This WAS a great market. They groceries are expensive. Empty shelves every week. Owner's wife is unfriendly, unhelpful and nasty to her employees. Their dumpster is raided by bears multiple times a week, garbage everywhere. Delivery area is left a mess at all times. read more

This is almost like several different stores in one. You have your grocery with vegetables and shelf stable items. You have a sushi stand. There's a seafood counter with seasoning right in front. I hear you can get a sandwich towards the back. There are beautiful flowers in a cooler. You pay for everything at the register up front. It's an absolutely perfect store for a small town with a little bit of everything, even socks. Parking is pretty ample, it shares a plaza with USPS, a restaurant, and several other stores. What an amazing market in this rural part of Connecticut! We'd been staying near Millerton, NY, across the border, but had heard about this market and decided to give it a try. It would be amazing in an urban area, unbelievable in a rural area. Great produce section, with lots of organic produce, excellent selection of seafood--we picked up some salmon fillets and tuna steaks, and the man behind the counter was extra helpful--great selection of breads, good bulk selection--with an oil and vinegar bar for refilling--and a variety of ethnic foods, with an Asian bias. I couldn't believe that they had gyoza skins and a small selection of mochi (with some imported from overseas)! Definitely worth the drive to this market! Unlike anything else in the area. read more

No dairy other than what I can get at any supermarket for the second week in a row. The woman at the checkout counter glared at me like I was somehow ruining her day by being a customer there. Not worth going to, other than for emergency runs. read more

Third or fourth visit to this town supermarket. Each time returning on my trip back home to NY from CT. Today was a rainy Fall day damp w/ a bit of a chill in the air. I was looking for hot soup to warm me up. I can't even believe how delicious the Mulligatawny soup was... not that I could pronounce it, not that I knew what it was... best I way to explain it is chicken curry with carrots...amazing just what I needed. thank you so much read more

I am happy to see that Millerton is finally getting a supermarket. I am hoping that Sharon Market can find a way to do better this time-Better knowledge about what and where products are, cleaner store and better prices for the average Millerton shopper. I have been to small independent supermarkets who are part of a no brand name product line that has typically better prices. Sure, if you just do not care how much you pay for just (say a simple box of saltines) then just go here. I know it is a small town small grocery store, but this is shocking. It is downright beyond belief. A small item like mentioned here will run you over two dollars than elsewhere. Do they really have to gouge you to the bone? Stay away or be fine with being broke. I think being a bit more competitive would be in their better interest than this tactic. And if that is not enough watch your checkout receipt. I was rung up the wrong price for two items out of eleven yesterday. They will ring up organic when not, and or charge the higher price on an item where they have multiple choices on. This is more than three times now and hardly ever go in there. Sick of this. Maybe time for a news media call. read more

We made our first visit here the other day. It's a clean, attractive and larger-than-expected market you might expect to find in a much larger town. And it has separate sections for sushi, deli, and seafood items. The seafood counter has an appealing look and so does the sushi though we could do without all the avocado. The selections throughout the store are quite good but you'll pay for it because just about everything we saw seems to be on the upside of pricing. Of course right now food everywhere is close to outrageously priced, so let's say you're not likely to find too many bargains here. Then again, we've made only one visit, so a full assessment isn't part of this brief comment. It does make us wonder if the market's principal customers are out-of-towners and not locals? read more

Miserable shopping experience. Store is always freezing cold, reach-in refrigerators make incredible noise, and the place is dirty. The meat department never has any descriptions or prices on the display case and the butchers act like you just woke them up from a nap if you dare ask for service. If you are feeling extravagant and pay ridiculous prices for their flowers, know that they'll be dead in 2-3 days. And to finish off your experience the cashiers are apathetic and will stand and watch you bag your own groceries without helping or saying thank you for spending $400 there. The only reason to go there is their seafood department and Jam foods, but often wonder if that's enough of a reason. read more

For a small town in the rural corner of CT this market offers a good selection of products and a very helpful staff. The fish counter is better than most fish departments in larger city markets. It has a fresh sushi counter as well as excellent prepared foods and baked goods by Jams. Management is very committed to the local community. They went above and beyond providing home delivery during the Pandemic. read more

