I took the Fearless Falling class, held between 3:00 to 4:00 on Wednesdays and I learned so much. The senior lunch on Wednesdays and Fridays is only $4; you may choose to dine in or takeaway. Near the dining hall sits a huge cabinet filled with puzzles ranging from 300 to 1,000 pieces. Their generous policy is that you may bring puzzles or take as many puzzles as you like. The pool tables are always in use by smiling gentlemen and ladies. There is a quilt drop-in a couple of days a week. I'm impressed with how upbeat and cheery everyone is and I'm glad the city has created such a welcoming space for its seniors.

My son is the youngest of the bunch, and if anything, he struggled a little bit on his own a bit getting stuck in one of the tubes and running into the carousel and definitely needed to be followed around closely. But overall he had an amazing time and did not want to open his presents or eat his cake because he was having so much fun! Pricing was reasonable and the location was clean and staff were friendly and helpful! Their website says that the peak time to visit in EARLY JUNE but our schedules didn't gibe with visiting in early June. Despite missing the PEAK, we were still able to see many gorgeous displays and blossoms. There are more differnt kinds of roses than I knew exisied. There is even a section devoted to HERTIAGE roses - that is roses cultivated BEFORE 1867 which, according to their literature was the birth of the era of today's roses. Whetstone Park is a huge park and the Park of Roses is just a part of the larger park. NOTE - there are no restrooms in the Park of Roses. There must be restrooms elsewhere in the park but they were not evident from the Park of Roses. This is well worth visiting and I'm going to mark my calendar to visit during EARLY JUNE next year.

From trails to playgrounds to restrooms they are all in good condition. The High Banks Park is very popular (many Columbus people drive across the city to come here) so especially on weekends finding parking can be a challenge. Plan way ahead if you want to get a picnic spot (shelter houses are by reservation most of the time). Kudos to Columbus for investing in the area's green spaces!

You could easily spend an entire day here walking multiple trails. We would recommend bringing water because we did not see water fountains or stations, and some stretches of trail were quite long. We would also recommend exploring and seeing what you find. We found a fun area with wooden exercise and play equipment. We spent about 30 minutes playing with all of the pieces. It was so much fun and we are already planning our next trip back!
