I know this place has had some bad reviews but we've never had any problems here. There are people here who find it difficult to obide by the rules such as drinking and smoking weed on their porches when this is strictly prohibited. I wish that Yelp had the ability to rate using negative stars. This place may look nice on the outside, but it is run by swindlers with a slum lord mentality. My father has been a resident of Millview for several years. Initially, things were pretty good in terms of maintenance, property upkeep, security, and facility access/ usage but things have really gone downhill within the past 5 years. The access gate is constantly broken and/ or removed from one. Millview claims to be a gated community, but it's rarely every completely gated. Maintenance is absolutely horrible. My Dad has gone months without receiving visits to repair his sink and shower. After a bathroom leak in the apartment above him the repairmen hired cut a hole in my Dad's ceiling that has still not been mended. It's been 6 weeks of exposure to mold, rodents, or whatever else is in the ceiling and he hasn't heard from the property managers ONCE. These are a few of many egregious rental offenses that my Farher has suffered while living here. The apartments are generally poorly made. Thin walls, poor insulation, terrible flooring/ carpeting. The best thing about this complex is that it comes with parking and snow removal is consistent on the main roads. If you're looking to rent in Coatesville I would never recommend this place. There are so many other new, affordable rental units in the area that will treat you with respect and value your business as a tenant. This place is a glorified project housing community. read more

Worst place I've ever lived, I wish I could leave -5 stars! Where to start....the neighbors and management staff who live there are nosey and watch you like a hawk through the windows to report you for violating policies, meanwhile other residents in the building shelter and feed feral cats (which the property management does NOTHING to address, in the state of PA this is a crime). "Gated community" is completely false advertising as the "gates" are always broken and laying on the ground. No where to park...especially on Saginaw Dr. (request a different street if you get assigned here, they want you to pay extra for a garage if you want a guaranteed parking spot). Drug deals openly made at the school bus pickup and drop off location (meeting spot is at the neighboring entrance to Regency). Rent prices go up at least $100 a year and they make you sign onto longer and longer lease agreements or you'll have to pay even more. Maintenance staff are completely incompetent and useless....I could write a book on how dumb they are. Apartment comes with outdated appliances from 2005 and heavens forbid anything breaks, it'll take months to get fixed after multiple attempts are made by the maintenance staff regarding the same issues over and over again! You can't even fly an American flag out your patio or balcony as it "may be offensive to other residents". There is only one trash compactor for the entire neighborhood which is always overflowing with trash bags and large furniture items overtaking the entire trash disposal area. Breezeways constantly smelling of marijuana, absolutely not a place to have children. Windows and doors are extremely drafty, be prepared to pay a few hundred dollars a month for electric/gas heating, not to mention the high public water and sewer rates as no utilities are included in the ridiculous rent prices. HVAC does not work in the 2nd bedroom and we were told this is just the way it is because it is an end unit...get a space heater for the winter and a fan for the summer. Day 1 - move in day. Apartment not ready...maintenance people still working on HVAC unit. Maintenance man assures me they let no unauthorized people in the apartment with my belongings. Day 2 - Subcontracted HVAC repairman working in my apartment alone without supervision. That's how it all started...my refrigerator ices over and leaks all over my food and onto the floor when the door is opened. Water fills up vegetable bins, etc... every six weeks or so. maintenance man told me that all refrigerators do that...and proceeds to thaw out the ice with a portable steamer...no repairs made...just the steamer. This guy must think I'm retarded to tell me that's normal. Had air conditioning go out on the hottest day of the year...they brought up two window units...which was great. But didn't get anyone to work on my air condition for several weeks. When someone did come, they left without fixing anything. A month went by with no one saying anything before one of the maintenance men asked me if it was working and if I still needed the window units. What??? News to me...but I tried it, seemed ok, they took out the window units, and it wasn't working. Tech had told them they needed to recharge the cooling unit and no one did it. The subcontracted tech came back and did it...a month and a half or two months later. Someone comes in my apartment when I'm not home, leaves an illegible work slip on my counter...have no idea what they did. Next day, I get out of the shower...my water won't shut off all the way. Apparently, the illegible slip must of said they were breaking my shower...reported the water not shutting off that day. Came home from work and water wasn't running out spicket, so I assume it's fixed. Next morning I shower, try to shut the water off, and it won't shut off again. One Sunday night, my water wasn't working at all. I called maintenance a few times...leaving messages. Called the management company Paradise Management over ten times...no one called me back...still haven't. Had to go to work Monday morning unshowered. Water was working when I got home. Hot water heater stopped working. Maintenance came up to fix