Used to shop there quite regularly...until I noticed that the male cashier (middle aged) with the white ponytail never spoke to me. Not even to give me my total. He looked like I had offended him, and all I ever said was "Hi, how are you?" It was bizarre, but maybe he was shy. His attitude one day, however, was markedly different when the person behind me looked wealthy: all smiles, super friendly, inquisitive. I chatted with a few friends and they had the SAME EXPERIENCES with him! Clearly, if you're not rich, you're not good enough to shop there. No plebes allowed! So I stopped. My husband and I used to shop in Sharon Market a few times a week (never less than $40-$60 per trip, sometimes more). We have 6 kids and even though it is severely overpriced, it was convenient. About six months ago we purchased some hot Italian sausage from there to cook for dinner. It was SO SALTY, it was inedible (I'm a salt addict, so for me to say that is something)! I called the store to get a refund and was told that because they don't make the sausage there was nothing they would do. They only package it to seem like they make it (this is what I was told by the store). I left my number for the owner to call me back and told them that if I didn't get a refund, we would never be back. (Conversation was much more in depth) They didn't call back and I haven't been back in since...until this week. Against my better judgement, we stopped in to buy ice cream and milk. We got home to find out the milk was rotten!! At $4.79 a gallon!! I'm assuming this was due to the constant problem they have with their coolers breaking down. (It was not passed its date.) One would think with all the $$ they are making by price gouging their patrons, they would be able to afford to fix them!! This time, I will never be back!! EVER!! And to the owners...you live in too small a town to treat your regulars this way!! You may get away with treating the tourists like this, but they are not the ones that will keep you in business!! If I could give a negative star, I would... Absolutely the worst AND Highest price grocery store I've ever experienced. I live in Sharon, and go there for the convenience when I just can't drive to Salisbury's LaBonne's market (Much better)., and I'm always appalled at the prices. This is from TOO many experiences, not just one or two. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this place..The produce it terrible. You must search for something that is not wilted, brown etc. There is a separately owned Deli that is better than the store, still atrocious prices.. but at least the food has been fresh. read more

This market is the best in the area. It is actually better than any of the supermarkets I know in nyc, and we live right next to Eli's on the UES! The selection is outrageous. They have a huge and fresh produce section with vegetables and fruits that you don't normally see in standard grocers - fresh figs, Asian pears, fresh Aloe, etc. There are many options for organic, unbleached nuts, wild salmon and other fish, healthy organic granolas, etc. They have an excellent frozen food section with items it's great to have on hand for last-minute entertaining. The craziest thing is the very authentic items they have for various international cuisines - ie. A few types of Arborio rice for risotto, fresh biscotti, Mochi Japanese desserts, greek filo dough, etc. I was seriously flabbergasted. They have a huge gluten-free section both frozen and not. I haven't tried it, but my daughter said that the prepared foods are also excellent. And, a lively selection of flowers at the entrance. I can't overestimate how impressed I was. We had always liked Mcenroes, but it costs a fortune compared to Sharon Farm Market and has a fraction of the selection. This will be our go-to market for large orders from now on, even though it's a 25min drive. read more

I've lived in Sharon for the past 9 years! Sharon Farm Market is the only local store! I just recently started shopping there again since I heard it was under new management! In the past it was run by a nasty old lady and the rudest staff! In the past few months there has been a drastic change for the better. Things are cleaner and fresher. Disregard the other review - go see for yourself if you are undecided. The Sharon Farm Market has made a huge positive difference in lifestyle in Sharon - people come from miles around now (the place under former management 6+years ago used to be health-threatening - really). The unusual thing about it is that, while it's small, it has subleased parts of the store to specialty businesses. The deli, Jam's, is outstanding and is the big draw - great sandwiches (you can order by phone for pick-up) and a changing variety of salads and cooked items - bbq pork to duck confit, depending on the day. The fish (Blue Sea) is far better/fresher than anything within 30 miles (ok, Guido's in Great Barrington MA is as good/better), There's also a sushi maker, and a nice oriental set of groceries (the owner is Korean). That means the produce is also very fresh. The people are very friendly and helpful. The meat section is adequate. The one "complaint" I can think of is that it's on the pricey side, no question - but that's totally understandable because it's small and has a lot of speciality items - it ain't the Big Y. read more

Shop here quite often. Admittedly in this small town our family does grocery shop at other stores, but for quality it is always Sharon Farm Market. The staff is always friendly and helpful and the "co-op" structure of the store is great. Separate vendors for grocery/produce, seafood, deli/bakery and meats. It is a gem for our town. read more
