potatoes and corn muffins. Fried chicken had no crust. Vegetables had no seasoning or taste. Corn muffins were dry. Had to ask waitress to nuke food to warm it up. Very disappointed ! read more

This is the best food! my parents own a concession trailor and decided to come to blackville for a festival. it was raining that morning and so we were stuck in our truck. the owner of millers came out and invited us and other business people in for breakfast. he served us home made muffins and coffee! it was soooooo good. later in the day we set up and served from out trailor. he came and bought stuff from us throughout the day. he also gave us a loaf of his break. it is home made and delicious! too bad the review can only have a five star rating because millers deserves a lot better than that! i cant wait until next year. we will be back to the festival just because we want to see mr. Ray (owner) he is so sweet. i also enjoyed the atmosfear. the amish and minonite workers made it a real enjoyable place. he also plays christian music in the store. you should definately go there! you will love the food and the nice, friendly people. read more
