The selection was wide given the size of the operation. And I got to meet the man that makes it all happen: Hank Barlow. He was extremely friendly and helpful. He even agreed to meet me in the pitch black at night in 9-degree cold to let me shop after I got out of work and could make the trek out to Sharon. It's beautiful country, surrounded by mountains and state forests. There's even a covered bridge coming into town. It's worth the trip out to see the farm and the area even if you are a vegetarian. But, if you are a meat eater like I am, this was a life-changing experience. In addition to being cost effective (even the filet is $23/pound compared to 17 at your local grocer for crap that is fed corn syrup, antibiotics and hormones and $35 at whole foods for god knows what), this operation is local, sustainable, humane and family-run. This is what it's all about folks.

Instead, I bought a five pack of apple fritters. To me, they seemed more like Apple filled jelly, donuts, than apple, fritters, but they were still absolutely delicious! Tender, with plenty of apple filling. I also got some apple cider, which was wonderful, and, based on the sign on the outside of the stand, I bought a smoked trout. It was so good. Huge place and great to bring the kids…read more We went for strawberry picking for Father's Day. I like that you only pay for what you pick. No entrance fee per person and no parking fee (Unlike many other farms). The downside was that there were not many strawberries. The ones we did pick were already wilting within 24hours. I think we caught the end of picking season. The farm is about 1/4 mile down from the market /cafe/brewery. The market is cute and has a lot of pantry items as well as fresh produce. They also serve lunch (chicken sandwich, etc). I was surprised at how expensive everything was. It was $18 for the chicken sandwich. It was well fried and came with a good portion of salad. However, the chicken itself was very small. It also took 20 min to be served. Another option is the airstream in the back. They were selling hot dogs. They had some local dogs that were pretty tasty. The brewery on premise was great. They had a play area to keep the kids occupied, tables/chairs and the World Cup was on. Can't really get better than that. There is also a goat pen in the back of the market. You can pay for some food and the kids can feed the goats. A lot of places charge you just to see the goats. This place doesn't haggle you like that. Great place. I wish they were closer to the city!

When we arrived, on June 17, 2026, prime season for strawberries and snap peas, we were greated by a friendly young woman named Erin, who operated the admission booth. She provided us with two small containers for the snap peas and two larger for the strawberries and explained that we can pick whatever we want, and only pay for what we harvest. We acquired some beautifully fresh snap peas and freshly sweet strawberries. We visited the store, which offered typical farm store goods. There was nothing overly impressive about the store, but it is worth a look. We loved this place and even though it is more than an hour away, this will be our go to place to pick your own fruits and vegetables. We are looking forward to bluberries season in early July!

Golden Harvest was one of those farms, chosen by my husband who planned the entire trip. I was along for the ride. It's quaint and hard to miss with its bright-red, apple-shaped sign. We parked in front of the shop, and the smell of freshly baked goods greeted us when we entered. At that moment I knew this place would not disappoint. The counter had pies, turnovers, and cookies on display, but we came with a mission: secure a cider donut. It's so refreshing to see donuts sold at a reasonable price. For $1.35, these were a steal compared to the $6 ones sold in the city. (Yes, $6 for a single!) The donuts, which were still warm when we had them, were generously coated with cinnamon sugar. You could taste the apple cider with each bite. I would have ordered more, but I was saving my appetite for barbecue. (See my review for their smokehouse on my profile!)

Was looking at raspberries which looked really squished and had some flies and debating whether to buy and tried ONE. I quickly got scolded by a male worker who stood and stared at me and then loudly announced " I was eating all his berries." Very embarrassing. Disappointed that my items were put in a Georgia peaches box as I had naively assumed they were locally grown. On the way out decided to try the BBQ. Stood at the counter while two young girls stared at me no greeting, asking if I could order and they said Yeah rudely. Ordered a $4 iced tea, pulled pork sandwich and my partner got the smash burger. We asked for a cup of water and was told no, only the $2 bottled water. Ok. Burger was awful, thin, not cooked through and $12 for fast food quantity with no side. Pulled pork sandwich was ok but not at all worth $14. Came to almost $40 for two sandwiches that was not worth it. Got home and cut open an apple and it was rotten inside. Not a good visit at all.

And whenever you have a big order, they always pick everything up and walk you to your car. Simply amazing. I'm planning a big batch of applesauce so the buy one get 1/2 off for half bushels was perfect And they had an amazing special on all their pies today just in time for Christmas. $9.99 each that's about half price and it was just baked today. With three Christmas events coming up, I purchased three and couldn't be more pleased: wild, berry, cherry, and apple
