I have to get my soda from a soda machine because the RPAC in the basement near the lockers only takes payments from students and facility who are members of the RPAC, but they have huge space for working out, taking fitness classes, and another pool that has 8 lanes (25 yards) that has a movable floor and waterslide area for families. For example, hours are 10-2 for MLK day but there are still classes until 7:45 pm and I can see that people signed up. When I called and asked the Y staff member said "the person that does the schedule isn't here and hopefully he does it tomorrow." 2. Headsets aren't functioning all the time so instructor is trying to scream over sidetrack. 3. Some morning classes aren't offered in the evenings so this isn't fair for folks that work during the day. (Pure Strength and Y Stretch). I'm giving a 3 vs a 2 because I enjoy the instructors but the Y has a lot of improving to do.

Indoor and outdoor pools, and the indoor one has a couple of actual pools (maybe one is for therapy?) Daycare area, another bike room with even more monitors (there are many TVs around in the exercise area.) Big locker rooms. I wish this was closer to me. But maybe I'll get out here once in awhile.

It was last night's rain that made it less than a stellar run. Groveport Rec Center's running path has a serious drainage problems. Whenever it rains there are LARGE puddles on the path that last for days. These aren't little puddles that you can run around or jump over. You either have to run through them or try to go around them in the grass which is what I tried to do...and sunk ankle deep in the mud! So be careful if you come here after a rain. You might just want to bring an old pair of shoes!

The Dublin rec center gives you a free in-body test when you buy fitness passes which is a very…read morenice little perk but it's almost impossible to schedule it. I tried calling both the people (T & H, for short) who administer the test to schedule it and neither one called me back. I also texted one of them (H) and never heard back. So I called the rec center and they gave me the email for H. I emailed him and he replied and we scheduled it. Then, two hours before the time we had scheduled, he emailed me and said he would be teaching a class at that time and could I do it myself? I had never paid attention to the set-up of the procedure so I said no. So he said he would get someone to cover for him and he'd be there at our scheduled time. I got there early and waited about 15 minutes before I went to the front desk to tell them I needed help with the scheduled test. The person followed me back to the in-body room and pointed to a man and said "That's H". So he was out in the hallway having a conversation and I was waiting (at that point nearly 20 minutes) for him. He came in and gave me the test. Some version of this happens every 3 months when I buy new passes and have to run the gauntlet to get my free test and it is extremely frustrating.

Near the dining hall sits a huge cabinet filled with puzzles ranging from 300 to 1,000 pieces. Their generous policy is that you may bring puzzles or take as many puzzles as you like. The pool tables are always in use by smiling gentlemen and ladies. There is a quilt drop-in a couple of days a week. I'm impressed with how upbeat and cheery everyone is and I'm glad the city has created such a welcoming space for its seniors.

Aerobics isn't the only recommendation, they have a weight room available for $20 per year, and a whole host of other classes, from musical to creative. One star off for the seemingly lax policy on parents that drop their kids off here for "day care"

Slides, climbing stuff, etc. Plenty of benches for parents. The library next door for AC/potty/water breaks. Shade! No long walks for tired parents from the parking lot! We both enjoyed it.