it. Had the water running in the sink in the spare bathroom...never shut it off when he was done. Found it running two days later. Finally...refused to pay December rent because there was a 3/4" gap under my front door and cold air was pouring in under the door. The maintenance man that was supposed to fix it...who had been there to "defrost" my refrigerator again...was whining because it was 5 pm and he wanted to be done for the day. He said he would be back that Monday...of course, you guessed it...that never happened. After several heated emails with the property manager (she has never apologized or admitted any fault for anything), a maintenance man came up on the 10th and put the missing door sweep that should have been there since day one on the door. However, I should note that the door is hung crooked, so now that the door sweep is installed, the door won't open or close correctly...and I have to push hard or kick the door to get it open. Anyhow...the day after they "fixed" the gap in the door, they left a late rent notice on my door. I say "they" because "they" put the wrong date on the notice...and didn't sign it. How many years has this been over??? Nine months!!! Can't wait for my lease to be up so I can get out of here! Oh...there's nail heads showing through the paint, which is crazy because they haven't "nailed" drywall in decades! Odd smell in my apartment is from previous tenant. An employee told me the place was destroyed and completely redone...but they couldn't remove the smell. Broken beer bottles and those tiny drug paraphernalia baggies in different areas on the property. I didn't see any of it in my walk through...I got suckered by the smoke and mirrors. In my experience, they only care about getting money...they don't think they need to provide a reasonable service for it. I trust Melissa and Joe...the rest of them are a clowns. If you are considering a move to Millview, take a few mins and read my review first. I promise it will be worth it. My husband and I moved into the 1st floor apt on 10-20-2020 . We wanted to be on the 3rd floor (cheaper rent) but having a dog over 40lbs you are required to be on the 1st floor. (higher rent) So day 1-Melissa from the office walked down with me to go through the apt with the checklist that they give all new tenants to make note of things that may be wrong. Before we even opened the door was problem #1-the metal plate that was put on after putting new locks on was about 2 inches wide and 6 inches long too short -meaning you could see right into the apt from outside and vice versa, which also means its oct and cold air was flowing right into the apt. (which we ended up duct taping since they never fixed it) After walking through the apt w Melissa we found about 15 things, all minor, that we marked on the checklist so we were not held responsible at time of move out. The main thing was the gap in the door. Minor things like black mold in both tubs, Kitchen counter coming apart, washer smelled like dirty socks, stovetop burners needed a smaller size in order to cook, small tears in the linoleum that were glued. Again, minor to us, but Jim the maintenance mngr said he wanted to replace our linoleum floors and that he would have the new stuff put in that looks like hard wood floors. So a week later Jim & 3 subcontractors came to our apt-let me add that we have 4 blink cameras throughout the apt for the dog-I notice that they brought the wrong floor, so my husband called Jim and after going back and forth on the phone with someone in the office (all on video) Jim called my husband back & said they would come back the next day and install the floor that he promised bcs at the end of the day he wanted to make sure that my husband "got laid"(again...caught on video) Let me also tell you that Jim was 100% aware of us having the cameras as he is on video telling all of the workers that "this apt is under video surveillance and the renters are having a fit about the wrong floors" Next day, we crate our dog again per Jim's request. Jim and 4 subcontractors show up to install floors, Jim lets them in & leaves them unsupervised. They had music blaring, they moved our fridge and never plugged it in, one of the guys walked past my dog in her crate (she was laying down being good) and flung a handful of linoleum he had just cut at her crate. Another guy who had 1200 sq ft of apt to set the vac hose anywhere decided to throw it right in front of my dogs' crate, causing her to jump up. The same guy that flung the linoleum at her was also caught on video snooping in our bedroom. Let me also say they used an entire roll of our paper towels and while pushing our fridge back they ripped the brand new linoleum that they just installed, so they glued it. And they had glue all over our baseboards. Next issue which I forgot to mention our brand new fridge, the ice maker was leaking, so Jim disconnected it and said he would install another one (that never happened-so in the lease where it states fridge with icemaker, that was a lie) So now after reading that, you can see how the gap in the front door is no longer the "main issue". Our privacy being invaded, and our dog being tormented is now the "main issue" So my emailing to the office begins, I start with Tanya, at first, I will say she seemed empathetic as she stated she would feel upset about this as well, but upset is an understatement. Our privacy being violated is a pretty big deal, but my dog being tormented is where they crossed my line. I ended up getting nowhere with Tanya so I went above her and emailed her boss, Laci. After several emails back and forth with her I finally got the phone call that I asked for, but it was while I was away on my honeymoon. She asked my husband and I for details on what happened and as we are telling her, she is talking over us, and then said that the workers who installed the floors