What this business had that made it stand out was EXCELLENT antique toys in VERY good condition; I saw some fantastic, quality toys here-- SEE PICS! And I noticed a large toy/sign/car booth in the back right corner that had lots of mid century or newer vintage toys-- SEE PIC. Should you stop in, check out the rewired & refinished antique radios-- many gorgeous ones! There are hardly any primitives here & not many vintage furniture pieces, but it's definitely a worthy antique mall. When I'm in the Murphysboro area again, I'll likely stop in. However, unlike Florida, a 20% discount on any item $25+ is NOT typical in Nashville-area malls. But do request a 10% discount. I received an email this past week indicating "You'll find dozens of items marked 50% to 70% off this Friday and Saturday only. (Watch our social media Thursday evening, and I might give you a sneak preview!)" I didn't see any high-lighted items in the Facebook posting. What was the dozen of items included a rack with Easter items; Easter was almost 2 months ago. Both my husband and I found the ad to be very misleading. I graduated from college back in the 70's with a degree in retailing and worked in the industry for a number of years. While the woman behind the counter made light of our complaints I remember this type of advertising being labeled as "bait and switch" We did purchase a couple of items and when we got home they charged a service fee on our purchase for using a credit card. It would have been nice if like other retail establishments and restaurants you indicated there would be a service charge for using a card. Well folks you lost our future business. The owner responded to my review . There was no sign indicating a charge for Credit card purchases on the counter at the point of sale as she indicated in her response. And I copied and pasted the exact wording in quotes in my review via the email we received regarding the sale.. I have viewed Instagram videos over the years and the owner cashed me out. If you look at another review on this site they also indicated prices had gone drastically up. The one true statement is no one pressured us to buy anything,

Now that's what I call small town friendly. There are antiques here that are in great shape and furniture that has that country feel but is completely modern. There are bath bombs, jewelry, clothes, tables, mirrors, and candles for sale among many other treasures both on the main floor and upstairs. It smells delicious as soon as you walk in the door. It is decorated nicely inside and feels inviting. I plan to return. The prices aren't too bad either so that's a plus in my book. Small businesses for the win, amirite?!

The Gourmet Pantry represents so many regions as far as Argentina and as close as New Jersey.