were not millview employees, that they were subcontractors. She was not wanting to take responsibility for who they hire to enter our apartments. I said to her, "did you hire them to do a job for you? than you are responsible for them while they are on your property and in our apartments doing work for you" Laci started talking down to me, trying to blow this off and I set the phone down and told my husband he could hang up at any point I was done with this conversation. That same morning, we found an apt that we would be able to move into within 2 weeks, I emailed Laci and told her that we wanted out of the lease with no repercussions after what happened to us--after several emails, she finally agreed to 60 day written notice and no repercussions. I wish I could give them a 0. This is such an awful place to live, especially during covid. They have been trying to kick us out for months now, not working with us on anything. We finally got caught up on rent (because we got our jobs back) and they are still giving us a hard time, locking us out of our portal to pay online ( therefore adding on late fees). If you have a family, do yourselves a favor and buy a house. It's cheaper and safer that way. These people will try to kick you out over the smallest inconvenience to them. Especially during a national crisis that you can't control. I wish we never moved in. Our first place turned into our first nightmare. We had the Greystone (the largest apartment) We were young and in love and they gave us the keys after signing the 18 month lease. We now understand we should have walked through first. OUR fault totally!!! We did let them know of problems within 48hrs of moving in. However, after giving an extensive checklist of issues including: 3 different colors of paint on the walls and doors, the apartment being disgustingly filthy, there was pubic hair and urine on the bathroom floors, there is water damage to the living room window, hair painted on the doors, gunk in the mirror of the master bath, ect... Even after handing this check list in, they were not proactive in trying to appease these errors nor did they seem to care that they rented out an apartment that was in this condition. The gunk from the mirror was just removed a few weeks ago unfortunately, it all ended up on the floor and is now stuck there. Our neighbors above us sound like they are in the next room. Most of the staff is rude. When we toured the model we were told our apartment would not be ready for 2 weeks; however, the next day, we were informed it would be ready in 2 days. We could sign the lease at the end of that month and they could make their goal. We were happy to help them meet their goals because they seemed so nice! Even though it was going to cost us 34$ (1 day's rent). Lease signing day came and right there on the lease it showed they gave us a break on that one day of rent and even had a little note thanking us for helping them out. I wish we hadn't because maybe our apartment would have been properly/professionally cleaned and painted correctly. One very hot, humid and steamy Saturday night my key did not work, I had to call my boyfriend to come home from work and his key did not work either. We were locked out for more than an hour before Rob, one of the maintenance staff, came to our rescue and his key worked. The next day (Sunday) Jeanie, a leasing agent, said they didn't have any keys and we would have to wait until more came in. Meaning, we would have to leave our door unlocked if we left! The windows in our home are so cheap and drafty that our curtains blow when we have the windows shut and locked. As a result, our heating and electric bill is atrocious, despite that we are very green minded. OUR MAJOR COMPLAINT: We have be complaining about the tubs from the day we moved in. Both of our tubs are warped and do not drain properly, leaving stagnant water behind after each use. One of the tubs has most of it's enamel stripped away, leaving bare metal that is showing signs of rust. It took constant calls to the leasing office at Millview from September of 2009 til March of 2010 to get a contractor into our home to attempt to fix our tubs. They finally sent a man from an outside company to "repair" the tubs. Vern Dillon, from Designer Tub & Tile, ended up spraying toxic fumes in our home, without warning us and left a mess everywhere! Dust covered our entire apartment which is alarming for me because I have asthma. Mr. Dillon did not fix the tub, he actually made it worse. The second time Vern came, to re-repair his first botched attempt, he did not check in with the office, came directly to our apartment and started working even though I told him to speak to the office. He caused even MORE DAMAGE to the tub and used an almond colored glaze for a white tub. He also verbally abused me and almost assaulted my boyfriend and a employee of Millview. I spent 5-10 minutes on Google and found that he runs the company (he is the only one) out of his home and is not accredited by the BBB, (neither is Millview) and had a pest control franchise taken away from him because of his demeanor an lack of ethics. Obviously, Millview did no background check or research of any kind on Mr. Dillon and allowed this EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND TEMPERAMENTAL man onto their property and into our home. Finally, several weeks after sending a certified letter to Mr. Carl Chetty, the owner of the property, we finally got him in our apartment to look at the tubs. We now have to decide to switch apartments (our cost) or leave because they say they cannot fix our tubs... Leaving sure sounds nice but unfortunately at this point financially it's in our best interest to stay in this nightmare that we cannot seem to wake from. I feel like if you are a young couple they will assume you are naive and try to screw you over every chance they get.
